Sheep Talk: Top 5 Movies of All Time

If you stop and really think about it, coming up with your own top 5 movies is really freaking hard! You can ONLY pick 5. That's it. We do this in my family at the dinner table every once in a while. We go around the horn and each picks our selection of 5. I thought it would be fun to share my 5 and hear from all of you in the comments about what 5 made your list. So here goes!

Katie's list

 Best Action of all time:
Has to go to Braveheart. I mean hands down this movie has it all! Say what you want about Mel Gibson, I adore him in this one. I always have, I always will. *wink, wink* If you've watched the movie you totes ma goats get that last sentence. But hands down and guts out this one has me shouting FREEDOM to the heavens above.

Best Sci-Fi of all time:
Really tough to pick from sooooo many but keeping to just one, it's got to be The Fifth Element. Chicken, good. I'll grab my multipass any day of the week for this non-stop action-packed sci-fi adventure. Chris Rock is hilarious in this one and the best role I've ever watched him in TBH, Gary Oldman is King. Love that man.

Best Western of all time:
Tombstone. All day. Every day. I'm your huckleberry. LOVE this movie. John Wayne is the OG and shout out to all his extensive work but nothing has the magic of this one in my book. Val is a boss and Ringo should have stopped foolin about! RIP'ieces Ringo.

Best Drama of all time:
2005 Pride and Prejudice. I am not lying. This movie is played at least once a month in my house. Judge me all you want but know that...I don't care! Best drama of all time. I can recite word for word if anyone ever wants to do some role play. Hit me up!

Best Animated of all time:
Ok, of all the above categories I always struggle the most with this one. I mean, one movie when I was 8 months pregnant had me crying non-stop, I watched another and cried 3 times and then this other one got me a few times as well. There's a theme here with kid movies, they get my heart string and I don't know why!!!! But picking one and only one has to go to Disney's Little Mermaid. This movie has always meant the most to me, it's special for myself and my Mom in Heaven. So Little Mermaid takes the magical sea cake (which should be a thing because now that I typed that it sounds delicious!).

Sharon's list
I'm gonna preface this with the fact that I can't pick the best of anything. My mind goes blank and my list can change based on the mood I'm in. So the best I can do is pick movies that I love right now and find myself quoting lines from them in every situation.
(This list will change many times before this posts)
Edit: I finished this post 10 minutes ago and now I want to add The Mummy (1999).

All Marvel movies. Okay, I'm kind of cheating right off the bat here, but I have thoroughly enjoyed every Marvel movie that has been released so far. Deadpool might be #1 but Civil War and Guardians of the Galaxy are awesome too...then there is Winter Soldier and Thor: Ragnarok...see what I mean?

Best Western
Going with Katie on this one. Tombstone is full of awesome actors. I'll be Val Kilmer's Huckleberry any day!

Best Sci-Fi
Independence Day is one of those movies that I can't pass up if it is on.ll I, Robot falls into this category too and I can include it because they both have Will Smith.

Best Comedy
Dodgeball has me rolling everytime I see it. I quote lines from this one ALL the time. "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball." "No one makes me bleed my own blood."

Best Sentimental movie
Ladyhawke has always held a special place in my heart. I think it was the first love story movie that touched my heart. I was a Rutger Hauer fan from then on. So I can include Bladerunner cause Rutger is in that one ;)

Sheep Talk with Katie: Supernatural Television Show

Does anyone remember watching the very first episode Pilot way back in September of 2005? Anyone? [Sharon raises hand] I admit I didn't even get into this show until a couple years ago. I had heard about it and certainly knew who Jensen Ackles was because I grew up on the best Soap EVER Days of Our Lives. Jensen played the twin to his evil sister Sammy Brady on that show. So knowing well who one of the main actors was, I was still resistant to tune in and watch. I thought it was all just a bunch of hogwash hype. Nothing could be that good. [Sharon just shakes her head cause she knows...]
It wasn't until my best friend and Sheep partner Sharon told me to just watch the damn thing! [Sharon nods cause did tell her multiple times] So I did. Surprise, surprise. I was not disappointed. This show has that magical something that helps keep it going for over 12 years. The brothers, of course, are awesome, they love each other and fight just like any family would. They both have that special sauce dripping all over them and it works. The writing works. Urban legends coming to life. Angels and Demons, Heaven and Hell it all works!
[Sharon shares two of her favorite scenes]

