Following a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.

Well... Army of the Dead has all the predictable bank heist/zombie movie troupes they could shove in and delivers action/horror movie goodness with a dose of snark. It has one hell of an opening credit scene--a music montage of the fall of Las Vegas to a zombie horde.

I just don't know how I feel about Zack Snyder's vision...I've seen Justice League and Army of the Dead and I see his brilliance but also his weaknesses...so I'm pulled in two different directions. Which makes it hard to review Army of the Dead.

I'm really on the fence about what I think. My husband and I agree, it has some great scenes but I can't tell you what we had issues with because it will spoil the ending. If you want to know you can highlight: all but one person dies...it seemed like such a waste. I know most horror movies end that way but this time it bothered me.  But there is also some clever storytelling going on...there is going to be a prequel and possible other spin-offs.

It is 2 1/2 hours long, but there is enough action to keep your interest. If you love zombie movies and willing to jump over some plot holes (some might be intentional), you'll want to catch this one.

The zombie-killing action is at least 4 1/2 "zombie baby" sheep!

The story gets 3 1/2 "Easy peasy" Sheep

Justice League was entertaining. Went to see it with my husband and 16-year-old daughter. My husband liked it more than Thor: Ragnarok, but I think that has more to do with Wonder Woman. 

Gotham City is just such a sad and dark place and the movies reflect that. Ezra Miller's Flash was the one bright spot. He was so freaking cute and had all the best lines. I was surprised at how much I liked Cyborg and the way they handled his backstory. Really hits you in the feels. I was a little disappointed with the depiction of Wonder Woman compared to the Wonder Woman movie. There were a lot of shots that focused on her butt...I mean, it is a nice one, but there was more emphasis on her looks in this movie. The Amazons wore two-piece armor so their bellies were exposed. But to be fair, Aquaman was shirtless so it kind of balances out. I like Ben Aflack as Bruce Wayne, but I'm not a fan of the Batman costume. It has no flexibility. I'm not sure he can even sit in that thing. He moves around like an action figure without any movable parts.

There were lots of great action scenes between the villain Steppenwolf (He has mommy issues.) and our Superheros. Thor: Ragnarok set the superhero movie bar kind of high for me and Justice League didn't quite reach it. But it looks great on the big screen so it is worth seeing.

KATIE'S REVIEW

I didn't get all the same warm fuzzes Sharon and fam did. Not at all. I wanted to. It just didn't happen. That really does make me sad too. I may not be a big DC fan BUT I do love heroes and hot guys with their shirts off. *swoon for Aquaman!*

This movie was missing a ton of pieces when it came to story-line. The Amazon gals looked weak sauce, acted weak and fought weak which that right there really bugged me. The team overall just did not work for me, Batman was totally different in this movie as in any other movie I have ever seen the character. Even Val Kilmer did a better job. The new Flash was cute but got annoying just as quickly. Cyborg was the only one I actually liked and was invested in.

The CGI left much to be desired, what the Hades happened! Overall, the movie was middle of the road. I wanted better. Expected better. Didn't happen. That's how it goes sometimes.

Sheep Movie Review: Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice

Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) share the screen in this Warner Bros./DC Entertainment co-production penned by David S. Goyer and Chris Terrio, and directed by Zack Snyder. Amy Adams and Diane Lane return as Lois Lane and Martha Kent, respectively.

As a whole, I'm not a rabid DC Comics fan. I don't really dislike the franchise per-say, my tastes tend to sway in the ways of Marvel. It's like saying you like Coke or Pepsi. Most have one they prefer and that's just the way it is. That said, I did really and truly want to see this film and I didn't go into it with any judgement or hate. Just overall love and support for comics and of course hot men in tight suits. Rarr!

Batman v Superman is jam packed with multiple themes, strife and struggle. The Alien who can't find his place in the universe and the aging vigilantly with a chip on his shoulder. It's all well and good but, on the big screen, in a couple hour time-frame, there is a ton to take in. So be ready to process scenes quickly and small little queues. We're on a ticking movie time clock folks!

As the story moves along we have two alphas trying to almost vie for top dog of Gotham. I mean, can't we play with our toys nicely boys? In walks our soon to be Wonder Woman and she sure can take on just about anything it seems. I liked her character a bunch and if you're familiar with the Fast and Furious franchise you will recognizer her too.

Amy Adams kinda drew the short straw on this one. She's so talented but her character is almost lack luster and unable to communicate at moments. Lois needs to get saved by her main squeeze more then twice and that's just too much in my girl-power book! Points lost on that front for sure.

There's tons of CGI action afoot, was it to the point of overabundance....yeah sometimes but isn't that the way of super hero movies? Don't comic pages often take the reader on epic journeys? Shouldn't the film do the same? I think they can make those liberties and while I am not one for the over the top, I do like some bang bang for my buck. Give me good dialog, action, struggle and some actors who can bring their A-Game! THEN I'm a happy movie goer.

While I wont spoil this fill, I will say there are tastes of the other DC charters who are getting their own movies soon(ish). Hey no one can ever be Michael Keaton as Batman in this gals book, but they can all sure try. Heads up, there was no extra scene after the credits.
