WIP it Real Good: Christina Bauer shares from her new SciFi romance Dimension Drift + giveaway

W.I.P – The Hottie Alien Love Interest Of UMBRA
By Christina Bauer

As part of the launch tour for my new book, LINCOLN, the lovely folks at I Smell Sheep have asked me to share a snippet from a current W.I.P (Work In Progress). In the spirit of loving a hero who is noble, kissable, and swoon-worthy—like Lincoln!—I am sharing a bit about Thorne, the alien love interest in my new series, Dimension Drift.

Imagine the heist fun of Ocean’s Eight … crossed with the dystopian future of Divergent … and then add in a little Star Lord yummy man candy from Guardians of the Galaxy … and that’s pretty much the Dimension Drift series. UMBRA is one of the prequel novellas and it launches in March 2019. The first full book, ALIEN MINDS, launches in April 2019.

Without further ado, here’s the snippet!

Nine minutes.

That’s how long before this planet implodes.

I’m talking about a version of Earth that supports thousands of cities. Millions of buildings. Billions of people. Right now, I’m all that stands between them and instant annihilation.

Welcome to my Tuesday.

I’m Thorne Oxblood, and I fight inter-dimensional disasters.

Leaning against the back wall of Clyde’s Gym, I scan the place for the hundredth time. Something in here is a ticking bomb, but what? This parallel instance of Earth broke off from the prime strain in the 1950’s. Got stuck there, too. Case in point: some teenagers lurk in a corner with pomade-slick hair, white T-shirts, and cuffed jeans. Others guys train on punching bags. Even more lift weights or jump rope. The smell of sweat and sneaker rot is everywhere.

And then there’s me, an eighteen-year-old with a muscular build, short hair, brown eyes, and gray sweats.

I look human.

I’m not.

So there you have it; a sample from my latest W.I.P!! Thanks SO MUCH for asking me to stop by—I had a blast sharing my work and I look forward to returning on a future tour!

***Experience the events of Angelbound from Prince Lincoln’s point of view…And then enjoy an all-new part of his story!***

When it comes to fighting demons, Prince Lincoln is the greatest warrior in the history of his people, the thrax. Now Lincoln faces his hardest fight yet…and it’s not on a traditional battlefield.

Lincoln is falling in love. And the girl is part demon.

Between a fated dance at the Ryder mansion…a life-changing walk through a hedgerow maze…and a massive battle with none other than the King of Hell…Lincoln realizes that he wants to share his life with Myla Lewis, the part-demon girl who has captured his heart. However, an evil thrax noble—the powerful Earl of Acca—is prepared to do anything to stop Lincoln and Myla from having a future.

But Lincoln won’t give up on his Myla. Ever.

To fight Aldred, Lincoln works to create a different kind of marriage—an Alliance of the lesser thrax houses against Acca. Sadly, just as Lincoln starts to makes some progress, the nobles who’ve joined his Alliance begin to vanish. Is Aldred behind the disappearances, or is someone else vying for power? When Lincoln discovers the truth, it upends his entire world, threatening his future with Myla in ways no one could ever have imagined.

About the Author:
Christina Bauer thinks that fantasy books are like bacon: they just make life better. All of which is why she writes romance novels that feature demons, dragons, wizards, witches, elves, elementals, and a bunch of random stuff that she brainstorms while riding the Boston T. Oh, and she includes lots of humor and kick-ass chicks, too.

Christina graduated from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School with BA’s in English along with Television, Radio, and Film Production. She lives in Newton, MA with her husband, son, and semi-insane golden retriever, Ruby.
