Top 10 quotes from Blood Prophecy Two: Queen’s Enemy by Barb Jones (Book Tour)

Thank you I Smell Sheep for having me on your blog today. I am pretty excited about being here and being able to share with my fans and future fans, my top ten quotes from Blood Prophecy Two: Queen’s Enemy.

My favorite quotes from the book all have a special meaning to me. Each quote shows a vigilance in character, such as lust, strength, justice, vengeance and purpose to say the list. In addition, each quote is from one of the strong characters, whether it be Amber, Michael, Chloe, Kabos, Malakai, Marcus or any of the others. Together, they possess the feelings that we only dream of.

I won’t dive into all the ten quotes, unless you really want me to but let’s talk about some of them. The first quote about how Amber’s lips hypnotize Michael. All women want to hear that from their man, no doubt about it. It brings a sense of lust and love that happens between a man and a woman. The second quote on the list describes the child coming to the Queen. That only signifies purpose. We all have a purpose whether we realize it or not. Every member of the human race has a purpose to play or serve in our existence. Nursing mothers serve a purpose for the baby to eat, right? It’s all about your life having meaning and purpose. I just tied it to a prophecy involving the supernatural.

As you can tell, each quote means something. And really, I write the books to have their own interpretation or meaning to each person. I hope you enjoy reading the quotes and let the words’ meanings come to you. Each character can be someone you relate to or even all of them! That’s the beauty of Blood Prophecy!

1. “You know, Amber, I cannot imagine a world without you. You have become the Queen we need, yet you are still a young vampire. Your lips hypnotize me,” he said in a low whisper as his lips brushed her ear.

2. “The child will come to the Queen once the blood path of birth has been chosen. She will either undo the Queen or be the sceptre of all reconciliation. The child will be born when the yellow moon turns to the color of blood. Hear and mark the words of the Queen. The child’s path is predestined upon the choice of the Chosen Witch. The hour of reconciliation is coming and the path needs to be chosen. Now.”

3. Son, there is a prophecy that has been wielded. A foretelling of events to come. I was a young boy before my birthmark made me take my true place. I am to make the one who will start the revelation that will lead the True One to find the Queen. I learned to read the stars and the stars pointed me to you. You are the True One. And now you must learn to be who you were meant to be.

4. “The girl with the red hair is coming. She’s a lady and very pretty. She’s the one I am going to be friends with.”

5. This Child of Prophecy is no ordinary child, as you know, her birth was foretold many centuries ago, she came into this world a great force for good against the powers of evil. Zaraquel,” and then he nodded at Marcus, “an apt name for such a precious child is an Avenging Angel.

Her destiny is to destroy the powers of evil, and she’ll never rest until they are destroyed. She has been reincarnated many times, and has always battled evil, this time she reincarnated with her full powers. When she comes to maturity there will be nothing on Earth that can stop her.

6. “They will face the red werewolves of hell,” said Jacob.

7. In a low, deep voice he said, “Let’s go back. The night was just getting lively.” He said. “What are we? We’ve got an armored tank practically, full of vampires. What do we look like? I’m not running from no zombies,” he said in a thick Russian accent. “They just took us by surprise. Let’s take them by surprise.” He said with a dark glower on his face.

8. “As an Avenging Angel, Zaraquel’s role is to bring justice to this world. While she is a baby her wings will remain pure and white, but in her role as an Avenging Angel, with her first justified kill, and she will kill to bring balance to an imbalanced world, her wings will become blood-red after her first kill. After her tenth kill, they will become midnight-black. This will indicate that she has become an Executioner of the Highest Order, a true Avenging Angel, bent on bringing justice to the world.”

9. “You are my witch, my One. Through you, the ages will pass. A line of witches will disembark on the earth.”

10. “Chloe, I Love You. You are my Heart and Soul and I Pledge to Keep You and Our Baby Safe for Eternity.”

When you are in love with the one you fear and hate the most, it leaves you no options. How can you fight her, protect her, when all it would do is leave you in pieces?

Amber and Chloe are pulled deeper in the Prophecy that revealed itself at the moment they became friends. Michael is pulled into different directions. One to love and protect his Queen or to join forces with the Vampire Hunter and kill the Queen before the Blood Prophecy is revealed. His choie along with the birth of the Child from a vampire and witch marks the intensity of the Blood Prophecy. Once the child is born, the path of the prophecy is laid out and Amber must obey that path.

Could she unite the races or destroy them all with the child?

Interview: Urban Fantasy Author Kerry Schafer (The Between Series) + giveaway

Today we have urban fantasy author Kerry Schafer visiting. Unfortunately she had to leave her dragons at home. We talk about totem animals, Zee cookies, flesh eating penguins and a viking (but don't touch the viking, Kerry appears to be very stingy when it comes to him)
be sure to check out her theme music

Powered by

Sharon: Hello! Welcome to the Flock. We love dragons here. We even have our very own dragon named Jake. He lives in the dungeon over in our Facebook group…he likes gummy bears and cinnamon hearts.
Kerry: Thanks so much for inviting me over. I've left the dragons at home because they eat sheep and I'm not sure how they would get along with Jake. I've tried to instill some manners, but you know – dragons.

