Amelia will trust her body to a man, but never her heart. Unfortunately for her, Dane wants both.
Amelia will trust her body to a man, but never her heart. Unfortunately for her, Dane wants both.
Amelia Sutton isn't interested in being a hero. She's just a witch who wants to live a normal, happy life. But that life is under threat from Malleus – a practitioner of magic so dark it could bring down the world.
To protect her home and those she loves from Malleus, Amelia must perform a dangerous ritual to increase her power. Unfortunately for her, that means spending the night with a man already too close to stealing her heart and jeopardizing her no-risk future.
As a Watchtower Knight, Dane is sworn to defend and protect Dahnan Witches. His sense of duty and loyalty has always come first, and despite his feelings for Amelia, he knows she's not meant for him. But when Amelia asks him to join with her in an ancient binding ritual, he dares to believe they may have a chance at love after all.
A rich romantic fantasy perfect for fans of Nalini Singh and Christine Feehan.
Wow, I sure wish I had been aware of this series when it began but I will put it on my TBR "Soon" list. Ms Jenkins has a hit with this series and I believe it stands alone as a good story.
This episode has a purpose, the relationship development for the Air witch Amelia. It builds that storyline beautifully with many heart pounding, breath holding, squirm in your seat love scenes between Amelia and her "Knight." I would imagine the first 3 books are a similar purpose for the other 3 witches (water, fire and earth) but the character descriptions and minimal background comments are more than enough to feel connected to the story and characters involved.
If you are squeamish about graphic sex scenes you could have a problem reading this book. ME?: Eyes glued to the perfect scene descriptions and romantic "harlequinesque" emotions they evoked! It's not just the love scenes, it's also the emotional connection of the main characters that keep you obsessed with their relationship.
OH yeah (haha), I almost forgot to mention, as I wipe the sweat of my brow, there is a well structured thrill ride in the battle for the Lower World portals. Even though I thought the torture of Dane a tad bit unbelievable, it has NO distraction for me in the story. But I am a sucker for a steamy hot romance with a loyal Alpha male and great paranormal plot. I read this story in one sitting!
Pick this up as soon as it's released or start from Book 1. Either way you're sure to enjoy!
I give this 4.5 "Hot, steamy and enjoyable" sheep

Delwyn Jenkins likes radical career changes. After serving in the Australian Navy for ten years (and being exceptionally disciplined) she switched to full-time university Arts student (where getting out of bed before 11am proved traumatic). She's worked as a teacher, an editor, and now writes full time - a career she plans to stick with for as long as anyone wants to read her stories.
She's an avid reader and movie-goer, an average bellydancer, and a disinterested cook. She lives on the beautiful south-east coast of Australia where the changeable weather suits her mercurial nature.
Delwyn writes spicy paranormal romance and she can be contacted on Facebook or at delwynjenkins.com
She also writes erotic romance under the pen-name DJ Michaels.
