Eternal Hunter (Night Watch #1)

Cynthia Eden delves into the dark realms of the Others, where desires and dangerous games await the unsuspecting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Assistant DA Erin Jerome has a secret. Make that two. One: She’s not entirely human–she’s Other, desperately trying to keep her supernatural strength under wraps. Two: she’s got a killer stalking her–an Other rogue set on “gifting” her bloody corpses, not to mention nights lying awake in terror. Small wonder she’s been having bad luck with men.

But the bounty hunter on her new case isn’t worried about any of that. Jude Donovan is a shapeshifter himself, and the new DA’s midnight hair and addictive scent tell him all he thinks he needs to know: She’s gorgeous, she’s definitely not human, and she’s bringing out the animal in him in a really good way. He might have to track a psychotic Other stalker through half of Louisiana. But he might also get the chance to watch Erin’s wild side come out and play.

Assistant DA Erin Jerome is more than she seems but she's good at hiding what she is from most people and others like herself. That is until she meets Jude Donovan who can tell she's much more than she's letting on.

Jude Donovan is a shapeshifter and a bounty hunter and when he meets Erin he can tell from her scent that she is not completely human and he's surprised when she doesn't admit it when he confronts her about it.

Erin is investigating a murder when her past catches up with her and even though she doesn't want to admit it, she's going to need the help of Jude Donovan. But she has secrets and doesn't want to tell Jude or anyone what or who is after her or why but with some time, trust and love she finds she has to tell Jude the truth.

Erin is a different kind of shifter, she feels like she is a freak and unworthy because of what happened to her as a child. But she proves to be very unique and more than she seems which was really exciting. I love reading new, original ideas when it comes to shifters since the shifter craze in books is upon us and it seems that there are a myriad of shifters these days.

The chemistry between Jude and Erin is what really made me love this book. They just fit together and you can see how they both need the other in their lives.

The story itself had a good flow, it isn't predictable at all and kept me guessing as to what would happen next, which I really like. There's also an interesting twist that I don't think anyone will see coming but really adds to the storyline.

I've been a fan of Cynthia Eden's books for a long time and her shifter books are some of my favorites. She creates world's that are so real you feel as though you can go find these places and move right in, sharing the streets with shifters that will melt your heart and leave you wanting to share your bed with those yummy alpha males.

If you're looking for a great paranormal shifter read with a little intrigue, action and mystery thrown in for good measure. Then this is the book you've been looking for.

I give this book 5 sheep.
