Lost and Stolen Gods (Labyrinth of Gods, #1) by Debbie Cassidy

Lost and Stolen Gods (Labyrinth of Gods, #1)
by Debbie Cassidy
April 4th 2025
Genres: Adult, Fantasy, Romance
Gods aren’t born, they’re made.

I should have died the same night that a monster murdered my grandmother, but I was saved, stolen from my world, and thrown into a realm ravaged by an endless war between ancient gods called Asura.

I’m told that I’m a demigod, that there are others like me, brought to this world to replenish their dwindling numbers. They want us to prove we’re worthy of ascension and fight alongside them.

I don’t give a damn about their war. All I want is vengeance on the monster that killed my only family. A monster from their world. And if the only way to kill it is to become a god, then I’m all in.

But the path of ascension is paved with dangerous tests, culminating in a lethal trial called the labyrinth of gods.

Only an ancient fire elemental has the power to help me survive it.

His wicked mouth sets my pulse racing, and his dark threats turn my blood to ice. Charismatic and terrifying, he attracts and repels me in equal measure, and I have no doubt he’d snap my neck in a heartbeat if freed from the magical bonds that compel him to aid me.

He hopes to be my undoing, and if I’m not careful I may not make it to the labyrinth alive.

To claim the vengeance that I desire, I’ll need to protect my body and shield my mind, but most of all, I’ll need to guard my heart.

Enter an Otherworldly realm filled with gods, monsters, and mystical beings. Opposites attract and love and conflict collide, in this forced proximity romance.

Excerpt: The Stone Initiation (Gargoyles of Stonehaven, #1) by Debbie Cassidy + giveaway

The Stone Initiation
(Gargoyles of Stonehaven, #1)
by Debbie Cassidy
Publication date: May 11th 2023
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance
There’s no place for a half blood at the gargoyle table.

I’ve been a shameful secret all my life. Shunned by my pureblood gargoyle father to keep up appearances. But it never mattered because I had Romi.

My half-brother. My best friend. My true family.

Until death took him from me.

They say it was an accident. I say that’s bull.

They’re hiding something, and the only way to get to the truth is to step into Romi’s world.

Stonehaven Academy is where Romi worked with his elite guard to hone the next generation of warriors, and it’s where I’ll find my answers.

A world where I’ll be pitted against pureblood gargoyles and not expected to survive. A world of secrets, revelations, and forbidden fruit in the form of Serath—the lethally beautiful sigma leader of the elite team.

If I want answers, I’ll need to get close to the sigma. I’ll need to play with fire and be prepared to get burned.

But there’s a reason Serath is off limits.

A reason, that could mean the difference between life and death.

Because the Stone Council is hiding a horrific truth.

One, that if revealed, could tear our world apart.

The Stone Initiation is the first book in the Gargoyles of Stonehaven series. A Paranormal MF Romance featuring a strong female lead and a sizzlingly tempting gargoyle hero.

I leapt back as something large and gray swooped at me, and the next moment I was in its grip, boots off the ground and airborne.

“Cam!” My friends’ cries drifted away as every sense in my body focused on the thing…the creature that had me in his grip.

Serath held me against his body. Thick muscled arms crushing me to him.

“Don’t struggle,“ he said. “I don’t want to drop you.”

Struggle? I couldn’t think, let alone struggle. His woodsy scent, his arms around me, his body pressed to mine…

Overload.

“Breathe,” he said with a soft chuckle. “Just breathe.”

I hated him for hurting Touron. I wanted to punch him in the face to even things out. I’d do that as soon as he put me down. As soon as he let me go.

That was right.

That was the plan.

I exhaled and inhaled in quick succession then regretted it because his delicious aroma flooded my mind and my traitorous body melted against him.

He cursed under this breath, the word vibrating against me like an intimate invitation.

We landed in a clearing, nature pressing in around us, cocooning us as he continued to hold me. His heart beat like a drum against me.

