166 pages
Genre: Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance, Crime Thriller
Surviving attempted murder by genetic modification left FBI Special Agent Dreya Love with a new life. Now she just has to stay alive.

Agent Dreya Love prefers to work alone. But when her friend, a senator’s daughter, is killed, she’s forced to partner with Detective Rhys Morgan, or get assigned to ‘the backside of hell.’ More deaths with bodies matching their first victim brings Interpol Agent Quinn Kingston to the team.

As their investigation uncovers a secret genetic research program, a government cover-up, and a warning to ‘walk away,’ the case turns deadly.

The hunt for a killer, a boutique drug, and an unearthly ingredient unite these three in ways they couldn’t imagine. Soon, they discover the truth leads to a hell they never knew existed.

Excerpts ~

I thought it best to start with the main characters.
Meet Dreya Love before Nobility:
“Go home,” Director Jarvis ordered. “Get dressed. Call me then.”

“Sir,” she blurted, but he had hung up.

“Bad news?” gorgeous asked.

“Yes.” She avoided his eye; she just wanted to go. “I’ll call you,” she said as she grabbed her other shoe and stopped long enough to step into her panties. She darted past him, picked her purse from the kitchen counter, and made for the door.

“I haven’t given you my number,” he called out.

“It’s okay,” she said over her shoulder as she stepped out the door. “I’m the FBI.”

Dreya Love after Nobility:

Oddly feeling their pain and confusion, she looked from one to the other, frowning. She suddenly felt so connected to them, a wave of empathy swelled from her heart. She grabbed each one’s hand, tears filling her new eyes, eyes that came with more than super vision and a different color—

Emotion. Dear heaven, their feelings are in my head.

Meet Rhys Morgan before Nobility:

Rhys leaned over to see, expecting a standard issue, slick suited Fed prototype to emerge. What came instead was—

His mouth dropped open. The Fed was a woman, and she was not a standard issue anything. She had long honey blonde hair, green eyes, and a strut that belonged in high-heels. He clamped his lips tight and closed his eyes, wanting to scrub her image from his mind. “No freaking way.”

Rhys Morgan after Nobility:

He knew the wind in his face, knew his sharp sight could detect the smallest movement on the ground, knew the incredible strength of his wings—

My wings?

He rubbed his face, not daring to look at either Love or Quinn.

How is it … I know how to fly?

Meet Quinn Kingston before Nobility:

“I’m only here to liaison between your agencies and European police departments. I don’t even carry a gun. Officially, I’m as much diplomat as investigator—”

“Unofficially?” she challenged.

“Unofficially, I want to know what would cause a human body to end like this.” He pulled from his pocket photographs and passed them to her and Morgan.

Quinn Kingston after Nobility:

The fur was a mix of exceptionally soft black and silver hairs that literally sparkled with reflected light. Somewhere inside his mind and within his body, he deeply comprehended that the fur had come from his new body. A body that was more than he ever thought possible.

In his dreams, he ran with a pack; he remembered hunting and taking down his prey—

Prey?

Meet Simon Sinclair before Nobility:

Dreya motioned the bartender for another drink. Her physical reaction to Simon earlier intrigued her enough to ask, “So, Simon … may I call you Simon?”

“Please do,” he answered.

“What brings you to this misfit outpost?” With a quick glance, she instantly regretted her words.

His face lost its amicable candor and he turned his gaze straight ahead to the mirror behind the bar. “Long story.”

Simon Sinclair after Nobility:

Abruptly, she held a hand out. “Simon’s coming back.”

Quinn smiled broadly. “I wondered how long he’d last. I really like Simon.”

“Me, too. What about you, Rhys?”

“Yeah. I’m glad he’s in the pack. We’re a good number now. Four. Stronger.” He rose from the chair. “I’ll get it.” A soft knock came at the door and he opened it. “Come on in, Simon. We were waiting for you.”

Meet Dr. Anthony Lazar, creator of Nobility:

He gave his sister one last look through a wash of tears. At least now her frail body was at peace. In death there was no pain, no grief, no desperate clinging to life. But in the void left by her passing, a new commitment arose in his heart and mind. He stared out the window, tears falling from his face.

I don’t need God.

“I could have fixed her.”

Dr. Anthony Lazar after Nobility:

“Nobility—”

“Is an evolutionary ignition switch,” Lazar said. “The process Nobility started is ongoing.” He sat back in his chair, smiling and parental again. “You will note the expression of animal DNA rising through a lessening of negative human motives such as greed, jealousy, envy … even gluttony will dissipate. More noble animal and human attributes will take their place. You have already felt the pack instinct—separation is unbearable, am I right?”

About the Author:
“Unlike some writers, I was not born knowing I would be a writer. But hindsight shows me every moment of my life was all in preparation for this job. In 2002 I suddenly had the time and the means to begin the process of learning the craft. Amidst all the conventions and seminars and on-line classes, a level of ability was born. At the same time, the characters began popping up in my head along with their stories.

“I continue writing because readers say my stories give them something to think about. THAT is all the encouragement I need.

“Follow my lead, and I will take you to worlds ancient and contemporary for adventures of the heart, mind, and spirit.”
