Kane says he can end my misery.

He says he believes in the monsters and knows they killed my family.

What he isn’t saying is how bad it’s going to get. That if I fulfill my part of the bargain and get him his information, I’ll be clinging to sanity by my fingertips.

Looks like another hit series just making it's debut! I didn't expect any less from Donna Augustine.

You heard Donna's familiar cadence and inflection from the first page. Telling the story of what will be another kick-ass female heroine with just enough self doubt to make her burrow into your heart.

I know, I know, we have quite a few really good writers of women heroes but can you ever really have enough?! And Donna does them soooo well. I never tire of hearing a story told with the blend of struggle, humor and strength that this author is so good at developing. (Can you tell I am a fan?)

Ollie has been seeing monsters all of her life then one day everything changed...she actually spoke to one. Wrong move. Loosing everything close and dear to her in one fell swoop she began a spiral into depression and self destruction. That is, until "they" showed up. Maybe there were people (or something) out there that didn't think she was bat-shit crazy. Worth a shot in finding out? Could be the end of her life but "Hey!", she was already on that path, right?

Do yourself a favor. Pick this up ASAP. A new flavor, a new series, a familiar voice to the Augustine fans to immerse yourself in for some mental get-a-way! I read this in one day because it was addicting. I could have recommended this from the first page...it felt like home!

Getting 5 sheep from this girl.

About the Author:

Donna Augustine was an odd child, had a brief moment of conformity in early adulthood and then decided to embrace her craziness as the years rolled by. It's her inner crazy that she credits with coming up with the ideas for her books. One part hypochondriac, a few dashes of paranoia, topped with a sliver of uptight and delivered with a relaxed flair, she kicked the proverbial box down the yellow brick road a couple years ago to embrace her true self.

She can be reached by a carrier pigeon, set free in a south by north direction, where she resides in Neverland with her two Siberian cats. Cats who, by the way, aren't as hypoallergenic as she believed they'd be.

For the conventional minded, and those of you without a pigeon on hand, she can be reached at donna@donnaaugustine.com. She responds to most emails within three dusk periods.

P.S. For those of you looking for the discarded box, it was sitting beside the road for a while but has since disappeared completely.