I was so mad at him. So pissed off. Oh god, this felt good. It felt right. I rubbed my cheek against his pectoral, and he made a soft vibrating sound like a purr.

What was I doing? “What are you doing?”

“Having this moment,” he said, his voice a low-grade rumble.

I lifted my chin to look up at his monstrous gargoyle face. To trace the strong lines that made up the features that were both frightening and compellingly beautiful. The combination made my heart ache, and the urge to reach up and trace his scar rushed through me so strongly that my fingers were hovering at his jaw before I managed to catch myself.

I clenched my fists. I was here for a reason, and this…This wasn’t it. This was hormonal, pheromonal, needy body bullshit. “You hurt my friend.”

“I know. I’m sorry.”

Dammit, why wasn’t he being an asshole? I grit my teeth. “Tell him that.”

“I will. I swear it. I will. And after this moment.” His throat bobbed. “After this moment, I’ll stay away from you. I won’t touch you. I won’t covet you. I’ll let you be. I just…I need this one moment.”

There was an aching throb to his words that echoed inside me. My eyes heated with the threat of tears that made no sense. I swallowed past the lump in my throat. I didn’t want to mate with him. I didn’t need a fated lover, but my body didn’t seem to agree. It yearned for him. Longed to stay here, like this. Enveloped in his heat, so even though I didn’t want it, I found myself asking.

“Why? Why can’t you—”

He gripped my jaw and forced my head up. “Don’t ask it. Never ask it.”

Death Warden: Grave Spirits MC by Debbie Cassidy + giveaway

Death Warden: Grave Spirits MC
by Debbie Cassidy
May 27th 2022

Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Reverse Harem, Romance
Death waits for no one, unless you’re a necromancer, in which case he might stop for a cup of tea and a chat.

I didn’t ask to be a necromancer, and I certainly didn’t ask to be saddled with a magical amulet holding an ancient big bad at bay.

I got both.

All I want to do is steer clear of trouble, write horror novels, and hang with my talking cat.

But the spell on my amulet is weakening, and the only way to sustain it is to pick up and go to Frostgate—a city built on a powerful convergence of ley lines.

The plan is to lay low and wait for a revelation that’ll lead me to my conduit, my perfect match, to help me to sustain the spell on the lock.

But there is no laying low at Grave Spirits MC. No avoiding the burning stares of the hellhound Vice President, the icy cool assessment of the undead Sergeant at Arms, or the warm amber gaze of the hellhound Club Secretary.

I can’t get involved with any of them. I have a perfect mate to find.

But for the first time in my life steering clear of trouble is the last thing I want to do

Excerpt: Demon Throne (Demons of Morningstar, #1) by Debbie Cassidy + giveaway

Demon Throne
(Demons of Morningstar, #1)
by Debbie Cassidy
April 14th 2022
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance, Urban Fantasy
Nothing brightens up a Monday like finding out you’re the spawn of Satan

The big bad is dead and now Satan’s spawn must fight for the Morningstar throne. I’m tossed into the ring, whether I want to be there or not.

I’m mostly human, a hunter by trade, and totally outmatched by my half siblings. The chance I’ll survive these tests and claim the throne is slim.

Then someone starts assassinating my siblings.

It’s only a matter of time until I’m next.

I’m not the kind of girl who depends on anyone, but there are four demons who could help me survive this fiasco—a sadistic Nightmare, a psychotic efreet, a charismatic Fallen and Sin, an unhinged monster. Problem is, like all demons, they’re absolutely, sinfully tempting.

I’m pretty sure they each have their own agenda.

I’m also pretty sure one of them is the killer.

Let the games begin.

An Urban Fantasy Paranormal Romance filled with action, mystery, sizzle and multiple love interests for our lucky heroine.

EXCERPT
Sin stood, ass propped on the workbench, legs planted wide, head tipped back as a demon female knelt before him, working him noisily. Sin wasn’t touching her. His hands were braced on the workbench behind him, chest vibrating as she applied herself to her task. What was she doing with her teeth? And that gobbling noise? That was not the best technique.

