Museum curator Sydney Worth has a crush on a man in a 300 year old painting. Everything about the man in the painting appeals to her feminine side and she can't help but daydream about him a little. She's so caught off guard that she literally falls on the poor man and well, her embarassment doesn't end there I'm afraid but you'll have to read the book to find out more.
The Hot Scot is the first book in a new series by Kate Eden and I honestly enjoyed it! It's a great book for people who are looking for a lighter paranormal romance. Not that I don't love a good, dark paranormal romance but it's fun to read a book like The Hot Scot once in a while. There's a lot of humor going on in this book, the snarky kind which was vastly appealing. I love snarky characters and Kate Eden delivered!
Logan Murdoch isn't your typical brooding vampire. Sure he's got problems, he's over 300 years old, of course he's going to have them. However he doesn't walk around like it's the end of the world, he seems to actually enjoy his existence as a vampire. I enjoyed his relationship with his family and later, his growing relationship with Sydney.
Sydney may seem a bit gun shy about relationships but she has good reason. Nothing makes a woman more hesitant than a bad relationship experience. I admired her for being an independent woman though, especially since at one time in my life I had wanted to be a museum curator. She's funny, sweet in a tough kind of way and smart. She brought out the best in Logan, even as she frustrated him with her stubborness.
Logan's mother Kira was such a strong presence in the story. She's a meddler but never so much as to be annoying. She loves her family and only wants them to be happy. She also rules with an iron fist. As dangerous as Logan is, he's still no match for his own mother.
The pace of The Hot Scot is brisk, but easy to understand and again, fun to read. So if you're looking for a light paranormal romance filled with humor and romance then pick up The Hot Scot by Kate Eden. I know I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

This book was so much fun. I really enjoyed the characters and the world! The next one is just as good.
