Such Violent Delights is a holiday anthology featuring 11 short works of paranormal romance. I read six of the 11 pieces. Although Christmas, or variations of the holiday, are a feature in each of the stories I read, it wasn’t a crucial element to any them. I think this anthology could be enjoyed any time of the year. Admittedly, I haven’t read many anthologies and was pleasantly surprised by this collection. I was entertained and intrigued and found a new author of interest.

Favourite Story
I was originally drawn to the anthology because it features Amelia Hutchins, author of the Fae Chronicles and Playing with Monsters series, both of which are favourites of mine. Her Violent Delights contribution is the story Oh Holy Knight, an off-the-charts sexy tale about a highly tumultuous connection. The story takes place in the Fae Chronicles universe and features appearances of favourite Fae Chronicles characters. The story is a teaser for a forthcoming summer 2019 release in the author’s new Templar Knights series. I can’t wait. If this story is any indication, this series will be amazing.

Most Compelling
My new author discovery is S.L. Jennings whose story Devil’s Darling is also featured in the anthology. The story is an in-between-books short story in her Se7en Sinners series. Devil’s Darling was wholly intriguing. I’m absolutely hooked on her Lucifer character and cannot wait to dive into the whole series. Lucifer is a deliciously dark figure with immense wit and power. Se7en Sinners has shot to the top of my TBR for the new year.

Cute, Creative & Captivating
Graceley Knox and D.D. Miers’ anthology feature is a series prequel called Deck the Demons. I was intrigued by this work as I’d started D.D. Miers’ Dark Summoner series years ago. While I hadn’t followed up on the series, I really liked the first book. I liked the format for Deck the Demons. The prequel to the authors’ Halfblood Huntress series gives the reader a starting point for the work without revealing anything to those new to the series. I liked to creativity in the story and sass of its main character. Halfblood Huntress is another series I plan to investigate in the new year.

I also read On A Cold Winter’s Night by Kim Loraine, Buried Destiny by Anne Malcom, and Suck Me by Chantal Fernando, all of which were decent reads. Of this, I was most interested in Kim Loraine’s piece. For a little holiday cheer, check of Such Violent Delights. You may discover your next favourite paranormal romance writer.
