Went to see Mile 22 with my husband and 17-year-old daughter.

Aw, geez...the trailer to this one screams badass action movie, and the movie delivers crazy action and fighting scenes. Not for the faint of heart though, lots of bloody violence. It also delivers on the suspense. And the twist at the end? Oh, snap! And I adore Mark Wahlberg.

This movie has all the pieces, but... there were a few things that didn't work for me. Unfortunately, important things. The biggest issue, I didn't like the main character James Silva played by Mark Wahlberg. And it wasn't that the character was an a$$hole, because he was supposed to be. But Wahlberg, the director, and the writer didn't pull the character off as well as they could have. James Silva has some emotional issues which make him good at his job. His mind is hyperactive and his mom taught him to snap a rubber band on his wrist whenever he needed to slow his brain down and focus. But they kept hitting us over the head with it. Subtle references would have been better.

Then there was James Silva's dialogue. Yeah, I get it, his brain is going 100 mph and he talks fast, confusing everyone around him. That works great in a written medium, not so much on the screen. It was distracting and annoying.

Lauren Cohan and Iko Uwais characters helped save Mile 22 for me. Iko Uwais...I can watch him all day ;)

The story was told in one of my least favorite ways. Flipping between James Silva briefing his superiors on how their mission went FUBAR and then flashbacks of the mission. Add in James Silva's linguistic gymnastics and I got tired of it pretty quick.

After the awesome big twist, the movie ended with two important characters on a major cliffhanger. Do they plan on having a sequel? Cause if they don't, WT actual F?

Okay, I sound like you shouldn't see the movie...but if you like action movies there is still a lot to enjoy about Mile 22. But catch it on DVD.

My husband and daughter gave it 3.5 sheep. My husband would have given it 4 if it hadn't had that ending.

Most everyone knows about my Optimus Prime crush, so anytime my main metal man is on the big screen I gotta go. 

What a disappointment...again. The last movie had transforming dinosaurs! How could they mess that up...but they did. It seemed like with The Last Knight, they decided to just string together lots of high quality action sequences and explosions (don't get me wrong, I LOVE action and explosions) and maybe the audience won't notice the lame-a$$ plot. Transformers and King Arthur? Really? And it is time to let Megan Fox go, Mr. Bay. Casting an adult and young adult version of her was a bit much.

The Last Knight was 2 hours and 29 minutes long...159 minutes...I was visually exhausted and bored during the big show down...and this was when my hard piece of Autobot kicked some serious Decepticon butt. O.P. (that's what I call him) didn't get a lot of screen time. A little at the beginning when the floating tentacle lady hypnotized him and then at the end when Bumble Bee's magical voice saved him... There were some kids in the audience and they laughed a lot. The humor in the first two movies was perfect. In The Last Knight all the jokes fell flat and were poorly timed.

Seeing the movie on the big screen will let you appreciate the special effects but catch a matinee. Wait for it to show up for free on Netflix where you can fast forward. I wasn't happy with the movie but my husband gave it 3.5 sheep because of all the action. I'm not as forgiving.

On April 20th, 2010, one of the world's largest man-made disasters occurred on the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico. Directed by Peter Berg (Lone Survivor), this story honors the brave men and women whose heroism would save many on board, and change everyone's lives forever.

I remember when this happened, but I had no idea what "happened." I have a new respect for anyone working on a rig. I am not one for true story movies, especially when there is senseless life lost. I have never seen, and will never see, Titanic. The only reason I went to see Deepwater Horizon is because my 15  year old daughter wanted to see one of her favorite actors Dylan O'Brien.

I'm glad I went. There is nothing entertaining about the movie, but it is powerful. I thought the casting was fabulous...you can't go wrong with Kurt Russel and John Malchovich and Mark Wahlburg is nice to look at. I felt on the edge of my seat most of the movie...even knowing what was going to happen. They did a great job of building tension and suspense. They did go a little overboard on the foreshadowing. I don't know how much of the movie was embellished but I'm sure there was some. Some scenes were pretty hard to watch; they must have gotten that PG-13 rating by the skin of their teeth.

The people involved in the making of Deepwater Horizon gave proper respect to those who lost their lives by showing them as people and then at the end of the movie they showed pictures of the real people who died and those involved in saving so many lives. I'm astonished that more didn't die.

