Divided begins not long after the conclusion of Dualed with West having defeated her Alternate now finishing school and helping with weapons training. She is through killing and just wants to live her life. As with many life plans bureaucracy steps up to the plate offering a deal that just might be worth killing for.
Divided was a very well written story that opened all the dark emotions associated with treachery, betrayal, and even some hope for the possibility of something better. We revisit familiar characters, as well as meet some new ones with a group to cheer on and the baddies you want to hate.
This is not a light tale, but again a story filled with brutality and gut wrenching choices to be made, and I found myself glued to the pages eager to find out how it all played out. I would recommend this read to dystopian fans, although would suggest reading book one, Dualed, first to better appreciate the world building and back story for this tale. I will definitely continue to watch for more from this author for my reading list. I received this book via NetGalley.
