Conviction

Conviction directed by Tony Goldwyn stars Hillary Swank and Sam Rockwell, film is in theaters now. My Mom and I went to see this movie and we both came to the same conclusion. Heart wrenching drama.

Plot Summary:
Betty Ann Waters (Hilary Swank), an unemployed single mother of two boys, saw her brother begin serving a life sentence in 1983 for murder and robbery of a woman living in a trailer next door to him in Ayer, Massachusetts. Kenneth's (Sam Rockwell) ability to appeal his conviction using public defenders has been exhausted and without a lawyer, he will die in prison. That is when Betty Anne, a high school dropout, decides to dedicate her life to save her brother. Convinced that he was innocent, she spent the next 12 years taking steps to earn a law degree.

With talented actors who deliver believable performances the movie was incredibly convincing. *tips hat* The heartache of having a loved one in prison for so long was unbearable to this devoted sister, and she took matters into her own hands. As life dished out it's worst she kept going, and for me it was amazing and inspiring. I had to ask myself, would I go that far? Hands down Yes! I would. :)

I recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys dramas based on true story's, for action fans this may not be your glass of Coke (lol). Literally I walked out of this film wanting to call my baby brother just to tell him how much I love him. And if you're reading this, Blackie I love you. *hugs*

With awards season coming soon it wont surprise me to see this film in the running. Beautiful film. Getting 4 amazed sheep!