Hard to rate this kind of movie. My husband gives it 3.5-4 because it took a while to get to the action. My daughter gives it 4.5...not sure how much that has to do with O'Brien's character living. Knowing what this movie represents and what it means to those who survived and those who didn't, I can only go with my heart and give it 5 Sheep

Stepdad, Brad Whitaker, is a radio host trying to get his stepchildren to love him and call him Dad. But his plans turn upside down when the biological father, Dusty Mayron, returns.

This was pretty much what you expect. The trailer is pretty accurate. The story was predictable, but it was still a lot of fun. I went with my husband and 14 year old daughter and we all laughed. The ending is hilarious.

If you are looking for something to do on a cold or rainy day this is worth a matinee price. Seeing it on the big screen won't make it better so if you are a DVD kind of person then grab it if you like these kind of movies. Young adults will love it, but be careful with how young since there is some language and sexual humor.

Sheep Movie Review: Lone Survivor

Plot: 

LONE SURVIVOR, tells the story of four Navy SEALs on an ill-fated covert mission to neutralize a high-level Taliban operative who are ambushed by enemy forces in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan. Based on The New York Times bestseller, this is a story of heroism, courage and survival. 

As the title of the film states, this is really a tale of the lone survivor. Watching this heart wrenching film, you're truly hopeful that maybe, just maybe, the story will have a different ending. I was! It sadly does not and even though you know only one man makes it out alive, you're no less hurt by the loss of each. 

The movie starts out with some interesting moments taken from real Navy SEAL bootcamp footage. I had a GI Jane flashback for a second (Suck my dic@!), but after that passed I was watching first hand what these men, and hopefully soon women, have to go through. It's rigorous and physically demanding. Many wash out, but those that push through find themselves in an elite group of bad asses. 

The story moves along to show free time before they deploy for a hush-hush mission in Afghanistan. Some rowdy banter, male posturing and crap talking snark take place, while also giving a glimpse into their personal lives back home. I would have liked a bit more time in this area of the film. More chances to know the faces that this film revolves around. However, all to soon the action kicks in. 

Once it does, it's game over. 

The amount of hits these guys took was staggering. Not just the stunt doubles in the film, but thinking about the real life men. I stub my toe and I want to ball my eyes out. These guys got injured many, many times, and kept going. Good to go sir! Just walk it off. Phhft, not me. I would call time out, wave the white flag and get the hell out of dodge. But, this is why (among many reasons) a Navy SEAL I am not. 

Major kudos to the stunt team that took this one on. Being thrown off a cliff, rolling down a hill over and over, hitting rock after rock, then trees! My word, it was so gnarly! It almost seems unreal, but truth is in the story and I was trapped in the moment with them. 

Overall, this is one to watch for those that enjoy a drama about real-life heroes. They come in all shapes and sizes, but heroes they are. 

Just be prepared for some major gore and nail bitting situations. You've been warned.

This was a good old fashion blow’em up cop action movie. I love Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington. They had great on screen chemistry with Denzel playing the straight guy to Mark’s crazy much like Lethal Weapon. One thing to be mindful of, the trailers play up the comedy aspect of the movie, and there is a lot of comedy, but it is also a drama. I liked how the story kept me guessing. You aren’t sure who the bad guy is till near the end. Then there is all the blowing stuff up in slow motion parts, which is an action movie staple.

You don’t need to see this at the theater to enjoy, but if you are looking for some entertainment away from the summer heat outside, this will satisfy.

Date Night Movie a riot!

Tina Fey and Steve Carell are hysterical in the comedy movie Date Night. If you have been through marriage, kids and all the years in between so much of this movie will ring true. And if you're one of the lucky few who have not, BEWARE THIS WILL BE YOUR FUTURE! lol I kid, I kid.

Marky Mark looks fabulous with or without his shirt (I for one will take no shirt whenever offered) playing the role of past client to Tina Feys character. You will laugh so hard during the boat scene you may pee yourself- just a little.

Steve Carell has bugged me in previous movies and I for one am not a fan of the office, I can take him in bites but no more then that. This movie had the perfect balance for me, I never found myself getting annoyed with him once. May be due to the fact of Tina bringing her brilliance of comedy to the film or just the overall flow, but I was very pleased.

Has enough action and boobies to keep men entertained as well, overall a fun movie that will leave you with a smile on your face. Make sure to stay through the end credits for the outtakes you wont regret it.

Thank you Rose for an awesome birthday movie and dinner I love you girl.
