Book Reviews: Psychic Dreams: (Glimmer Lake Book 3) by Elizabeth Hunter

Psychic Dreams: (Glimmer Lake Book 3)

Paranormal Women's Fiction with a bit of class, and a lot of sass, for anyone who feels like age is just a number!

She’s feeling the heat. Or it might be a hot flash. Sometimes it’s really hard to tell.

It’s been four years since Monica lost the love of her life to a sudden and devastating heart attack. She’s held her family together and picked herself up with the love and help of her two best friends. Now Monica has a new business, a new wardrobe, and a new vision for the future.

As in actual psychic visions. Dreams that manifest in reality? Monica’s still not sure why or how it happened, but she’s been seeing everything from unexpected visitors to visions of fire and destruction.

Separating premonitions from morbid imagination is proving harder than Monica expected, and no one can tell her if these new, violent visions will become a reality.

Added to that, there’s a new fire investigator in town, and he’s more than a little suspicious about the anonymous and frighteningly accurate tips someone is calling in. Monica is feeling the heat… or is that a hot flash?

Is their town about to feel the burn of a serial arsonist, or can Monica, Robin, and Val figure out the dangerous secret smoldering at the heart of Glimmer Lake?

Psychic Dreams is a standalone paranormal women’s fiction novel in the Glimmer Lake series by USA Today best seller Elizabeth Hunter, author of the Elemental Mysteries and the Irin Chronicles.

Monica and her two best friends were in a car accident a few years ago and ever since the accident they each developed a psychic power. Monica’s psychic power is visions. Lately, she has been having visions of a terrible fire and she isn’t sure if there’s a way to stop it from becoming a reality. On top of that, there’s a new sexy fire investigator in town who is very suspicious about the anonymous tips that Sully has been receiving.

Even though this book is focused on Monica and her powers, both Robin and Val are very much a part of the story that ties the three books together nicely. Robin continues to use her ability to communicate with ghosts and Val will read an object if needed which helps Monica as she tries to determine what is an actual vision and what is just a dream. This series focuses on women over 40 which is a refreshing change and the book is still relatable for a reader of any age.

Book Review: Semi-Psychic Life: (Glimmer Lake Book 2) by Elizabeth Hunter

A Paranormal Women's Fiction with a bit of class, and a lot of sass, for anyone who feels like age is just a number!

Who says you can’t live the rock and roll life after forty?
You just need a lot more vitamins and a bigger bottle of aspirin.

Valerie Costa was pretty sure she was rocking her forties. She had an amazing coffee shop, two cool teenagers, and a new superpower that gave her insight into any random object she touched.

Okay, she wasn’t thrilled about that last one.

Ever since Val and her two best friends had driven their car off the edge and into Glimmer Lake the year before, Val has struggled with her new abilities. She’s not exactly sure she wants to be psychic, she could live without her newfound glove addiction, and honestly no one wants to know that much about their teenage sons.

But when Val’s ex-husband goes missing, and police show up at her door with questions she can’t answer, Val, Robin, and Monica are going to have to use their sudden psychic abilities to solve a mystery none of them saw coming.

Semi-Psychic Life is a standalone paranormal women’s fiction novel in the Glimmer Lake series by USA Today bestseller, Elizabeth Hunter, author of the Elemental Mysteries and the Irin Chronicles.

Three friends involved in the same critical accident. Each emerged with different Physic abilities. Val is not really pleased that each time she touches something or someone she gets visions of what has occurred in their life. So...gloves are a staple to her wardrobe. She is a divorced middle-aged mother of 3 boys (four if you count her irresponsible ex-husband) and has no time for drama, romance, and “psychic visions.”

But when her ex-husband goes missing, she feels obligated to solve the mystery and get to the bottom of a crime she is sure he didn’t commit.

This story has all the framework as Hunter”s other works. Good main, solid storyline, romance, friendship, and reliability. I didn’t find this as enticing as her other works but never thought about not finishing the story. The characters grew on me so maybe it was just a dour period in my reading marathon or just call me “crazy.” I will pick up the next installment because even if not a 5 star for me, I would like to see where she goes with the other characters.

Book Review: Suddenly Psychic: (Glimmer Lake Book 1) by Elizabeth Hunter

A Paranormal Women's Fiction with a bit of class and a lot of sass, for anyone who feels like age is just a number!

Every woman goes through changes in their forties. Just not... these changes.

Robin Brannon was a normal wife, mom, and antique-shop owner until a brush with death turned her day-to-day life upside down. Now she and her two best friends are seeing things that belong in a fantasy novel. Ghosts. Visions. Omens of doom. Nothing that belongs in the peaceful mountain town they call home.

Added to that, Robin's marriage is on the rocks, her grandmother's health is failing, her mother is driving away the customers at her shop, her teenage daughter refuses to get her driver's license, and her left knee aches every darn morning.

Robin doesn't have the time, energy, or knees to unearth the secrets buried at the bottom of Glimmer Lake, but fate doesn't seem to care. Some secrets are just dying to be exposed.

Suddenly Psychic is stand-alone paranormal women's fiction and the first book in the Glimmer Lake series by USA Today bestseller, Elizabeth Hunter, author of the Elemental Mysteries.

Hunter has not disappointed with this new paranormal women’s fiction novel that is the first in the Glimmer Lake series. Robin is ordinary; she’s a mom, wife and antique-shop owner that nothing exciting ever happens to. She has two best friends, Val and Monica who have both had their tragedies over the last few years. Val got divorced and has had to deal with her immature ex-husband and his young girlfriend. Monica’s husband died leaving her and their four kids without him.

Robin and Val want to do something to celebrate Monica’s birthday, the first without her husband and decide to head up to the lodge for a girl’s night out and some karaoke. When a fun night out with friends takes a scary turn the women will never be the same again.

This book was interesting. It held a mystery that needed to be solved, a dash of paranormal powers and that leaves you with a fantastic read. It was refreshing to be able to read a story that has characters closer to my age that are realistic and face the same struggles as I do.