I tore my gaze from her, dragging it up Sin’s washboard abs and hard pecs to find his midnight eyes fixed on me. “Nyx.” He said my name like an invitation, and I found myself fighting the urge to step forward, shove the useless woman out of the way, and take her place. I didn’t do any of that, though. Instead, I crossed my arms and arched an amused brow. “Hello, Sin, did I interrupt something fun?”

To give her credit, the demon hadn’t stopped working him; if anything, her ministrations become faster, almost desperate.

Sin placed his hand on her head. “Enough.”

She disengaged with a pop, looking up at him. “But you said you had to come. You haven’t come yet.”

He looked down at her dispassionately. “I know.”

“But that means I won’t get what I want.”

“Unfortunately, yes.”

She stood slowly and turned to glare at me. “This is your fault. You interrupted us and ruined it.”

“No,” Sin said. “Your technique leaves much to be desired. Come back when you’ve perfected it and we can trade.”

She opened and closed her mouth a couple of times and then pressed her lips together, pushing back her shoulders in determination. “I will be back, Sin. Mark my words.”

“I don’t doubt it.” Sin smiled, but it didn’t reach his eyes.

The woman brushed past me and dove into the stacks, eager to get away now, but her departure left me with an unobstructed view of Sin’s demonhood, and damn…

Sin reached for himself, slowly, carefully tucking away his prize. I cleared my throat and pulled my gaze up to his face. F*ck, he had a beautiful face, hard planes and chiseled jaw, wide, flat cheekbones, and dark eyes that swam with flecks of silver. He would have been angelic in appearance if not for the slightly crimson hue to his smooth, velvety skin and the horns that curved up and back from his head.

“What do you want today, Nyx?” he asked in his deep, gravelly voice.

Got a loved one who’s passed? Want to ask your dead aunt where she hid that elusive will? Head over to Necro city and look no further than Soul Savers Inc.

One day the world was normal, and the next, it was filled with ghosts. And then the reapers came. Blood-sucking hot dudes with wings and wicked scythes. They took control, and now we have a system.

Now we have Necro city, the hub of all things untethered.

As a soul relocation agent, it’s my job to rehouse the dead until the reapers come to collect, but with so few of those dudes about, the wait isn’t pretty. Thank goodness for decent coffee, frosted donuts, and a pending promotion.

Things are looking good until they’re not.

One bar fight and a dead reaper later, I’m left holding the scythe.

Not just any scythe, but a scythe belonging to one of Lilith’s four favored sons—the most powerful reapers in the world.

For some reason, it’s chosen me.

Now, three very large, very pissed off reapers are on my case.

It looks like that promotion is going to have to wait.

Excerpt: Shadow Caster (The Nightwatch Academy #1) by Debbie Cassidy + giveaway

Shadow Caster (The Nightwatch Academy #1)
by Debbie Cassidy
September 10th 2019
Genres: New Adult, Romance, Urban Fantasy
Murdering humans is a huge no-no and comes with an off-with-your-head sentence. Doesn’t matter if you don’t remember doing the crime.

I killed a human, and no, it wasn’t on purpose, but that shit doesn’t matter to the council. I’m facing death. So, when I’m offered a deal to avoid execution, I’d be a fool not to take it, even if it means leaving the human world and urban life behind to enroll in the Nightwatch Academy – a gothic monstrosity hidden from human eyes, located way too close to the largest tear in the fabric of our reality.

It would be fun if I had any inclination of becoming a member of the Watch or supporting the shadow knights at keeping the Formorian threat at bay. But heck, the monsters beyond the mist aren’t my problem. I have personal demons to deal with.

Once I’m out, the Watch can shove it.

But one sip from the ceremonial goblet and my plans to coast are out of the window as my powers spark to life.

