It was a friendly visit until a priceless artifact was stolen. Now Ben and Tenzin are up to their necks in secrets that can kill.

It’s not just any holiday season in the immortal world. Elder Zhang’s oldest servant is reaching the century mark and Ben and Tenzin are ready to celebrate, but no sooner do they land on Penglai Island than a mystery falls in their path. A valuable seal has gone missing, and the artifact was a gift from an ancient vampire who just happens to be heading to Penglai for a long-overdue formal visit.

The Elders of Penglai may have asked Ben and Tenzin’s assistance to find the lost treasure, but that doesn’t mean that eight ancient vampires, their immortal children, and all the humans who serve them will suddenly become open books. Penglai Island is secret for a reason, and the heart of that reason may just reveal the motive behind the theft.

PEARL SKY is a brand new Elemental Legacy story by Elizabeth Hunter, ten-time USA Today bestselling author of the Elemental Mysteries, the Irin Chronicles, and other works of fiction.

What was supposed to be a short, friendly visit to Penglai becomes more when an irreplaceable artifact is stolen. The Elders of Penglai have tasked Ben and Tenzin to find the artifact before very important visitors arrive to celebrate the birthday of Elder Zhang’s oldest servant. According to the Elders and the human they have spoken to, the island is paradise and everyone has their needs met.

As Ben and Tenzin start asking questions in search of the seal, many interesting facts come to light causing them both to feel like the theft was an inside job. Because Ben is a newer vampire than most on the island, he has a unique perspective that will break the case wide open but maybe it will also open the Elders' eyes to changes that are long overdue.

Book Review: The Bone Scroll: (Elemental Legacy Book 5) by Elizabeth Hunter

Finding it could cost them everything. Wielding it could mean their end.

It’s a secret lost in time, a myth among immortals, a relic of such power that vampires around the world have quietly harbored the hope that it doesn’t really exist.

It’s a mystery that Tenzin and Ben cannot resist.

But to obtain the Bone Scroll, they’ll need leverage over the most powerful and mercurial vampire in the known world. Saba, oldest of immortals and mother of the vampire race, has returned to her homeland in the highlands of Ethiopia, searching for the scroll with a cadre of elders. In order to outsmart them, Ben and Tenzin will need to walk a literal and figurative edge through a maze of vampire loyalties, shadowy motivations, and ancient secrets.

If Saba wanted them gone, she could command the earth to swallow them whole. But the mother of vampires is playing her own game, and both Ben and Tenzin are no more than pawns.

Can they outsmart and outmaneuver the most primeval beings in their race to find the Bone Scroll before it lands in the possession of those who care only for their own selfish gain?

The Bone Scroll is the next supernatural mystery in the Elemental Legacy series by Elizabeth Hunter, USA Today bestselling author of the Elemental Mysteries, the Irin Chronicles, and the Glimmer Lake series.

Ben and Tenzin enjoy a good treasure hunt, and the bone scroll may be the ultimate treasure hunt. Some immortals believe it is a myth, while others who hunger for power are in a race with them to find the bone scroll and the ability to control all four elements.

Tenzin is an old and ancient vampire who can play politics if she chooses, so they decide they need to collect leverage to trade when the time comes. Saba, the oldest immortal and the mother of the vampire race, appears to be playing her own game, one that Ben and Tenzin need to figure out in order to outsmart those searching for the bone scroll.

Hunter has a fantastic imagination that has kept her series and spin-off series fresh and a delight to read. The writing flows easily, making the read quick and interesting.

Book Review: Dawn Caravan (Elemental Legacy Book 4) by Elizabeth Hunter

Dawn Caravan: (Elemental Legacy Book 4)
by Elizabeth Hunter
Pages: 388
Pulse-driving paranormal mystery from USA Today Bestseller, Elizabeth Hunter. After this night, dawn can’t come fast enough.

