Scream 4, this is NOT Trevor!

Scream 4, directed by Wes Craven, stars Neve Campbell, David Arguette, Courtney Cox, Emma Roberts and Hayden Panettiere. If you have watched any of the three previous films over the last 15 years, you know what to expect. Twists and turns and constant guessing of who the killer(s) could be. The latest edition to the franchise does not disappoint. :)

Storyline:
Sidney Prescott, now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey and Gale who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill and her Aunt Kate. Unfortunately, Sidney's appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger.

I went to see this movie with 3 of my male friends (Mike, Stephen and Bo). Each of us had a different take on Scream 4, but ALL of us agreed that if you like this type of film you will enjoy it. Is it the best suspense movie? Heck no, but it's pretty decent and fun. I liked quite a bit about the movie: the constant references to basic rules in slasher films, kids sitting around all watching a movie and shouting out the lines word for word, the f-bomb being dropped at just the right moment, should I look around the dark room and see what that sound is scenes. But I personally like a good cheesy film, especially one that makes fun of classic horrors while being a horror/suspense type of flick.

It appeared to me that the knife used this time around seemed bigger, sharper and was used a lot more than in previous films. More gore for the ever growing population of violent games and movies. So if you like blood you will dig the cool make up and effects done this time around. Got blood?

Downside? Movie had a few too many dragging scenes that needed to be cut down. Lagged a bit here and there and portions of the dialog just too dry for my taste. :P BUT it was nice to see the main three characters teamed up to solve the killer mystery once again. My friend Bo did give this movie a very low rating of only 1 and 1/2 Sheep, but Mike and Stephen both settled on a solid 3 Sheep each. While their opinion matters to me, it is MY post so I do get the final say-so. So take that! lol

For those of you that liked the previous movies and want to have a fun night of slashing-cheese you will like this one.

Well Miss Sheep. Your review was rather dry in my opinion.. I dunno.. maybe you need some sleeeeppp!! What are you doing writing this at night when you should be off in lala land because you know MONDAY is APRIL 18th... Well with the rebirth of SCREAM... AGAIIINNN.. I think I'll be waiting for this one on netflix. I'm not a constant follower of movies like this. I don't know why.. I always think like Okay.. this same guy has killed HOW MANY PEOPLE? And they STILL can't figure out who the killer is? Maybe we should start making crossover films like the show FIRST 48 crossed with the SCREAM franchise... problem solved.. murderous rampage averted.. thank you REALLLL detective. So anyways.. I guess I'll just leave it at that.. One thing I am happy about with this new SCREAM movie.. I can dust off that scream mask for my kid and avoid the halloween store ONE MORE YEAR.. YESSSS...

Well first, yeah I need to get more sleep. Too bad my JOB needs me to work so much right now. And speaking of jobs, what's yours? Seem to have an awful lot of time to comment on my reviews. Just saying. lol Maybe you should assemble those returns and stop bumping your gums? hmm? lol kidding!

Well the thing with Scream is that it's NOT the same person over and over. Yeah they put on the mask and do the whole "ohh this is ghostface and what's your fav scary movie" blah blah blah. BUT each time it's new people, may be the same ending but yeah. I like the cheese now and then.

And WINNING on saving money and reusing the mask. ;)

Much love and thanks for the support. Goooood girl...

  8. n "Scream 4," the character Trevor becomes embroiled in the chaos, as the film deftly navigates the complexities of its thrilling, suspenseful narrative.