I’m an anomaly, one the Watch won’t be letting walk any time soon.

My only comfort is a man who prides himself on his ability to harness pain. Battle scarred and formidable, he’s my tutor, my mentor, and the object of some super saucy dreams. He’s completely off limits and my only hope of surviving my first test.

I’ll need to harness my powers fast.

There can be no distractions.

But when my fellow cadets start going missing then returning with no memory of who they used to be and my best friend is taken, turning a blind eye is no longer an option.

Allies are limited when you’re a freak. Luckily, I don’t need a cheer squad to get shit done. Whoever is responsible better watch out. I’m coming for them, and I’ll be bringing the pain.

The Vampire Academy meets Game of Thrones in this kick-ass, supernatural academy, Urban Fantasy Romance.

EXCERPT:
“Wake up, Indie.”

A hand landed on my shoulder and had the audacity to give it a shake.

Fuck off was the desired response, but the word that came out was harrumph.

“Indie, come on. You promised you wouldn’t miss today.”

Today? Oh, yeah, the team exercise, as in there is no I in team, as in I didn’t give a shit. But the exam was the last lesson of the evening, and my bio clock told me the sun had only just set.

Still, Minnie’s shadow loomed over me, and the heat of her gorgon glare burned holes in the back of my head.

“The whole day, Indie. You promised to do a whole day.” She reminded me with that stern edge to her tone, which told me that ten-inch-thick steel would break before she would.

Me and my big mouth. Maybe if I faked sickness, she’d piss off and leave me be. Going to shitty classes was the last thing I wanted to do tonight.

I coughed and made a gagging sound.

“Nah-uh,” she said. “The whole frickin’ day and the exam. You skip the test, and we all get a fail. And you don’t want me to fail, do you?”

Urgh. Emotional blackmail, which coming from anyone else I’d be immune to. I rolled onto my back and stared at the pixie-cute woman looking down at me. Her crimson bob grazed her delicate jaw as she leaned over me, and her wide jade eyes were hard with determination.

Over the last two months, I’d learned three things about Minnie Faraday. First, that she wasn’t a stuck-up arsehole like the rest of the Faraday family. Second, she had a soft spot for kittens, and anything small and furry, and third—the most important—that she did not take no for an answer.

Trust me, I’d tried to keep her at a distance. I mean, sharing a room with her didn’t mean we had to be friends. I didn’t need or want any friends here. But Minnie had decided that’s exactly what we were going to be, and she’d pursued me unrelentingly until she’d worn me down.

So, here we were. Two friends in a glare off. One I knew I was about to lose, because yeah, I’d promised not to skip out on the simulation today. Team exercises were graded based on team performance, if one member was a no show, the whole team suffered.

I closed my eyes and blew out a breath. “Fine. Give me five minutes, and I’ll meet you in the lobby.

“Five.” She narrowed her eyes. “I’ll be back to get you if you don’t show.”

I flashed my teeth at her. “Have I ever let you down, pixie -boo?”

“Do not call me that.” She crossed her arms. “You know I hate it.” She sniffed.

“Riiight. So, you just wrote it in the back of your notebook and decorated it with tiny flowers for no reason then?”

She opened and closed her mouth a couple of times and then took a deep breath. “Five minutes.”

She grabbed her book bag and headed out of the room.

The door didn’t slam behind her.

Not too pissed off then.

EXCERPT:
The door opened, and the object of my reflections strode in. Black vest today and gray yoga pants. He kicked off his shoes and rolled his head on his shoulder to stretch the muscles.

“You ready?” he asked.

Terse tone, check. He always started out this way. “Yep.”

“Okay, let’s see what you remember from the other day.”

I launched myself at him, not giving him a moment to think, but he grabbed me around the waist easily and flung me to the ground before landing on top of me, arms braced on either side of my head, body in plank position so it was mere inches from mine.

“Not good enough.” His eyes glittered, and his gaze fell to my lips. “Try harder.”

