In this scorching Immortals After Dark/Dacian novella, #1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole brings together a wicked vampire prince used to getting everything he desires and a demon warrior who always felt like an outcast.

A night of debauchery . . .
Prince Mirceo Daciano and his new friend Caspion the Tracker comb the streets of Dacia, drunkenly seeking out pleasures of the flesh. In what should have been a typical night, they coax a bevy of nymphs to bed. To impress their females, the demon and the vampire kiss on a dare.

Changes them forever . . .
Once they finally break away from their soul-searing kiss, they find themselves alone—and shaken. Had they imagined their explosive chemistry? Obstacles—ranging from a death sentence, to exile on a war-torn dimension—threaten to destroy their lives . . . and the vulnerable promise in that one kiss.

How long can they resist the fire that blazes between them?
Even if Mirceo accepts Caspion as his fated mate, the seductive vampire still must convince the stubborn demon that their bond is forever. And any royal Dacian union must receive the blessing of King Lothaire, an unpredictable and savage killer.

Confession: I gave up on PNR a long time ago. I guess I burned out and I craved the world building from urban fantasy...sadly, this included Cole's IAD series. I haven't read the last 4 or so, but that's okay, because Katie still eats that stuff up like candy and she inhales Cole's books. Then I find out Cole is releasing an m/m IAD book. I'm a big gay romance reader so I was intrigued. But (there is always a but) I had my doubts because many PNR authors have put out an m/m book in their hetero series and they just haven't gotten it right.

I want to apologize to Ms. Cole for ever doubting her...
Shadow's Seduction rocked my PNR world! And made me kick myself for ever leaving her hot and sexy book embrace. Cole can write gay romance. *angles sing and Sharon hugs her kindle* Maybe I'm being a little dramatic but I really loved the vampire, Mirceo. He is everything I want in an alpha hero. Playful, sensual, humorous, mischievous, self-assured (some would say cocky) and determined. When he set his sights on Caspian (the poor demon didn't have a chance) he was unashamed to show it.

Caspion is an alpha male, too...of the demon variety and a little more old school. He fights the fact that Mirceo is his mate tooth and nail (or claw). Some of that has to do with Mirceo being a male, but most has to do with Caspian's insecurities and lack of self-worth.

While this is set in the complex and imaginative IAD world, readers who don't like m/m won't miss any important story arc info. But Lothaire and his bride show up and wow...he's a dick. Warning: if you don't like m/m sex scenes then you best stay away cause it is as detailed as her m/f sex scenes. If you do like that...this is must read...I'm thinking about reading it again...and I NEVER reread books...like ever.

Some favorite Mirceo moments:
He'd always topped with other males, but considering how dominant Caspion was, Mirceo figured he'd be falling on that sword, as it were.

My gods, look at him. Mirceo stared in awe. He's as magnificent as I am.

"This sounds perfect. I would like to throw gold at this problem and delegate all parts of it."

  4. Can this be read as a stand alone? I haven't been able to follow the series because it was long before it's first publication so technically, this would be my first book.
