All his life, Reyes Alexander Farrow has suffered the torments of the damned. Only one thing has given him hope: the woman who radiates a light that no mortals can see; a light that only the departed can see...

Told from his point of view, BRIGHTER THAN THE SUN chronicles the first time Reyes ever encountered Charley, and how their relationship has been the one thing that can either save him or doom him.

It has been a while since I have indulged by obsession with Charlie Davidson and Reyes Farrow. I have had this book on my TBR shelf since last year but was busy reviewing many other great book and it was lost in the pile. Picking this up was like returning home.

After the initial chapter I regained my bearings and once again became emerged in the story of Reyes. The story of his beginning and purpose for discovering Charlie (Dutch) in this earthly platform only adds to his intrigue (although a lot of the story was eluded to or already included in some of the other issues). It was nice to dedicate an entire issue to his voice.

Mesmerizing ...a term I don't throw around lightly but use easily for this series written by Darynda Jones. Who wouldn't be enticed by a "bad boy gone good", hunter turned protector and a vessel of light put here to help humanity. Sign me up for the decades of stories I can envision as these two continue to battle the dark side! And thank you Ms. Jones for telling Reyes' story and putting more meat on the table. I think it is a good thing this was not the initial book in the series because it means more to those of us that are already familiar with Reyes and Charlie. This novella was not absolutely necessary for the health and welfare of these reads but definitely is a decadent dessert for those of use that enjoy everything Reyes!

Getting 5 sheep from this obsessed fan.
