All of Me (Covington Cove #2)

Paperback, 304 pages

A “fantastic”* new romance from the author of Return to Me and "one of the top 10 reads of 2013"

For ten months, bestselling novelist Alec Winston hasn’t been able to type a single word, and he’s coming dangerously close to breaching his publishing contract. An invitation from his brother to spend the summer in Wilmington Beach might be just the thing to blast through his writer’s block. Yet Alec discovers more than a spark of inspiration on the sunny sands. He meets an amber-eyed muse who makes him think about much more than books . . .

Faith Armstrong has finally gathered the courage to leave her past behind and accepted a job as a private tutor, hoping for a fresh start on the North Carolina coast. This is the home she’s always longed for—not just a place, but a state of mind. She’s felt invisible her whole life, so the host of new friends and the attention of a sexy author have her head spinning.

But Alec has a secret that could prove this isn’t the life Faith dreamed of after all . . .

"Fun, emotional, and totally engaging!"

It's not often I read a straight fang-free romance story nowadays, BUT once in a while I stick my neck out and see what the humans are up to. All of Meis the second book in this Conington Cove series and while I didn't read the first story, I certainly did not feel lost at all. The author does a good job of getting the reader up to date on all the happenings.

This is a soft heartened romance read for those that love a love story. Readers who like a stationary romance that has more emotional layers and characters with pasts who need mending. There is no action at all, no one out to kill or plot against anyone else. There is nothing for the "bang bang shot'em up" enthusiasts (like myself). So for a sappy love story alone, this one was okay in my opinion.

I'm not typically into these types of dramas, but I did find myself getting invested in the charters. There dialog and angst buildup kept me turning the pages to see what happened next. Well written and thoroughly planned out, truly made them feel more lifelike. Would I have enjoyed a pack of weres coming into the scene and biting everyone? Sure, but even though that didn't happen I still ended up liking the story overall.

If you're into romance, minus the vamps, you'll probably enjoy this one much more then myself. But saying that, there was enough for even the PNR lover to sink their holstered fangs into.

  1. This is a wonderful fun story, but it is also an emotional read; especially when we feel Faith’s pain, and her fear of opening herself to others. Not to mention when we learn more about Alec’s predicament, though I personally did not agree with him willing to give up his happiness for a lost cause.
