The darkness within me grows stronger every day, threatening to consume the person I once was. I crave the company of Kicks and the others I love, and yet fear to let them close to the monster I am becoming.

So when Death calls in her bargain and tells me to go to Scotland, I’m eager to end the debt I owe her. But her vengeance is sure to bring more pain and heartache. Instead of the healing I seek, I’ll surely form more enemies and dole out more death. The end of this bargain might destroy any hope of a new beginning…

Donna Augustine wraps up the Life After Death Day series with a thrilling and unpredictable finale. Just when I thought I had the plot figured out, it would take another surprising turn, keeping me hooked until the very end.

Death is the character you are trying to figure out until the very end. As much as she tries to mimic human behaviors it is something she has yet to accomplish. Kicks and Piper’s relationship is so complicated but in a way that leaves you wanting more.

I loved how this book concluded the series, though I feel there’s still room for more to this story. That said, it feels like a fitting end. The emotional depth and twists made it a memorable read, and I can’t wait to see what Donna Augustine has in store for us next!

Donna Augustine was an odd child, had a brief moment of conformity in early adulthood and then decided to embrace her craziness as the years rolled by. It's her inner crazy that she credits with coming up with the ideas for her books. One part hypochondriac, a few dashes of paranoia, topped with a sliver of uptight and delivered with a relaxed flair, she kicked the proverbial box down the yellow brick road a couple years ago to embrace her true self.

She can be reached by a carrier pigeon, set free in a south by north direction, where she resides in Neverland with her two Siberian cats. Cats who, by the way, aren't as hypoallergenic as she believed they'd be.

For the conventional minded, and those of you without a pigeon on hand, she can be reached at donna@donnaaugustine.com. She responds to most emails within three dusk periods.

P.S. For those of you looking for the discarded box, it was sitting beside the road for a while but has since disappeared completely.
