When Superman gets drawn into conflicts at home and abroad, his actions are questioned, giving tech billionaire Lex Luthor the opportunity to get the Man of Steel out of the way for good. Will intrepid reporter Lois Lane and Superman's four-legged companion, Krypto, be able to help him before it's too late?

The latest edition to the Superman universe starts out with a bang, almost too much of a bang. It kind of feels like the movie starts at the halfway point. I thought maybe I had missed something. But as it goes on, some of the holes are filled in. But not all of them!

The movie is written well, but kind of oddly. Once you get used to it, it makes things a little easier to just sit back and relax. Maybe the movie follows comic book lore, or maybe I'm just out of touch with Superman.

Toward the middle of the film, I started to really enjoy it. At some point, there must have been enough info to keep me interested and invested. Plus, I loved his metadog and all the weird and odd side characters. Mom and Dad, back in Kansas, were so freaking cute. The Lois character, however, was annoyingly just a tad too bossy or pushy. But aside from that, everyone else really helps keep things moving along.

By the end, I felt like the greatest Superman, Mr. Christopher Reeve, would have liked this latest edition. The super suit looked classic original, the icy super cave was awesome, and Lex was back to being a slimy bad guy bully.

Overall, it was funny at times and action-packed, entertaining with an extra cast of Meta folks who helped keep things interesting. A summer adventure for sure, with heart and surprisingly entertaining.

Still reeling from the loss of Gamora, Peter Quill rallies his team to defend the universe and one of their own - a mission that could mean the end of the Guardians if not successful.

*As a warning for those out there, the film does have some animal abuse, as the villains in this story are scientists operating on animals and not for helping them. So, these villains get what they deserve. Still, PETA has cheered that, saying:

“Through Rocket, James Gunn has put a face, a name, and a personality on the millions of vulnerable animals being cycled through laboratories as we speak. PETA is celebrating this as the best animal rights film of the year for helping audiences see animals as individuals and suggesting that just because we can experiment on them doesn’t mean that we should.” 

I agree, ecause it does happen and most of these animals are not real but computerized. Help stop animal testing for real out there. Enough of that.

The movie begins with the GOTG team being attacked by Adam Warlock, a Sovereign warrior created by their high priestess Ayesha. After Adam overpowers them and seriously wounds Rocket, he is stabbed by Nebula and forced to flee. The Guardians are unable to tend to Rocket's wounds due to a kill switch, made by the company Orgocorp, embedded in him.

They travel to Orgocorp's headquarters to find the override code. The alternate version of Gamora, who has joined the Ravagers, helps the Guardians infiltrate Orgocorp, which is owned by the High Evolutionary. They retrieve Rocket's file, but discover that the code has been removed. The group speculates that Theel, one of the High Evolutionary's advisors, has it, so they depart for Counter-Earth. They are followed by Ayesha and Adam, who are ordered by their creator, the High Evolutionary, to retrieve Rocket for his brain. 

The flashbacks in the movie show Rocket unconscious and obviously dreaming about when he was with other baby raccoons at an animal testing facility in space. All this builds to a climax where Rocket confronts the abusive scientist, the High Evolutionary, who is responsible for putting him on the road to becoming a hero and putting him and his friends through unspeakable pain, resolving, in the end, to prevent other animals from suffering the same fate.

The last film in this trilogy will have some sadness for folks at the end but happiness too. This last hurrah for our ragtag band of heroes is one that adds the finishing touch to a trilogy that was a wild, psychedelic-colored ride from the first film onward. This is a popcorn movie to see, just keep tissues on hand, but do know the villains get it and the heroes win. And isn’t that how a good movie should be?

Holy Sheep! This series is so flocking awesome! I don't know where to begin...

First of all, I know nothing about the Peacemaker DC canon story. Suicide Squad 2 was the first time I'd seen the character. And I didn't really like him. I wasn't a big John Cena fan either. But the character was funny in that "Snort! I can't believe he said that!" way.

The trailer for Peacemaker Season 1 was full of action (it's pretty violent) and I never say no to a superhero movie/series. It is probably my favorite comic TV series now (sorry WandaVision!). The whole cast (primary and secondary) was amazing in their roles. The characters' development from misfit loners into a team was full of heart.

The writing! I now understand why Peacemaker is the way he is and it isn't pretty. The show didn't shy away from some harsh topics but it was balanced with brilliant dark comedy. And the hair-metal band music score was fun. And the opening credits are hilarious. And...and...I could gush about it all day...lol.

Eagley wins best side-kick of the year.

Peacemaker Season 1 is a must-see.