There was a bite to his words, and then he’d pushed off me and leapt to his feet. Shit, the man was agile. Large and muscled like a wildcat, like the panthers we’d seen on the documentaries at the cinema if panthers were silver and blond with twilight eyes.

He circled me as I stood.

“I’m going to attack you now, Echo,” he warned.

A shiver went up my spine, because hell if that wasn’t a hint of glee in his tone.

“I’m going to attack you, and you need to defend.”

His hair had fallen forward into his eyes, and he peered at me from behind the tendrils, his eyes super dark beyond his spectacles. My pulse fizzed, and adrenaline leaked into my limbs.

“Wait, what?” We hadn’t played this game before.

“You know the moves. If you lose your staff if you’re up against the Breed, what do you do?”

Was that a growl to his tone? “Um, Emory.”

His chest was rising and falling rapidly. “Run.”

Run?

And then he was charging me. I leapt out of the way just in time to avoid the crash of his body and launched into a run; the room was big, but with him in residence, it felt way too small. I leapt over the horse and grabbed hold of the rings hanging from the ceiling, using them to swing myself over to the rock-climbing wall. My fingers grazed the nooks, gaining purchase long enough to hang and drop, turn and twist to kick him in the gut. My foot connected but didn’t come away because he had my ankle.

My gaze shot up to meet his, and his lips curled slowly. It was a primal smile, a smile of triumph and ownership.

“Okay, you win.” I hopped on one leg while he continued to hold the other.

“I do?” He kept hold of my ankle with one hand and grabbed my calf with the other, pulling me closer.

“Shit.” My heart was thudding faster now, but not with exertion, with fear, because when I looked into his eyes, the Emory I knew wasn’t there. “Emory? You win. You can let go now.”

He canted his head and released my ankle to grab my thigh. “You think a Breed will let you go? You think a scuttler will let you go?”

My pulse was hammering in my throat now as I scanned the face I’d known for years and found nothing familiar aside from the features. His fingers tightened on me. “The Breed will catch you, and they’ll fuck you.”

He yanked my leg suddenly and hard enough to knock me off balance and bring me to the ground. He came with me, his weight landing on my body, pushing it into the mats. A growl vibrated against me, and my fear spiked and twisted into something else, something untamed and dangerous. He inhaled, and the pupils behind his glasses dilated. His gloved hand slid up my body to tangle and fist in my hair almost painfully. Tears stung my eyes, and my body began to tremble, but this … this wasn’t fear, it was anticipation.

What was this? What was happening right now?

His thigh slipped between mine, pushing up against my crotch, and my body was suddenly on fire.

“Emory?” His name was a breathless explosion.

He tensed, and the hand in my hair flexed, tearing a gasp from me. He blinked slowly as if waking from a daydream, and then his face, his beautiful face, contorted in horror.

“Echo?”

“Emory?”

He leapt off me as if he’d been burned and turned away, bracing his hands on his head. He took several steps away from me and then lowered his arms. His back straightened, and when he turned to face me, his expression was closed.

“Get up.” He looked down on me coolly. “Training is done for the day.”

by Debbie Cassidy
February 5, 2019
Genres: Adult, Post-Apocalyptic, Reverse Harem, Urban Fantasy
Take the journey, find the lock that fits the key and get some damn answers.

Get from point A to point B. Stick to the mapped-out route and take shelter at the pre-planned times. It sounds simple enough, now if only we’d factored in getting attacked by djinn and having to take a detour through The Wilds.

With obstacles at every turn, the last thing the fangs and I need on our arse’s is a new breed of Feral, but it looks like that’s exactly what fate us about to throw at us.

This trip is going to be anything but dull, but with the Fangs as back up, I may just make it to the Bunker in one piece and finally get some answers.

Whoever said road trips were fun can go suck it!

The Vampire Diaries meets The Walking Dead in this Post-Apocalyptic Urban Fantasy with a slow burn Why Choose romance.

