Sheep Talk: Top 5 Movies of All Time

If you stop and really think about it, coming up with your own top 5 movies is really freaking hard! You can ONLY pick 5. That's it. We do this in my family at the dinner table every once in a while. We go around the horn and each picks our selection of 5. I thought it would be fun to share my 5 and hear from all of you in the comments about what 5 made your list. So here goes!

Katie's list

 Best Action of all time:
Has to go to Braveheart. I mean hands down this movie has it all! Say what you want about Mel Gibson, I adore him in this one. I always have, I always will. *wink, wink* If you've watched the movie you totes ma goats get that last sentence. But hands down and guts out this one has me shouting FREEDOM to the heavens above.

Best Sci-Fi of all time:
Really tough to pick from sooooo many but keeping to just one, it's got to be The Fifth Element. Chicken, good. I'll grab my multipass any day of the week for this non-stop action-packed sci-fi adventure. Chris Rock is hilarious in this one and the best role I've ever watched him in TBH, Gary Oldman is King. Love that man.

Best Western of all time:
Tombstone. All day. Every day. I'm your huckleberry. LOVE this movie. John Wayne is the OG and shout out to all his extensive work but nothing has the magic of this one in my book. Val is a boss and Ringo should have stopped foolin about! RIP'ieces Ringo.

Best Drama of all time:
2005 Pride and Prejudice. I am not lying. This movie is played at least once a month in my house. Judge me all you want but know that...I don't care! Best drama of all time. I can recite word for word if anyone ever wants to do some role play. Hit me up!

Best Animated of all time:
Ok, of all the above categories I always struggle the most with this one. I mean, one movie when I was 8 months pregnant had me crying non-stop, I watched another and cried 3 times and then this other one got me a few times as well. There's a theme here with kid movies, they get my heart string and I don't know why!!!! But picking one and only one has to go to Disney's Little Mermaid. This movie has always meant the most to me, it's special for myself and my Mom in Heaven. So Little Mermaid takes the magical sea cake (which should be a thing because now that I typed that it sounds delicious!).

Sharon's list
I'm gonna preface this with the fact that I can't pick the best of anything. My mind goes blank and my list can change based on the mood I'm in. So the best I can do is pick movies that I love right now and find myself quoting lines from them in every situation.
(This list will change many times before this posts)
Edit: I finished this post 10 minutes ago and now I want to add The Mummy (1999).

All Marvel movies. Okay, I'm kind of cheating right off the bat here, but I have thoroughly enjoyed every Marvel movie that has been released so far. Deadpool might be #1 but Civil War and Guardians of the Galaxy are awesome too...then there is Winter Soldier and Thor: Ragnarok...see what I mean?

Best Western
Going with Katie on this one. Tombstone is full of awesome actors. I'll be Val Kilmer's Huckleberry any day!

Best Sci-Fi
Independence Day is one of those movies that I can't pass up if it is on.ll I, Robot falls into this category too and I can include it because they both have Will Smith.

Best Comedy
Dodgeball has me rolling everytime I see it. I quote lines from this one ALL the time. "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball." "No one makes me bleed my own blood."

Best Sentimental movie
Ladyhawke has always held a special place in my heart. I think it was the first love story movie that touched my heart. I was a Rutger Hauer fan from then on. So I can include Bladerunner cause Rutger is in that one ;)

  1. All of these are great choices. I've watched Tombstone more times than I can count and quote from it often. Dodgeball had me in stitches. My son loves it too. The Fifth Element is another one I quote from. And I have several copies of Pride And Prejudice. And Lady hawk. Rutger and Michelle melted my heart. And Mathew as Mouse was so fun. rave heart was epic. Have you seen Rob Roy? It's another great one!

  2. Very few people even know of Ladyhawke. I love that one too. Also Idle Hands is one most don't know about but I thought it was a super cheesy, hilarious movie.

    1. You'd have to be a child of the 80s to remember Ladyhawke. I just looked up Idle Hands...lol! That is my kind of movie too. will have to find it somewhere. You might like The Babysitter. It is a Netflix original and a hilarious horror movie. I reviewed it recently. Watched it again last weekend :)

  3. This is a tough task! I was just talking about this to someone the other day. My favourite sci fi movie is the Matrix. I saw it for the first time in the theatre and was completely mesmerized.

I am also a sucker for action films and recently watched the Kingsmen movies for the first time. LOVED them.

    1. I'm a big action fan too! The Kingsmen was fantastic. It is really hard to pick. I like different movies for different reasons so I have many favorites. It has been soooo long since I saw The Matrix... love me some Keanu. His John Wick movies are a favorite of mine too...see? Now I want to make changes :)

  8. Independent film financing continues to change as indie movie distribution gets more financially shaky. The place it's hitting indie movie producers hardest is right at the source - film financing. หนังhd
