Holy Sheep! This series is so flocking awesome! I don't know where to begin...
First of all, I know nothing about the Peacemaker DC canon story. Suicide Squad 2 was the first time I'd seen the character. And I didn't really like him. I wasn't a big John Cena fan either. But the character was funny in that "Snort! I can't believe he said that!" way.
The trailer for Peacemaker Season 1 was full of action (it's pretty violent) and I never say no to a superhero movie/series. It is probably my favorite comic TV series now (sorry WandaVision!). The whole cast (primary and secondary) was amazing in their roles. The characters' development from misfit loners into a team was full of heart.
The writing! I now understand why Peacemaker is the way he is and it isn't pretty. The show didn't shy away from some harsh topics but it was balanced with brilliant dark comedy. And the hair-metal band music score was fun. And the opening credits are hilarious. And...and...I could gush about it all day...lol.

My husband and I have been waiting for this! I'll cut to the chase...it was worth it! The writers and director knew what we wanted, EPIC BATTLES! There are people running around to give a flimsy reason for the EPIC BATTLES.
The actors did their job, especially little Jia. That kid is awesome and her connection with Kong tugs at your heartstrings. If you are looking for the sci-fi part to make sense, don't. I mean...Godzilla makes a massive hole through the earth to Hollow Earth!
My husband and I both give it 4 1/2 sheep based on the entertainment value. We will watch it again. And I will make fun of all the plot holes again.

The pandemic has been a time where theaters closed in 2020 with some opening end of the year or 2021, and Regal reopening finally on April 1, 2021. Most of us have been binging on television, and movie production companies finally realized putting movies forward might cause many films to be forgotten, so they turned to streaming. Even Disney Plus is releasing its big films not just in theaters but on their streaming service. And Warner Bros. made a deal with HBO Max. Godzilla Vs. Kong not only premiered in theaters, but it also premiered on HBO Max (a better deal in my opinion as you have it for 30 days and can rewatch it as many times you want, unlike one time seeing on the movie screen.
Godzilla Vs Kong is not a film you watch to think or for social commentary—there are art house films for that. So, this movie will not be your cup of tea. But if you enjoyed those giant dinosaur movies as a kid and watch all the Godzilla and other monsters of Toho movies, then this movie is for you.
I was a kid when my parents dropped me off at the movie theater to see Toho’s King Kong vs. Godzilla. I sat up front and met two other kids and we had a blast. No, Toho’s King Kong was cheesy and not the more superior King Kong from 1933, but still, it’s a giant gorilla taking on a dinosaur because sorry, people, Godzilla began as a dinosaur who due to radiation, got the breath that way—I suggest not seeing the original Godzilla redone for America, but the original Japanese version which was darker.
In this latest rendition of the atomic-breath monster, Godzilla has attacked Florida, in particular, Apex Corporation. So, now it appears Godzilla no longer leaves humans alone but is out to get them.
Back on Skull Island, it appears only Kong and a mute girl, Jia (played by Kaylee Hottle) who communicates with Kong by sign language, but also psychically, is all that is left, and the island is now a containment for Kong, where a scientist, Rebecca Hall (played by Ilene Andrews), studies him and has care of Jia. When Nathan Lind (played by Alexander Skarsgård) approaches her with an idea to take Kong to Antarctica to the entrance that leads to the Hollow Earth, she is not sure at first, but in the end, they do it, by transporting Kong by ship and guarded by Navy ships. Sadly, they must go through Godzilla’s territory and the alpha attacks. Let us just say you get your first taste of the battle we have seen some of in the trailers here. I won’t go on and spoil it for you, so you can go see it for yourself, but there are more fights, monsters, and of course, there is a bad guy (Isn’t there always?).
Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven of Stranger Things fame) returns as Madison Russell from Godzilla King of the Monsters along with Kyle Chandler as Madison’s father, Mark Russell, now working for Monarch. Kaylee Hottle as Jia is a breakout star for me as Kong’s deaf friend. It was interesting to find she comes from an all-deaf family, spanning four generations of deaf relatives on her father's side. Her native fluency in American Sign Language has provided her with opportunities to perform in commercials and Mother’s Day.
Like I said earlier if you are looking for a movie to challenge your mind, search for art house films. Or read a book. But if you want a movie to forget the pandemic and just relax, cheer for your favorite, Godzilla Vs. Kong fits the bill. It is better than the first two films in my opinion, and even triumphs over Kong: Skull Island. Forget the humans, except for Jia, they are there to help the monsters or cause their demise, the monsters are the stars and that was what I wanted to see. Besides, you can always find some art house films on Netflix, Prime, or elsewhere if that is what you want. But I think this will be a winner, even for movie theaters. Let the clash of the century commence!