For Ben Vecchio, everything has changed. His eyes. His diet. His new aversion to sunlight. But after a long sojourn in China, Ben realizes that the world he left behind hasn’t changed as much as he feared. He wants to leave his old life in the past, there’s one job remaining that just won’t leave him alone.

Radu’s mystery is too interesting—and too profitable—to ignore. The problem? Taking on this commission puts Ben in the path of his old partner, the one woman he’s spent years avoiding.

Tenzin has been following Ben at a distance, hoping his ire might wane, but when he heads to Romania, her patience runs out. Ben is a new power in their world, and more than one vampire will be eager to test him.

Ben and Tenzin need to work together if they want to find the truth behind Radu, his mysterious clan, and the treasure at the heart of the Dawn Caravan. One last job, then it’s finished between them.

Right?

Dawn Caravan is the fourth book in the Elemental Legacy, a paranormal mystery series by USA Today bestselling author, Elizabeth Hunter.

Ben is still so angry that Tenzin turned even though she knew it was against his wishes and now she is following him. Ben thinks that if he ends his business partnership with Tenzin than ties will be cut between them, and he will never look back. One last job with her and then he was done so Ben agrees to meet with Radu because he is definitely a mystery that Ben would like to understand.

The tension between Ben and Tenzin is so thick you can feel it jumping off the pages as you read. These two have always been favorites of mine and I am so happy to be able to read stories that are dedicated to them. Hunter has many different series and this one is a fan favorite! Her writing paints such a clear picture of the story she is telling, and her characters have a depth that I find refreshing. She builds on them in each story instead of just keeping them the same which keeps me coming back for more.

Book Review: Night’s Reckoning: (Elemental Legacy Book 3) by Elizabeth Hunter

Night’s Reckoning: (Elemental Legacy Book 3)

Pulse-driving paranormal mystery from USA Today Bestseller, Elizabeth Hunter. Darkness comes for everyone, and some fates are inescapable.

For over a thousand years, the legendary sword Laylat al Hisab--the Night's Reckoning--has been lost in the waters of the East China Sea. Forged as a peace offering between two ancient vampires, the sword has eluded treasure hunters, human and immortal alike.

But in time, even the deep gives up its secrets.

When Tenzin's sire hears about the ninth century shipwreck found off the coast of southern China, Zhang Guo realizes he'll need the help of an upstart pirate from Shanghai to retrieve it. And since that pirate has no desire to be in the middle of an ancient war, Cheng calls the only allies who might be able to help him avoid it.

Unfortunately, Tenzin is on one side of the globe and Ben is on the other.

Tenzin knows she'll need Ben's keen mind and political skills to complete the job. She also knows gaining Ben's cooperation won't be an easy task. She'll have to drag him back into the darkness he's been avoiding. Whether Ben knows it or not, his fate is balanced on the edge of a thousand-year-old blade, and one stumble could break everything Tenzin has worked toward.

Night's Reckoning is the third novel in the Elemental Legacy series, a paranormal mystery by Elizabeth Hunter, USA Today bestselling author of the Elemental Mysteries.

Over a thousand years ago a ship was sunk at sea and with it, a symbol of peace, the sword Laylat al Hisab which means the Night’s Reckoning. The sword was made to as a peace offering between Zhang Guo and Arosh. Now that a ninth century shipwreck has been found off the southern coast of China, Zhang hires Cheng to work with Tenzin to recover this priceless artifact.

Tenzin has been avoiding Ben since Puerto Rico and now she knows she will need him on this job if they are going to recover the sword. With the help of Zhang, her sire, Tenzin and Cheng can hire Ben and his friend Fabia to come on the expedition to retrieve the sword.

Tenzin and Ben have one of the most complicated relationships in the elemental world and sometimes even they don’t always know why. Tenzin is stuck in her ways which exasperates Ben to no end and Tenzin who has been alive for thousands of years has a hard time connecting to the modern world, humans and most of all Ben. The magnetism, friendship, and more recently romantic inclinations are what make their relationship one of my favorites in the elemental world. This is the story that Tenzin and Ben fans have been waiting for!

