Seduce Me in Dreams, there's a hole in this bucket!

Seduce Me In Dreams, by author Jacquelyn Franks, is the first book in her new Sci Fi/Romance series Three Worlds. While I see potential for these books, this one fell a bit flat for me. I found myself skipping through paragraphs to get to something worth reading. Once I reached the second half I did get into it a bit more but nothing very worth while here. Yet.

Storyline:

Dark. Mysterious. Sensual. When Bronse Chapel, the commander of a specialized unit of the Interplanetary Militia, begins to dream about a beautiful and exotic brunette, he wants to dismiss it as being induced by lack of sleep…or perhaps lack of sex. But his instincts tell him it’s something different, something far more dangerous.

Ravenna is the leader of the Chosen Ones, a small group of people from her village born with extraordinary powers. She doesn’t know that draws her to Bronse’s dreams night after night, but she senses that he and his team are in jeopardy. Ravenna can help him, but first Bronse must save the Chosen Ones from those who plan to use their powers for evil. Together, Bronse and Ravenna will be unstoppable. but Ravenna is hiding something that could endanger them all.

This was my first time reading anything from this author, heard great things about her other series so I thought I would give her a shot. Maybe I should have started with those first and not this one. The book reads like a military room briefing, very dry and almost robotic in its delivery. Bronse our hero in this story was so-so, just didn't have many stand-out qualities I could latch on to. Ravenna felt the same to me, she was so busy being strong that I never got the chance to get inside her head. I felt a big disconnect with these two.

I did like the secondary character Lieutenant Commander Masin "Lasher" Morse, with his story coming up next I can see how that book might be loads better then this story. A bit predictable at times, I always hate knowing how the book will end. Also, I do not like the name Ender being used for anything other then the masterpiece that Orson Scott Card created in Enders Game. Even if it's just a nick-name some things just can't be touched again. But that's just me nitpicking. lol

On the plus side, I did like the Chosen Ones and their range of different powers. I can see how a possible future for this group could make the series better. I will give Jacquelyn one more shot with the next book, so here's to hoping things pick up. :)
