Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins stars Henry Golding as Snake Eyes, a tenacious loner who is welcomed into an ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage after saving the life of their heir apparent. Upon arrival in Japan, the Arashikage teach Snake Eyes the ways of the ninja warrior while also providing something he's been longing for: a home. But, when secrets from his past are revealed, Snake Eyes' honor and allegiance will be tested -- even if that means losing the trust of those closest to him.

My husband and I rented this online for $19. We're still not going to the theaters just yet. We both love the G.I. Joe movies for the fun action movie experience. So we were excited and willing to pay the price to rent.

Was it worth $19? Not really. Would it be worth the $6 On-Demand price? Absolutely!

Snake Eyes is the origin story of Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. As far as origin movies go, I enjoyed it. You watch one man rise to hero status and another fall from hero to villain. I was a little surprised they added a supernatural aspect to the ninja order in a G.I. Joe franchise. That was kind of hard to swallow, but it did make for an excellent ending. And you should never mess with a ninja grandma!

I adore actor Andrew Koji and he made a fabulous Tomisaburo "Tommy" Arashikage/Storm Shadow. And I was happy to see Iko Uwais play "Hard Master" even though he had a small part. I loved him in the Netflix series Wu Warrior.

If you're into sword action movies then this is your ticket! Crazy one on twenty sword-fighting scenes but no blood...I mean, Tommy fights  There has been grumbling about the acting ability of Henry Golding and he isn't that great...but...who cares! He knows how to swing a sword. There are great/good/meh scenes all mixed in. But no awesome one-liners like you get in a good action movie "I'll be back!"

If you enjoy these types of movies then check this one out...but maybe wait for the price to go down.

There is an after-credit scene!
