WTF-ery? with Paranormal Mystery Author Devon Taylor + giveaway

I really do not enjoy talking about myself, but this seemed like a fun way to get out of my shell a little bit and talk about some part of my history that not a lot of people would guess. So here goes nothing. Top Four weird/crazy/fun facts about me!

1. I’m a total metalhead. Or, as my friend Floyd would call me, a “hammerneck.” In terms of music, I’ll listen to anything that sounds good. But when I’m by myself and no one else has to put up with it, I blast some of the heaviest, fastest, loudest music I can. I’d call it a guilty pleasure, but I tend to side with Tom Hiddleston in the realm of pleasures and not feeling guilty about them. I can put up my horns and throw down with the best of them.

2. When I was in middle school, I went through a “brief” phase where I carried a briefcase instead of a backpack. Which is not really weird or crazy or fun, since I was picked on relentlessly for it. But it was part of my style, and I was actually pretty unapologetic about it. In fact, I think the only reason I even switched back to a backpack was because the handle on the briefcase broke. Some kids went through a goth phase, some kids went through an emo phase, other kids went through a briefcase phase. As long as you’re being the person you want to be, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.

3. I know my wife is “the one” for a lot of different reasons. But one of the biggest signs early on in our relationship came straight from the universe itself. I was living in this really bizarre furnished apartment not far from where my job was at the time. There was a giant rock in foyer, set against a wallpapered forest scene. My wife, before she was my wife, came over for dinner one night and was baffled by the rock. Later on, she went home and started describing the layout of my apartment to her mom. Before she could even say anything about the rock, her mom said, “Oh yeah! And there’s a giant rock in the foyer, right?” It turns out that I was living in the exact same apartment that my wife’s father had been living in when he met her mother. If that’s not serendipity, I don’t know what is.

4. Writing books is my side hustle. For my day job, I work at a very famous guitar manufacturer in Nazareth, PA (yes, that very famous guitar manufacturer in Nazareth, PA) where I get to string and play beautiful guitars all day long. Sometimes it’s a grind, but mostly I’m just grateful to be happy about going to work. The company is amazing, the people I work with are awesome, and it’s kind of a nine-hour jam session every day. Zero complaints from me.

That’s all I’ve got! Thanks for taking the time to learn more than you cared to know about me! And, if you’re still even remotely interested at this point, I hope you enjoy Dagger Hill and thanks for reading!!
