Get your wild on . . . And what’s with that moon? A post by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom

Get your wild on . . . And what’s with that moon?
A post by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom

Hello to the I Smell Sheepsters on board today and still kicking after the recent full moon.

It was a very special moon, you know, because I met a werewolf while visiting downtown Los Angeles, and Jared James told me a thing or two about moons that I didn’t know. For instance . . .

The moon is not round. Instead, it's shaped like an egg. If you go outside and look up, one of the small ends is pointing right at you.

What? An egg ???

And . . . guess what else? The moon is a thief!

As you read this, the moon is moving away from us. Each year, the moon steals some of Earth’s rotational energy, and uses it to propel itself about 3.8 centimeters higher in its orbit.

So, what does this mean for werewolves?

The one I met recently told me that that same lunar gravitational pull on the Earth is what pulls the beast inside a werewolf to the surface, exposing what lies beneath the human disguise. That pull is always there when the moon is visible, he said . . . but when the moon is full, the gravitational pull is 10x as strong, and therefore impossible for the animal tucked inside Were DNA to resist.

Thank you Jared James for turning me on to those facts, and for well . . . turning me on. Because, well, have you seen Jared?

He’s on the cover of the new anthology my latest story about Weres is in – in a rare appearance in front of a camera.

The anthology is URBAN WOLF.

Jared is the star of my novella “Wolf in the City.”

Here’s what Wolf in the City is about:

Deep in the heart of L.A., in an area that cops and gangs fear, lone wolf Jared James stands guard, hoping to keep others from suffering a similar fate to the one he has endured. He is on a mission to find the monster that made him what he is. Meeting Kit, a feisty vampire with a mission of her own, will either help or hinder his chances to accomplish that goal . . . but could possibly bridge the divide between two species, and make the long nights much more interesting.

But wait! That’s not all . . . because Jillian Stone is in this 2-novella anthology with me, and she is no virgin when it comes to werewolves. When we went wolf hunting, Jill took London, and I took L.A. We both found what we were looking for . . . and compiled our notes. Her story is titled Wolf, Interrupted.

Today is our book birthday! It’s release day for URBAN WOLF. A limited time anthology of 2 sinfully sexy shape-shifter novellas from two women writers who know these hot
guys first hand . . . and are willing to share them with you . . . for a limited time.

Birthday celebration price for the ebook is
just $1.99.
The print book is very pretty. You can hold Jared in your very own hands!

Arrrooooo…….

So. Are you there? Are you happy? Do you love Weres?

Leave a comment. Wave back. Have a slice of book-birthday cake. And please check out this book. Jillian and I will be very happy if you do.

Cheers for now.
Linda

Never try to deny the she-wolf inside.
Elle Hathaway has spent most of her young life in fear of herself. At least the part of her that grows fangs and claws. With the help of a lycanthrope suppressant, she’s made it through puberty, university, even her first job without so much as a shift. Then one night, deep in the tunnels of the Underground, her life changes forever.

Detective Inspector Abelseth Durant is investigating the lethal mauling of an unknown victim in the Covent Garden tube station, and Ms. Elle Hathaway is a person of interest. Sensing her wolf nature, he is mystified by the lovely young woman, and when Elle is abducted by a rival pack, Abelseth realizes he is being pulled back into London’s wolfen underworld.

Shaken out of blissful denial, Elle teams up with the handsome inspector to evade the renegade pack. But as her situation grows dire, Abelseth knows the only way he can truly protect the strong-willed beauty is to convince her to shift and claim her as his mate. There’s just one little problem with his plan—the reluctant Ms. Hathaway.