Doom Patrol is a team of traumatized and downtrodden superheroes, each of whom has suffered a horrible accident that gave them superhuman abilities but also left them scarred and disfigured. The members of the team have found their purpose through The Chief and have come together to investigate some of the world's weirdest phenomena. After The Chief mysteriously disappears, though, the reluctant heroes find themselves called to action by Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission that they cannot refuse. Doom Patrol -- part support group, part superhero team -- is a band of superpowered freaks fighting for a world that wants nothing to do with them.
Doom Patrol season 2 on HBO Max was just what I've come to expect with this acid-trip random-ass puppet show. DC brings the full array of nutballs and whack jobs from their closet, dusts them off, and lets them play house all over the screen. The show is intensely dark, weird, makes no sense at times, and yet makes all the sense in the universe at others. It's a mixed bag of Spam and Candy Canes in one bite. Yet, it freaking works!
As we pick up on season 2, we get to know Dorthy a lot better. She has her "friends" that make appearances here and there. But the main theme is the Candle Maker, we don't know what's up with the guy, but bad news is the theme. Jane continues to battle with all the voices inside her, the struggle to control and contain is draining on her and it gets hard to watch at times. And yet, I can't look away.
Cliff is still struggling to just BE. He's not happy most of the time and continues to find ways to blame everyone around him, yet we want him to find peace. Rita and Larry are in the same boat as well. We want them both to find peace, master their powers, and live a life that will be meaningful to them. However, nothing is ever easy in this universe and so the wash, rinse, repeat goes on and on. And yet, I can't look away.
Cyborg.....I don't know what to say, except he's so on his high horse at times. Almost judgmental. Which I find out of place with all the other characters. And yet, I can't look away!
Danny the Street has got to be one of my favorite characters from any of the shows I've recently watched. I would party there any day, any time! The world that DC has created draws you in and won't let you go. It is so weird and thus why it is so great. I can't look away, and I sure as hell don't want to.
From executive producer Ridley Scott, Raised by Wolves centers on two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet. As the burgeoning colony of humans threatens to be torn apart by religious differences, the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task.
As many of you probably also recently subscribed to HBO Max for Wonder Woman 1984, I now have access to the other goodies on the site. While I may not keep HBO long term, I wanted to get the most bang for my buck before canceling the service. Which lead me to Doom Patrol and then Raised by Wolves. Though I am a hardcore lover of vampires, the title of the show threw me off. But that was short-lived, no actual wolves are in the show. (thank the vampire gods)
Talk about a hardcore style sci-fi, holey freaking damn moley this show had me hooked from the first episode. Even though, to be quite honest, I had no damn clue what was going on. It's one of those shows that spoon-feeds you the tasty bits. I wanted the whole damn meal, and the freaking take-home baggy. What I did not expect at all was how awesome this show was going to be. So many twists and turns, so many meaningful and unique characters, so beautifully acted and executed. I can't say how much I enjoyed this show!
It's dark and it makes no apologies, you might get stabbed in the back or your throat sliced. You just never know what's coming and you love every second of the anticipation. The android characters are riveting! Mother is a badass and I loved every single thing about her, the good programs, and the ALL the bad. Watching her command the scene was everything I could have wished for in a sci-fi thriller style show. I can only hope that the second season is coming soon, cause my budget won't allow me to keep indulging long term. But hey, for now, this was one hell of a ride.
