A talented, young getaway driver (Ansel Elgort) relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey), he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.

Well, I'm a liar. I told a flock member I didn't put this on my new releases for July post because I had no plans to see it...oops!

I went to see Baby Driver with my sixteen year old daughter with the reasoning that Jamie Foxx was in it and he has a pretty good track record. And...wait for it...liked it! It was a damn good action movie. I pre-judged and it was nothing like I thought it would be. Sorry, Baby! The opening car chase was amazing! Unfortunately, it was the best one of the movie. There were some other mini car chases and one big on-foot chase, but nothing like the opening. But that was okay. There was a lot of blow'em up, shoot'em up going on too. Baby Driver deserves its R rating for violence. Which was at odds with the PG cheesy, young adult romance going on, but maybe that was the point. There was a 50's sort of vibe to the romance.

There were some twists I didn't see coming, so yay on avoiding some clichés. The movie is worth seeing, either at a matinee price or on demand.

Holly gives it 4 Sheep. She was surprised and impressed (she loves car chases)
I give it 3.75 "We're on the same team" Sheep

    1. The next time I got in the car with my 16 year old (she is still on a learner's permit) She wanted to drive on the interstate with the music blasting (she has great taste in music...very electronic bluesy sound). I told her okay as long as we kept all four tires on the road ;)