Sharon: I know, you can take the dragon out of the wild, but not the wild out of the dragon.
Kerry: Ain't that the truth?

Sharon: Let’s start out with telling our readers about your series The Between.
Kerry: The Between is a place between waking and dreaming where anything is possible. And in case that sounds awesome, it's important to remember that nightmares are also dreams, and those dream monsters that chase you are very real in the Between. Vivian is a Dreamshifter, which means she is not only responsible for guarding your safety by keeping the doors closed between dreaming and waking, but she can also enter dream worlds at will. (Except when she gets locked out, of course, which is what happens in Wakeworld.) She also has dragon blood burning through her veins, which results in a disconcerting tendency to turn into a dragon. This causes her some distress, especially since Zee, the love of her life, was born to be a dragon slayer.

Sharon: Dinner with the future in-laws could be a-w-k-w-a-r-d… If the nightmare monsters are real, then that mean my dream Thor would be too, right? See where I am going with this?
Kerry: I do! Be careful, though, because a dream liaison of that sort can have certain – consequences – as Zee finds out to his dismay in Wakeworld.

Sharon: I also see you have a novella series called Dream Wars. How much does it cost to hire a dream runner and would you recommend it?
Kerry: I do not recommend ever hiring a dream runner. It seems like a great idea at the time, but since you never know what it's going to cost you until after you've ordered in your designer dream, it's a proposition that could cost you your soul, your memory, or even your life.
these covers are beautiful!

Sharon: In Denise’s review of Wakeworld she mentions a penguin named Poe? What’s his story?
Kerry: Poe is a dream penguin, and Vivian's totem animal. He follows her out of a dreamworld early in the book Between, and stays with her as a companion. Even though he never speaks, it's clear that he has thoughts of his own and he sometimes acts as a guide.
Sharon: I take it penguins aren't tasty to dragons? What would your totem animal be?
Kerry: Oh, most dragons would be more than happy to have a nice penguiny morsel. Fortunately, Vivian has some control over her dragon tendencies. Most of the time, anyway. The first time ever that I drew a card from an animal totem deck I got a Mountain Lion. I'm sticking with that.

Sharon: If someone wanted to make a Zee cookie what are some of the ingredients would they need?
Kerry: Ahh! Um, one part soul of artist, two parts warrior, infuse with essence of passionate lover.
*Sharon starts writing shopping list*

Sharon: Dental hygiene must be a big priority for a dragon. How do they keep those teeth sharp and pearly white?
Kerry: Well, they sharpen them on the bones of their prey, but I fear their teeth are more often bloodstained than pearly white.

Sharon: If every time you walked into a room theme music played (you know, like a superhero) what would yours be?
Kerry: Another One Bites the Dust? Just kidding. Let's see – it would have to be a Mark Knopfler song. Let's go with The Bug. Apart from the fact that I adore Mark Knopfler, this song is my reminder that the good and bad things in life are all mixed up together and to just enjoy the ride.

Sharon: His voice always makes me think of early MTV. I loved Skateaway.
Kerry: I might maybe be a little obsessed.

Sharon: You are a native Canadian, but live across the border in Washington now. Is there a place in the US you haven’t been too, but hope to one day?
Kerry: Tons of places! I have seen very little of the south and would really like to visit. And I love the ocean. You know what would be really fun? Driving the entire coast all the way around the country.

Sharon: When you hit NC I can help you out. I grew up near the coast.
Kerry: Excellent. I've got some familiarity with the West Coast, but that's it.

Sharon: Your bio mentions a childhood book collection. How big is it and which book/series had a big impact on you?
Kerry: I've lost a few along the way, but let's just say that I have more books than shelves at the moment and I really need to do something about this soon. The collection stems from early childhood, so there's a whole row of Dr. Seuss books. And then there's everything Louisa May Alcott wrote, not just Little Women. The Five Little Peppers and How they Grew books. Pretty much everything by Lucy Maud Montgomery, who wrote some other fabulous books besides Anne of Green Gables. I particularly loved her Emily books, partly because Emily was a struggling young author with huge aspirations, but also because Emily gets glimpses through the "curtain" into the supernatural. Well, that and her love story with Teddy. My mother encouraged my love of reading and our house was full of books, but she was not (and still isn't, by the way) a fan of fantasy. So my early introduction to my favorite genre came from fairy tales and King Arthur stories discovered in the library and at school.
Sharon: When are parents going to learn? If you don’t like something then your kids will! I grew up around mysteries, literary fiction and historicals… I don’t care for those, I want books about sexy men fantasy!
Kerry: Funny how parents don't encourage those books, isn't it?

Rapid Fire

Sharon: bookmark or dog ear?
Kerry: neither. I have place finding radar.

