However, as I reached the halfway point in the book, I still didn’t find myself invested in the story. Was it the characters, the writing or the book itself? What I finally decided was, it was the amount of things all going on at once. I am all for lots of subplots. I believe they only improve a book. They add interest and move the story forward, but they should work together. In this case, it felt like the subplots were fighting each other. This left me feeling like none of the storylines were developed properly.
Did the author fix the problem by the end of the book? I can’t say, since I found myself unable to finish. What I can say is this book just wasn’t for me.

Aw that sucks. I love her books. I haven't read this one yet though but so far have really enjoyed her other series.