So here we are in the current 13th season SPOILERS NOW and God has shown himself, God's sister was/is crazy but we love her. Lucifer has a son named Jack who was just born a few weeks ago as a full man and he's already been up and down the dark and dirty road. I was scared to death of Jack in the first few episodes but now I like him. He's probably going to die soon, cause duh everyone dies on this show!
Now with the mid-season break, we're left to wonder what will happen to Jack, the Winchester mommy and the brothers we love to itty bitty pieces. Let's not forget about Castiel our favorite Angel buddy! What will happen in the new dimensions that everyone has been thrust into? It's obvious that dinosaurs of some kind are getting introduced. Will Sam and Dean ride on one? Only if the Gods are good my friends. Only if.
I never know what's going to happen next, what actors will make cameos. What pie Dean's going to chomp on and who Sam's going to want to save. Oh, Sam's good ole bleeding heart! I never know and I love not knowing. BUT no matter what, the boys will do it all their way and have hella fun in the process. This show continues to be the most entertaining thing on TV.

Deal me in every week.

KD

Do you watch Supernatural or are you still holding out? Why do you or don't you watch? Do you have a favorite Supernatural moment? And will you watch Wayward Sisters? [Sharon says she can't wait for it.]

Book Review: Feast of Chaos (Four Feasts Till Darkness) (Volume 3) by Christian A. Brown

Feast of Chaos (Four Feasts Till Darkness) (Volume 3)
by Christian A. Brown
September 23, 2016
Publisher: Forsythia Press
Pages: 698
ASIN: B01M1ESQ3Y ISBN: 9780994014429
Menos has been destroyed. No corner of the realm of Geadhain is safe from the Black Queen’s hunger. Zionae—or the Great Dreamer, as she has been called in ancient tongues—has a thirst that cannot be quenched until all of Geadhain burns and bleeds. She preys on the minds of weak men and exploits human folly for an unhuman end. She cannot be defeated in her current state, but the answer to her downfall may lie in the land of her past.

It is with this aim that a Daughter of Fate, Morigan, and her brave and true companions venture to the mysterious Pandemonia, the land of chaos itself. Ancient secrets and even older power lurk in its swamps and deserts. Life itself becomes uncertain, but the Hunters of Fate have no choice: Pandemonia must give up its secrets if they want to find the Black Queen’s weakness.

Elsewhere in the realm, alliances form and break. Dead men rise and heroes fall. Eod prepares for war. In hiding, Lila, the bearer of its destruction, will be given a chance to atone and answer for her sins. Will her actions save Eod, or has she damned it with her crimes?

This is the third book in the dark, gritty, epic fantasy series. Christian A. Brown continues the delicate dance of progressing the possible destruction of Geadhain with the struggle to save it. Daughter of Fate, Morigan is back with Caenith as they lead their pack into another round of excitement, battles, success and emotional revelations. It grows more complicated when they’re split into two packs and their goals switched up. No matter, they forge on to stay ahead of the Black Queen and her followers.

But theirs isn’t the only arc in this novel. There is Lila (Magnus’s queen) and his adopted son/her lover, Erik. Also, the immortal Everfair king, Magnus, Gustavius, the Iron Queen, Gloriatrix, and many others.

Besides a wolf shapeshifter, Caenith, there are blood eaters, who normally look terrifying and horrible, but can disguise themselves as human women. There are other monsters too. The story begins with the three sisters (crone, woman, and child) and it ends with them. There are several sub-plots, just like in the previous two books, that the author sums up in the finale, concluding all the plots into one. And yet, we sense there is more to this story—that it hasn’t ended.

The characters are well-developed and drive this fantasy series. There are battles, quests, heroes, and villains. Romance, death, betrayal, and new beginnings. Everything a fantasy fan looks for in their books. If George RR Martin had a child with JRR Tolkien, this series might be the result.

Review: Feast of Fates (Four Feasts Till Darkness) (Volume 1)
Review: Feast of Dreams (Four Feasts Till Darkness #2)

I give Feast of Chaos (Book Three of The Four Feasts Until Darkness Series) 5 sheep.
