Sheep Talk: Supernatural (tv series) season 11, so far

***SPOILERS ALL OVER THIS REVIEW. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!***

Supernatural is an American fantasy horror television series created by Eric Kripke. It was first broadcast on September 13, 2005, on The WB and subsequently became part of successor The CW's lineup. Starring Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester and Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester, the series follows the two brothers as they hunt demons, ghosts, monsters, and other supernatural beings in the world.

Katie's Air Guitar Inspired Thoughts:
Season 11 of Supernatural started out with the "Darkness", a gal known to make grown men wee themselves. She's all kinds of bad and apparently God's sister! Say wha?! Yup, the show has once again gone to most fantastical to bring it's fans something new and fresh. Hey, after 11 seasons you sure have to! But I love it, the boys are my sexy dreams come to life.

With the brothers out to kick some ass, while not trying to kill, they are once again forced to bring peace to the world. A big task. Reinventing itself is what this show does best, while staying true to the bread and butter that makes the whole thing work. I love it and can't wait to see what Hell has in store next!

Sharon's Bunny Head Musings:
Katie and Pam cover the plot. I love the humor each season brings. Last season's 200th episode that gave a nod to all the fanfic shippers out there was pure perfection. The writers and actors "get" their fans and embrace them! The fandom in general is nerdy and proud of it...back to this season...God has a sister?! Sam is back in the cage with Lucifer!?!? We've all been waiting for Lucifer to come back...don't ask, it's a SPN thing. Now...where is Adam? And OMG can Dean Winchester get any better looking?! Yes, yes he can.

Pamela's pickled thoughts:
The new Big Bad, The Darkness, has arrived, and she has a name. Amara. I loved my Supernatural, but once Amara came and the boys had to deal with the aftermath, including help Castiel deal with what Crowley’s witch mother, Rowena did to him, I felt slightly let down. She was a little girl and Crowley snatches her to raise her like a daughter, indulging Amara with demon souls (she feeds on souls), and you would think being King of Hell and surviving what Castiel did to him thanks to Rowena’s spell, he would know better trying to use something that God has locked away for so long that not even demons know who she is (though it appears the angels do). Especially as she starts to grow up and chafe at his control, also showing she may be more powerful than he foolishly realizes. Meanwhile Sam believes he is receiving visions from God. After all this time, I think Sam would be more leery. We soon learn who Amara is as she leaves Crowley’s crutches and searches for God, and why she might been locked up eons ago. Which diminished her big badness in my eyes—making it god versus god thing, taking the familiar theme of family that threads through Supernatural. The mid-season episode has Rowena (I actually like this witch) and Crowley setting up a meeting between him and Lucifer in the cage as his visions kept showing. He even gets a burning bush as an answer when he asks God if meting the Devil in the cage was what He wanted. And it looks like maybe Crowley may soon lose his royal hold on Hell and Sam may be in danger. Up on Earth, Amara tells Dean that she was the beginning and will be the end. When Deans says, “That would make you God,” and she replies, “No.” as that He is the Light while she is the Dark. It may be that Amara has gotten her wish and God may appear when she destroys three angels sent after her, or is it all of Heaven’s angels? For she is gone when she has been smited. And what about Sam and the Devil? Is God finally to be here (personally, I always suspected he was there in somebody we already met and knew, and one angel did say He was on earth, but I won’t tell—spoilers. The episode left us hanging, and caught me hook, line and sinker, as I cannot wait to see what happens when Supernatural returns January 20th. Here is the trailer promoting that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yWNZ4Oznto

I give 3.95 out of 5 for the season so far. But I am hoping Supernatural brings up that rating. It hasn’t let me down yet.
