New Release: Bright Moment and Others by Daniel Marcus

Bright Moment and Others
by Daniel Marcus
July 14, 2021
Wordfire Press
284 pages
Genre: fantasy, science fiction, short stories
Timeless tales of saints and scoundrels, sinners and seekers, all from epic fantasy and space opera worlds that are both alien and hauntingly familiar.

In worlds ranging from the distant past to the end of time, the characters in these stories seek solace, meaning, and redemption as they struggle with what it means to be human.

Sometimes funny, sometimes dark and edgy, these stories showcase Marcus' original voice and scrupulous attention to detail. Beautifully told in a range of genres you're sure to love, you won't want to stop reading from the first story through the last.

About the Author:
Daniel Marcus has published stories in many literary and genre venues, including Fantasy and Science Fiction, Asimov’s Science Fiction, ZYZZYVA, and Sinking City, to name a few. He is the author of the novels Burn Rate and A Crack in Everything, and a previous short story collection, Binding Energy.

Daniel was a finalist for the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer. He has taught in the creative writing programs at U.C. Berkeley Extension and Gotham Writers’ Workshop. He is a graduate of the Clarion West writers’ workshop, and the founder and co-host of The Story Hour, a weekly series of Livestream speculative fiction readings: storyhour2020.com.

After a spectacularly unsuccessful career attempt as a sax player, Daniel earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from U.C. Berkeley and has worked as an applied mathematician at the Lawrence Livermore Lab, the Lawrence Berkeley Lab, and Princeton’s Institute for Advanced Study. He then turned his attention to the private sector, where he has built and managed systems and software in a variety of problem domains and organizational settings.

  1. I often need to hold video conferences and this is basically how I communicate with colleagues and clients at work. I have tried different platforms and recently found video conferencing platform. It looks like a pretty easy-to-use app. For me, it is also an opportunity to always be in touch, even when I have a weak Internet connection. Moreover, it's great that I can choose different convenient formats for communication there

  2. Well yes, it has really become a problem now, and has been for many years. That people, with their knowledge, steal personal data on the Internet and can also cheat. I recently found a solution to this problem. Web paranoid is a browser extension from https://webparanoid.com/en that helps me to make sure that the browser is protected and that also detects malicious online stores.

  5. Balancing the demands of being a full-time student and a part-time employee is a tightrope walk. Fortunately, I've found my academic ally in pay for an essay. The writers here are not just experts but also paragons of punctuality. Moreover, their pricing structure is remarkably student-friendly. If you're grappling with a jam-packed schedule, don't think twice about giving them a shot.
