Adjusting to the news her wolf is more than just a Familiar while lobbying the Witch's Parliament to remove her recent warlocking, Samantha Hawthorne is approached by an Alpha Werewolf. Two of his pack are missing and he asks Sam to help find them. Before she can answer, the Alpha marks her with a bite in order to guarantee her assistance, and to declare her his mate should she fail. Now it's a race against the Alpha’s venom to find the missing pack members while battling Ceremonial Magicians, revenge-seeking Clerics and Sam’s Arcane power that has suddenly acquired a voice of its own!

The third book in the Eldritch Files continues as Sam is coming to terms that Grey is more than her familiar. The Clerics have yet to remove her warlocking and the only thing keeping her sane is the Arcane Magic that resides within her. An Alpha Werewolf blackmails her to guarantee she will help him fine two of his missing pack mates. Sam has so much on her plate she doesn’t know where to even start.

Sam is such a funny character. She is fights for what is right even if it goes against the witch community, the police or whoever gets in her way. Crwys is a mystery that needs to be cracked. He’s been around for a very long time and Sam just can’t figure out what he is and to be fair I had my guess and I was wrong.

How do we tell the good from the bad when they look the same?

Elemental Witch and Magic Shop owner, Samantha Hawthorne, faces her future with the knowledge she was raised, taught, and groomed by the very evil responsible for the disappearance of her mother. Threads of Arcane Magic linger alongside the guilt Samantha endures for killing an innocent in her failed pursuit for revenge.

Now Clerics, the Witch’s Judiciary Branch, appear and request her aid in proving the self-appointed Witch Queen of New Orleans possesses the rumored Malleus Maleficarum, The Witch’s Hammer. They believe her command of the book’s Arcane power is responsible for the death of three Witch Elders.

But something else is rising in the city as reports of ghost sightings and evil shadows increase. Faced with a lingering fear her own use of Arcane Magic has tainted her in some way, mounting pressure with the threat of a warlock from the Clerics, and suspicion that the evil that escaped her is still influencing her decisions, Samantha calls upon her friends to weave their unique magic together to stop the rampage of Elemental Shadows.

Elemental Shadows is the second book in the Eldritch Files series.

This is the second book in the Eldritch Files series

Samantha Hawthorne is an elemental witch, and owns a Magic Shop in New Orleans. Arcane magic is something that witches are taught to avoid because it will corrupt the witch and destroys them. Sam had no choice but to use Arcane Magic and is now parts of the magic linger within her.

Clerics, which is a part of the Witch’s Judiciary Branch, appear and require her to find Malleus Maleficarum better known as the Witch’s Hammer. The witch they believe is hiding the book is Kyle’s aunt, and even though Sam doesn’t want to help her in any way the Clerics threaten her in the worst way possible.

A POWER TOO TERRIBLE TO CONTROL...

Samantha Hawthorne lives a rather curious life in New Orleans running a magic and herb shop. As an Elemental Witch in the Big Easy and owner of a wolf Familiar as well as the head of a former Faerie Queen, curious is as quiet as it gets for Sam.

Until children start turning into blood-thirsty Changelings and attack their parents.

When one of these children shows up in front of her shop, Sam and her friends are determined to find out where they’re coming from and where the exchanged children are being kept and put a stop to it. But will they succeed when they find themselves pitted against ninja ghouls, one of the oldest and darkest enemies of the mortal world, and a secret from Sam’s childhood that could unravel her magic?

This is the first time I’ve read Phaedra Weldon and I have to say I’m glad I did. The book grabbed me from the very beginning. Had all the elements I love to read; witches, magic, faeries and other things that go bump in the night.

Samantha Hawthorne owns a little shop in New Orleans, Bell, Book and Candle. She’s an Elemental Witch with a lot of power. She isn’t into following the herd and doing what she’s told which is probably why I loved her right off the bat.

Her little group is unique and made up of a Hedge witch and a Cyber witch. This is only the second series I’ve read that has a cyber witch and I was so excited to see it here. Times are changing and to see story lines change with it makes me oh, so happy! The mystery man of the hour is not her boyfriend, but rather her ex Crwys. Can’t wait to find out more about him in future books.

If you are looking for a new author this is the one to try! A quick read that has made me research her other books and I’m definitely going to read more of this series!
