***

You think it's safe to walk alone at night. It's not.

You think the only threat is other humans. It's not.

Monsters are real. Demons are real. Vampires are real.

And I'm about to become one of them.

My name is Arianna Spero. I was an ordinary girl, living an ordinary life, until my mother lapsed into a coma. Now, I am her only hope. She made a deal with the devil, and on my 18th birthday he came to collect. But there's a way to save her. There's something the princes of hell want more than my mother.

Me.

So I signed my soul away and promised to pick a prince to marry. I would take the blood oath, become one of them, and give them an heir. I would become a princess of hell, and my mother would live.

I expected fire and brimstone. I expected pain and misery. I didn't expect beauty. I didn't expect magic.

I didn't expect love.

But the princes are keeping secrets from me.

Secrets that could shatter everything.

Making a deal with the devil to exchange your soul for your mother's. Hard decision? Perhaps not when you discover your mother made her deal to save your life at a young age.

Ariana makes the deal and is escorted by "War", one of the 7 princes of Hell, to the underground afterlife where she is required to wed one of the 7 brothers. She will spend one month with each then make her decision. The brother princes each represent the 7 sins. There is War, Pride, Lust, Gluttony, Envy, Greed and Sloth. The one she chooses will become King. This is set before them by the deceased King of the underworld.

I loved the storyline! An interesting premise which gives way to romance and strife. Ariana quickly assimilates into the underworld as if she were meant to be there. Of course knowing your soul is not to be tortured but to become a queen might give you a sense of relief. And the fact that they will let you visit your old life once a month to make sure your mother's soul is intact makes you think the devil is not such a bad guy! But she has only met and spent time with Fen (War) and the other 6 have yet to be fully evaluated for her consideration. There are concerns about a couple of the brothers which would give me the shivers.

I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to Ariana's tale as she proceeds to discover her real reason for being chosen as Queen in the underworld! Fun, romantic with subterfuge , danger and cheering for Ariana to make the right choice. There are 3 more books out there and I am definitely going to pick them up and continue this sage.

I give this 4.5 "sinfully" delightful story.