Book Review: Blood Apprentice (Elemental Legacy #2) by Elizabeth Hunter

Blood Apprentice (Elemental Legacy #2)

If you’re a human in a vampire’s world, nothing goes according to plan.

When a map to the mysterious fortune of notorious privateer Miguel Enríquez falls in the lap of Ben and Tenzin, only one of them is jumping at the opportunity. Tenzin can’t wait to search for a secret cache of gold. Ben, on the other hand, couldn’t be less excited.

All Ben knows about Puerto Rico is what he hears on the news and a few lingering memories of his human grandmother. Going back to his roots holds zero appeal for the carefully constructed man he’s become.

In the end, the lure of hidden gold can’t be denied.

Ben and Tenzin head to Puerto Rico where the immortal world is ruled by Los Tres, a trio of powerful vampires commanding the wind, the waves, and the mountains that make up this small island in the Caribbean.

To find Enríquez’s treasure, they’ll have to walk a fine line between flattery and secrecy. To leave the island might mean a bigger fight than either one of them foresaw.

Blood Apprentice is the second novel in the Elemental Legacy, a paranormal mystery series by Elizabeth Hunter, author of the Irin Chronicles.

Blood Apprentice finds Ben and Tenzin heading to Puerto Rico to find the lost treasure of Miguel Enriquez, a pirate from long ago. Ben has no desire to visit Puerto Rico or relive the memories of his family and life as a boy, but Tenzin has a way of getting what she wants.

Ben and Tenzin have a very complicated relationship and possibly one of the most interesting ones in the Elemental world. Ben had a difficult life as a boy and was adopted into the vampire world when he was 12. Tenzin took a liking to Ben when he was quite young, and their relationship has grown to something more than friendship, not that either one of them wants to admit that. Of all the vampire’s in this series, Tenzin lives by her own set of rules and is quite powerful and intriguing.

This series is a personal favorite and I can’t wait to see what comes next for these two!

Book Review: Midnight Labyrinth: (An Elemental Legacy Book) by Elizabeth Hunter

Midnight Labyrinth: (An Elemental Legacy Book)
by Elizabeth Hunter
November 7, 2017
Pages: 379
He's one human caught in a tangled maze of theft, politics, magic, and blood.

In other words, it's just another night.

Benjamin Vecchio escaped a chaotic childhood and grew to adulthood under the protection and training of one of the Elemental world's most feared vampire assassins. He's traveled the world and battled immortal enemies.

But everyone has to go home sometime.

New York means new opportunities and allies for Ben and his vampire partner, Tenzin. It also means new politics and new threats. Their antiquities business is taking off, and their client list is growing. When Ben is challenged to find a painting lost since the second world war, he jumps at the chance. This job will keep him closer to home, but it might just land him in hot water with the insular clan of earth vampires who run Manhattan.

Tenzin knew the painting would be trouble before she laid eyes on it, but she can't deny the challenge intrigues her. Human laws mean little to a vampire with a few millennia behind her, and Tenzin misses the rush of taking what isn't hers.

But nothing is more dangerous than a human with half the story, and Ben and Tenzin might end up risking their reputations and their lives before they escape the Midnight Labyrinth.

Ben and Tenzin are two of my favorite characters from the Elemental series. Ben is human, full of honor, hard worker with a touch of boyish charm. Tenzin is an ancient wind vampire who is quirky, loyal and unintentionally funny.

Ben runs into an unexpected old friend on the streets of New York late one night and is ecstatic to have found her again after all these years. The biggest surprise, however, is that Tenzin has taken a liking to her as well. As Chloe and Ben hangout, Ben is drawn into a hunt for a long, lost painting and the beautiful girl who is looking for it is mesmerizing as well. Ben and Tenzin will need some help if they are going to recover this mysterious painting and much to Ben’s dismay he will have to bring Gavin, another wind vampire, into the mix to succeed. The instant chemistry between Gavin and Chloe is undeniable and Ben doesn’t want Chloe brought into their world.
