Book Review: Everything You and I Could Have Been If We Were Not You and I by Albert Espinosa

Everything You and I Could Have Been If We Were Not You and I
by Albert Espinosa
Can you imagine a future where everyone has given up sleeping?

From the creator of the television series Red Band Society and author of the international bestsellerThe Yellow World comes this uniquely special novel.

What if I could reveal your secrets with just a glance? And what if I could feel with your heart just by looking at you? And what if --in a single moment-- I could know that we were made for each other? Marcos has just lost his mother, a famous dancer who taught him everything, and he decides that his world can never be the same without her. Just as he is about to make a radical change, a phone call turns his world upside down.

Albert Espinosa has a peculiar talent for generating immediate congeniality around him, for shifting people's moods toward the positive and for reconciling them with themselves and the world, when needed.

Love, love!

I chose this book for the title and not because I have read any other of the authors writings. Long but catchy titles lead me to believe there will be an unusual writing style and I was not disappointed! Fluid and simplistic First Person narrative had me hooked from the beginning. I felt very invested in the main character even though I thought him quirky and a little unbalanced.

This book was a great break from my as of late genre of books but still could fit it the paranormal fantasy realm. Espinosa's word selection and sentence structure, in my opinion, is exceptional. His thought process stunning and inviting. Few writers can get away with the First Person narrative and still make you feel very connected to the other characters.

I loved the twist to the plot and the great buildup to discovery of his "gift". The revelation in the last 25% of the book made me want to believe it was a non-fiction book. Aliens, 6 planet life cycle and his description of the meaning of life left me smiling and utterly satisfied with this story! Do yourself a favor and pick up this short read, it's worth every minute! I will definitely be looking for his other books to immerse myself in his thoughts on other subjects!

I give this 4 1/2 "stranger" sheep
