Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows- Part 2

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows-Part 2 directed by David Yates stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Ralph Fiennes and Helena Bonham Carter. The final movie in Rowling's long-running series drew hordes of people to the early morning showing I attended. With cape and wand in hand I nervously waited through the plethora of trailers to finally feast my eyes on the last film. If you have read the Potter books you of course will nit pick at parts being changed and removed throughout the series of films. While s

ome of the major scenes from the book get a bit tweaked to suit a broader audience, I was very satisfied with the ending film.

Plot:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, is the final adventure in the Harry Potter film series. The much-anticipated motion picture event is the second of two full-length parts. In the epic finale, the battle between the good and evil forces of the wizarding world escalates into an all-out war. The stakes have never been higher and no one is safe. But it is Harry Potter who may be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice as he draws closer to the climactic showdown with Lord Voldemort. It all ends here.

As another installment of the epic saga of good vs. evil fighting to control the wizarding world, Harry once again has the weight of the world resting on his shoulders. Now on the cusp of adulthood he sets out once again with his two best friends to find the final horcruxes and remove the evil that has been plaguing the wizarding world thus far. It's such an action packed ride you can't help getting caught up in the film as if a giant hand just reaches out of the screen and grabs a hold of you! Part 2 packs an emotional punch as well with numerous touching scenes throughout, add to that a bit of graphic violence and you'll surely fear for our favorite Brits. This emotional roller coaster will leave audiences enjoying the final ride of the series. It comes close to being the best movie the franchise has cranked out to date in my opinion. Any other ending (or lack there of) would have left the book fans and audiences shaking there muggle heads in disgust.

While the action may have been the center of Part 2, the more quiet dialog between characters held me just as strongly. All the actors came ready to do the work, at this point the roles must be second nature to them. Truly a great movie and while it may have gotten a few things wrong compared to the books, overall it has delivered a great ending. If you have yet to watch any of the films or read the books please do not start with the last movie and work your way back! lol. It's an adventure for any age and one that Ithroughly have enjoyed. Thanks Potter for the fond memories. *rides off into the sunset*

The King's Speech

The King's Speech directed by Tom Hooper stars Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter. Fantastic from beginning to end, I loved this film and everyone in it! :)

Storyline:
The King's Speech tells the story of the man who became King George VI of England, and the father of Queen Elizabeth II. After his brother abdicates, George ('Bertie') reluctantly assumes the throne. Plagued by a dreaded stammer and considered unfit to be king, Bertie engages the help of an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue. Through a set of unexpected techniques, and resulting in an unlikely friendship, Bertie is able to find his voice and boldly lead his country through World War II.

During a historic time for the world when a country needed a King that they could follow, Colin Firth became that character with beautiful ease. An amazing performance that should hopefully win him many more awards. Just brilliant.

Accompanied by the talented and beautiful Helena Carter, you can almost taste the pain and sorrow she feels in having to watch as her husband struggle with a life long stammer. Truly amazing, I have no idea why more movies of this caliber are not made.

Geoffrey rounds out the trio as the speech therapist who works to make the King become a worthy monarch. The quirky and humorous therapist has a long and tuff road ahead of him, but he continues down that path and never gives up.

Cinematography was outstanding, phenomenal directing, wonderfully written script delivered by talented actors. All around a must see. :) I will wipe the drool from my face now lol.
