No one's ever really gone... Rey's journey continues and the Skywalker saga concludes in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

The one thing Star Wars movies do best is give us droids to love.
First, we had R2-D2, then BB-8, now we have D-O! We must protect this precious baby.
What can I say? I saw my first Star Wars movie in 1977 at the age of 10. There was nothing else like it. 42 years later the special effects have improved but not the writing! So many cheesy and predictable lines. You see all the plot twists and characters' lines coming, but there was one twist I didn't expect! Some scenes had me WTF-ing? It seemed like some scene segue-footage ended up on the editing room floor.

I went to see Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker with my husband and 18-year-old daughter. We all enjoyed the movie. It was entertaining and its strength lies in the visually stunning scenes.
They had many visual references to the original trilogy that hit me right in the feels. My daughter, who wasn't watching through "nostalgia" glasses commented on how visually stunning the movie was.

If you've seen all the other movies then you will want to see this one. If you think the Star Wars movies are meh...then you should wait for the DVD.

The whole family gives Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

  1. Thre os us saw this in 3D IMAX last night. Don't feel the 3D was worth any extra $$. We were 83, 56 and 49. The 49 year old was at the perfect age when Star Wars first came out to be a real fan, including Star Wars sheets on his bed. I think we all came out with the same unimpressed "meh" experience. Threads were wrapped up, old characters popped up, no matter how briefly, but the story and even special effects were never a wow for us.

It wrapped it up for me. I will not bother with any future movies or shows.

    3 stars.

    1. I think it comes down to what my youngest said...is it good or is it nostalgia? Did we ever find out what Finn wanted to tell Rey? I don't think we did... don't answer on here if you know so we don't spoil. But message me if you know.

  2. This is my favorite Star Wars movie right behind Star Wars Return of the Jedi. The Rise of Skywalker is a must-see for any Star Wars fan.