EXCERPT:
No. I didn’t. I didn’t want to hear it. “Don’t.”

The corner of his mouth lifted. “Oh, Eva, we are so past that.” His mouth crushed mine in a punishing kiss. The heat that had been gathering behind my eyes melted to tears.

“No!” I tore my mouth from him. “No. You don’t get to do this. Not now. I can’t. I won’t.”

He kissed me again, hard and desperate and hungry, as if trying to cram a hundred kisses into one. My heart swelled in my chest, and the numbness threatened to retreat. I shoved at his immovable torso, wanting him gone, but in the next heartbeat, I fisted his shirt, pulling him closer.

Being left behind to hold the fort every time the world needs saving, sucks.

For Carmella Hunter, a witch blood with practically no magick, being surrounded by powerful friends has taken its toll. For once it would be nice to be the one doing the saving. Stuck in a dead end job in Piccadilly’s favourite bakery, Carmella spends her days making cinnamon rolls and her evenings feeding the homeless, all the while dreaming of making a difference.

One huge pastry order for the Covens annual meet and an attack of flu germs leaves Carmella delirious with a fever—too delirious to avoid a fateful bargain with a djinn named Paimon. Bound to do his bidding, his seductive voice in her head and his infuriating arrogance make the partnership a trying one. With Paimon, Carmella gets her first taste of power. A power she must use to track down the monsters hunting Paimon’s people. Suddenly Carmella isn’t so helpless anymore.

Things get complicated when her boss, and close friend, goes missing, and the enforcement agencies don’t seem too bothered about looking for a celestial dancer who likes to sleep around. With the help of Mal Banner, the Piccadilly Coven Elder Witch and self professed playboy, Carmella finally has the opportunity to be the hero she’s always wanted to be.

But someone doesn’t want Carmella digging. Someone will go to any lengths to make her stop.

The Witch Blood Chronicles is the spin off series to the hugely popular Gatekeeper Chronicles coauthored with Jasmine Walt, and although it can be enjoyed as a standalone series, the author recommends reading The Gatekeeper Chronicles first for maximum impact.

Binding Magick is the first installment in a new urban fantasy series, The Witch Blood Chronicles. Carmella Hunter, a witch blood, works in popular London bakery. The only magic she’s capable of creating, however, is her delicious cinnamon buns. Carmella has never been able to properly tap into her witch powers. Instead, the talented baker focuses on helping others. As the operator of a soup kitchen and shelter, Carmella’s life is firmly rooted in the daily grind until she finds herself bound to a seductive and all-powerful djinn, Paimon. On a mission from another dimension, Paimon recruits Carmella to help him solve the mysterious disappearance of his people. The disappearance of Paimon’s people coincides with the disappearance of paranormal beings in Carmella’s world, so she’s motivated to help. With access to Paimon’s powers, Carmella finally feels equipped to delve into supernatural mire to find answers.

I liked this story. It has all the ingredients of an excellent urban fantasy. Carmella is beautiful, talented, and sassy, but flawed. Ergo she’s relatable. The storyline is creative and action-packed. Cassidy weaves loads of romantic tension throughout the story, which I love. The table is set for an engaging series; there are many directions Carmella could take in life and love. Another feature I found interesting was Cassidy’s use of Hindu deities as the basis for the story. I found this to be a refreshing and original touch in a genre that more commonly relies on Western constructs.

While reading, however, I felt I was missing loads of backstory. I found that Witch Blood Chronicles is a spin-off series. The Gatekeeper Chronicles, co-written by Cassidy, is the story of Malina Hayes, Carmella’s best friend, and supernatural assassin. While the series are separate, they take place in the same world. I suspect readers familiar with Gatekeeper would’ve had an easier time navigating book one of Witch Blood. Nevertheless, I’ve downloaded book two and am eager to see where Carmella’s newfound powers will take her. The series is currently available for free with a Kindle Unlimited subscription.
