Guest Post: Stop and Smell the Zombies by Angela Roquet +giveaway

Stop and smell the zombies….
By: Angela Roquet

Does your room smell like a morgue? Bits of flaky green flesh littering your carpet? Has your wardrobe been hijacked by an undead diva? Zombies are stinky, icky creatures, but if one happens to infect your closet, here are a few helpful tips to keep your mother from sniffing out your ghoulish guest.

1. Feed it baking soda. In fact, feed it all of the baking soda you can find. Your mother might flip out the next time she goes to bake cookies, but trust me, this is much better than the alternative.

2. Start hoarding air fresheners. Aerosol cans are best. Your zombie guest can spray them under her arms like deodorant.

3. To keep your mother from noticing any strange, zombie fluids on your bedding and clothes, wash your own laundry. Besides, you’ll want to use some extra soap and hot water, just for your peace of mind. Who knows, that thing in your closet could be contagious.

4. To keep molting down to a minimum, casually suggest that your guest try out the shed in your backyard at bedtime. This may only work during the winter months, as the cold will slow down her rate of decay. If it’s warmer outside, hopefully you have a deep freeze you can suggest instead. (Bonus: you’ll get better quality sleep without those filmy fish eyes staring out at you through the slats in your closet door.)

5. When all else fails and the smell becomes too unbearable, try refreshing your zombie with a shot of chicken blood. The best quality is straight from the butcher, but if that’s not an option, you can always slice, mash, and juice any chicken breast you have on hand. Once again, your mother might flip out, but it’s all in the name of love… and a bedroom you can breathe in.

Book Review: Crazy Ex-Ghoulfriend by Angela Roquet

Janie Parker is in love with the boy next door, but he's dating Miss Popular. That is, until she wraps her car around a tree and bites the dust. Just when things settle down and Janie thinks that she might have a shot at going to prom with the boy next door, Miss Popular comes back from the grave, and she's one crazy ex-ghoulfriend.

Janie, a teenager who has been in love with her next door neighbor since they were young kids, thinks she may finally have a chance with the boy of her dreams when his girlfriend is killed in a car accident.

Wayne, the boy that all the girls seem to want (Okay, maybe just the two main girls in the story) is hurt in a car accident that kills his girlfriend. His college scholarship is taken away and his parents ground him for what he fears may be a very long time because he went to a party that served alcohol.

Matilda is the mean girl that gets killed in a car accident. I started off right away disliking her character and no amount of what she went through or how she seemed to change as the book went on changed my dislike of her.

This book was slow to start but about half way through, the pace really picks up and the story gets going in such a way that I wanted to keep reading to see what was going to happen next.

I felt like I was back in high school watching all those popular kids and their drama which was interesting since I didn't have that sort of drama while I was in high school.

I don't read many YA (Young Adult) novels because frankly, I didn't think I'd be able to relate to the characters, but with this book at least, I was wrong. Because this book has a paranormal aspect to it, ie...the girlfriend dying and coming back to life. I think I liked it just a bit more than I would have without that paranormal edge to it since I mainly read paranormal genre books. I very much enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading more from this author.

If you enjoy YA with an edge of paranormal, teenage drama, and a little voodoo thrown in for good measure, then you'll enjoy this book.

I give this book 4 sheep

Spotlight: Angela Roquet's FOR THE BIRDS Blog Tour + Giveaway

GRAVEYARD SHIFT
Lana Harvey, Reapers Inc., Book 1
Available exclusively at Amazon: Only $0.99 for Kindle | Paperback

The Inferno has Evolved… Lana Harvey is a reaper, and a lousy one at that. She resides in Limbo City, the modern capital of the collective afterlives, where she likes to stick it to the man (the legendary Grim Reaper himself) by harvesting the bare minimum of souls required of her. She’d much rather be hanging out with Gabriel, her favorite archangel, at Purgatory Lounge. But when a shocking promotion falls in her lap, Lana learns something that could unravel the very fabric of Eternity. If the job isn't completed, there could be some real hell to pay.

POCKET FULL OF POSIES
Lana Harvey, Reapers Inc., Book 2
Available exclusively at Amazon: Kindle | Paperback The promise of peace in Limbo City is threatened once again, but this time the terrorists have a more specific target in mind: Lana Harvey. The up and coming reaper thought passing her classes at the Reaper Academy was going to be her biggest challenge, but when a rebel demon sends her apartment up in flames, she realizes that her victories from the previous year haven’t gone so unnoticed after all… To make matters worse, the Afterlife Council has taken notice of Lana too. The Egyptian god Horus is blackmailing her into joining the Posy Unit so she can do an illegal side job for him, and Cindy Morningstar, Lucifer’s daughter, insists that she take a two week training course with the devilishly tempting Beelzebub, much to her angelic boyfriend’s chagrin.

FOR THE BIRDS
Lana Harvey, Reapers Inc., Book 3
COMING SOON exclusively at Amazon: Kindle | Paperback Lana Harvey isn't just any reaper. She's the new captain of the Posy Unit, a specialty group dedicated to harvesting mass quantities of souls from natural disaster sites, battlefields, and the like. The new title didn't come without a price though. Lana made some promises along the way, and now it's time to follow through... even if that means putting herself in the path of the three Fates, a fickle and mighty force to be reckoned with. The Fates run a soul recycling plant in Limbo City, and if Lana isn't careful, they just might recycle her.