Sharon: tacos or pizza?
Kerry: Pizza Hut pan pizza

Sharon: windows up or windows down?
Kerry: how cold is it? Definitely down in the summer.

Sharon: Pepsi or Coke?
Kerry: not big on soda, but definitely Coke

Sharon: *shakes head and wipes a tear away* damn, and I thought we could be friends… <G>
Kerry: 'tis a great sadness. Well, better to know, than not.

Sharon: sci fi movie or romantic comedy?
Kerry: sci fi, but I do love me a good rom com every now and then

Sharon: Is there a movie you are excited for? I can’t wait to see the new Godzilla because…GODZILLA!
Kerry: Hmmm. Right now? Nope. Actually can't think of anything I'm dying to see.

Sharon: board games or card games?
Kerry: card games

Thanks for taking the time to visit. Is there anything you would like our readers to know before we give you a tour of the dungeon?
Kerry: Dungeon? This sounds ominous. I forgot to bring gummy bears for Jake. If I don't reappear, somebody please let my Viking know to come rescue me? Also – I love hearing from readers. You can tweet me @kerryschafer, or hang out on my Facebook Page:

Sharon: WHOA! Wait…what Viking? You never said anything about a Viking. Does he have any friends?
Kerry: MY Viking. MINE. Guarded by dragons and flesh eating penguins.

Book Review: Darkwalker by E. L. Tettensor

He used to be the best detective on the job. Until he became the hunted...

Once a legendary police inspector, Nicolas Lenoir is now a disillusioned and broken man who spends his days going through the motions and his evenings drinking away the nightmares of his past. Ten years ago, Lenoir barely escaped the grasp of the Darkwalker, a vengeful spirit who demands a terrible toll on those who have offended the dead. But the Darkwalker does not give up on his prey so easily, and Lenoir has always known his debt would come due one day.

When Lenoir is assigned to a disturbing new case, he treats the job with his usual apathy—until his best informant, a street savvy orphan, is kidnapped. Desperate to find his young friend before the worst befalls him, Lenoir will do anything catch the monster responsible for the crimes, even if it means walking willingly into the arms of his own doom…

Once upon a time, police inspector Nicholas Lenoir was a legendary detective. Ten years later, he is disillusioned and broken man who doesn’t really try to solve anything, driving his partner, Sergeant Bran Kody, to disgust and anger. He spends his night drinking to drive away nightmares from his past, ones that center around a Darkwalker. But when cases of missing children of a certain age are stolen from their coffins, he tries to ignore the signs, until a street-wise orphan he has become friends with is kidnapped.

A good mixture of dark fantasy and suspense, set in a fantasy world rich in world building that seems to be built upon our own, the story drew me in. Especially when the Darkwalker comes to where Lenoir now lives and they join to find the young boy the police inspector is looking for.

If you enjoy mysteries and love horror too, then this novel is a perfect fit of the shudders and intrigue.

Book Review: Angeli by Jody Wallace

Angeli (Maelstrom Chronicles #1)
by Jody Wallace

Genre: Romantic Suspense, Paranormal
Length: 219 pages
Release Date: January 2014
ISBN: 978-1-62266-461-0
Imprint: Ignite

Gregori’s last mission is to save Earth from the demons threatening to take control. He doesn’t care if he survives as long as he averts the impending apocalypse—until he meets Adelita, a human refugee, whose spirit and determination give him a renewed reason to fight. And live. He’s falling for her, despite the fact he’s told her nothing but lies and there can’t possibly be a future for them.
Adelita can hardly believe the archangel Gregori, sent to save mankind, has lost his faith and his edge. After he saves her from a demon attack, she vows to help him recover both by any means necessary. But can she keep her own faith when she learns the truth about who and what Gregori really is?
As the Commander of the Alien spaceship that came to earth to stop the apocalypse from happening, Gregori knows that he's gone against everything his people believe to save the planet, but he couldn't just leave, knowing most would die.

Adelita thinks the Aliens who have come to Earth are Angels sent to save us from the Daemons. But when the angels leave and there's only daemons left she decides to jump to her death at the Grand Canyon, if she can make it there.

Gregori's ship, is sentient ship and decides who would be the chosen one. This person would destroy the egg that will open a hole so that daemons and shades would be able to come through and devour living souls on earth. If there's one thing these Aliens could have learned from us Earthlings it's, never under any circumstances trust a sentient computer, can you say Terminator?

I really liked these two characters and their story. They find themselves in a world where daemons and angels are the norm. People are realizing that they all might die and the angels they thought would help them have in fact abandoned them instead.

In the mess of trying to fight the shades from eating their souls and stop an even bigger demon from knowing of his ships existence, Gregori finds himself enamored with Adelita. She is a strong female character and I really liked that about her. Just when I thought she would give up, she fought on.

The only fault I found with this book is that it seemed to end abruptly.

If you likes daemons, soul eating shades, and a sweet love story then you'll like this book.

I give this book 4 sheep!
