On the streets, they call fifteen year old orphan Isaiah Marshall the “Indestructible Diamond”. Isaiah is the leader of the “Redrovers”, a group of teenage misfits consisting of his friends Jeremy, Monty, and Pipsqueak, but when they trespass into “Kaliber Academy” to get even with the arrogant Jason Ollopa, they are in way over their heads.
Principal Webb enrolls them into the High School and Isaiah soon learns about the existence of the gods of the Ancient World. Because the gods have refused to fight the last War for fear of the Mysterious Dark, the Powers-that-Be have stripped them of their spiritual bodies and given them mortal, teenage forms.
Isaiah discovers he's not only a god, but that he's the child of the Greek goddess Metis, the son destined to overthrow his cruel and sadistic father Zeus, the Darkener of the Sky, and become the greatest god in all the Pantheons.

Pantheons brings a refreshing cast of characters to the paranormal scene that has become over run by the populations of vampires and werewolves. The author, Mr. E. J. Dabel, creates a fantasical world where myth and legend are weaved together with the drama and society that is known as high school.
Book 1 of the Pantheons series introduces us to a godling who is more than he seems at first, he is loyal to a fault and has a serious score to settle. The story takes us through his experience of discovering who he is and what he's capable of achieving, all the while entertaining us with history lessons of Greek, Norse, Celtic, Babylonian, Finnish, Aztec, Egyptian, Asian, and many other world mythologies along with teenage angst.
Isaiah Marshall is not your typical high school student. He grew up an orphan, living on the streets and battling for survival which earned him the name Indestructible Diamond. Through his journey of becoming a godling and fighting for those he loves, he must learn how to tap into his godly powers and combine his primal side with the divine.
I loved that Dabel gave us a new lens to look through in regards to the paranormal world. His characters were fun, fierce, and something out of the ordinary. While the book was a fast, easy read, the storyline lacked depth for me. The characters were inviting and easy to relate, however, the relationships felt shallow and incomplete.
Having said that, I would recommend the book to anyone looking for an escape from the norm that has become the Twilight infested world of reading (no offense). This book was a breath of fresh air, fun to read and highly entertaining in it's deliverance of mythology.
