Upcoming Penguin books + give away

Here are 4 new releases from Penguin I received. I want to share the love. One winner will get their choice. Open to everyone.

Fated (an Alex Verus Novel)
Release: February 28, 2012

Alex Verus is a diviner, able to see the future. This is impressive to most people but less so to other mages, who can do things like throw fire, disintegrate things, and fly. Right now Alex has a problem – a site’s been discovered containing an ancient and powerful relic, and lots of people are looking for a diviner to open it, including a trio of dark mages, a faction of the Council with an agenda of their own, and a shadowy figure out of Alex’s past, all of whom are looking to recruit, press-gang, or kill Alex, not necessarily in that order.
As if that’s not enough, Alex has to take care of his would-be apprentice, who has some connection to the relic which is making her a target as well . . . and who also just happens to carry a curse that’ll kill anyone who gets too close, assuming the mages hunting her don’t do it first. His allies are an air elemental with the memory of a goldfish and a creature living under Hampstead Heath that would make most people run screaming.
Sometimes seeing the future isn’t as fun as it sounds.

  1. Interesting set of books. They look like great reads. If I had to eat the same food all the time, I am not sure what I would pick. Potato chips maybe. debby236 at gmail dot com

  2. Hm, not an easy choice... maybe pizza, that way I could cheat and have it varied :-) but if not then maybe Nasi Goreng (Thai fried rice with grilled chicken and vegetables).

  5. Rice, that way I could add ingredients and spices to make it different so I wouldn't get tired of it. I love red beans and rice so I'd probably be eating that a lot.

  10. It would easily be pizza. I probably eat it too much as it is, but I could easily eat it every single day without complaint. Well, my bathroom scale would complain.

  11. Great bunch of books, I'd love any of them. If I had to eat the same food for dinner every day, I would have to choose something healthy, or I'd be huge at the end of the year. So I'd say turkey, green beans, and my favorite-cheese and crackers.
