I worked hard, everything I planned almost within my grasp, and then one flicker in time, mere seconds, and it’s all gone. Billie is a planner and a hard worker. Even if she doesn’t lead the most glamourous life; it’s still her life. Her favorite person in her family is her Gram who seems to only like Billie but at least someone likes her. Her Gram tells her some very strange things and in a short period, she finds herself stuck in a place called the outpost, which seems to be some kind of holding station for people who haven’t transitioned. All Billie wants to do is return to her old life, but according to Kaden, the man in charge, it’s not possible. No matter how infuriating Kaden is or how many times he tells her that she can’t go back she is determined to find a way.
The more time she spends in this strange new world, the more she seems to accept that maybe she is stuck. No one will explain how the majority of things work in this new place, but she’s determined to find someone, anyone who will explain and help her with the mess her life has become.
The new series by Augustine keeps you thinking and trying to figure out what is going on. More questions than answers plague not only Billie but the reader as the story unfolds.

Donna Augustine was an odd child, had a brief moment of conformity in early adulthood and then decided to embrace her craziness as the years rolled by. It's her inner crazy that she credits with coming up with the ideas for her books. One part hypochondriac, a few dashes of paranoia, topped with a sliver of uptight and delivered with a relaxed flair, she kicked the proverbial box down the yellow brick road a couple years ago to embrace her true self.
She can be reached by a carrier pigeon, set free in a south by north direction, where she resides in Neverland with her two Siberian cats. Cats who, by the way, aren't as hypoallergenic as she believed they'd be.
