A light conversation over coffee tosses the devil’s daughter out of the frying pan of life’s problems and into the fiery depths of hell.

Sere Mal-Laurette was warned against meeting Jennifer, the real woman behind her doppelgänger body. However, she didn’t mention that instruction to Jennifer during their numerous psychically bonded moments. So when Jennifer shows up in front of Sere’s apartment, the doppelgänger doesn’t see much choice other than to invite the housewife in for a cup of coffee.

Before the day is out, Myles’s sweet little dog has turned into a hellhound, Sere’s friend and sidekick Fisher has succumbed to his demonic possession, and supersized crawfish have emerged from the swamp. Sere is forced to wonder if she should have heeded the warnings about Jennifer. But is the widening of the hell mouth a result of one morning’s coffee conversation, or is something more sinister at work?

Sere has plenty of other explanations to choose from. There are the lost souls of the damned that Ma
evil. There’s the fact that Sere’s sweet angel and mother frjory Laroque cast into hell in her attempt to raise a new digure, Sanguine, has been imprisoned. Worst of all, Sere’s very presence among the living could be the cause of the impending apocalypse. Once again she needs help curbing the chaos, but this time, she’ll call on her support system in hell.

Jennifer, Sere’s doppelganger shows up in New Orleans for Joe’s wake and since Sere didn’t warn her that they aren’t supposed to be in physical contact she is left with nothing else to do but talk to the woman. Then to make matters worse, she receives a call from Ann, Fisher’s wife that something is really wrong with him and that they are rushing him to the hospital. Ann doesn’t know about Fisher’s demonic possession and the team is hoping to help him without informing her of the truth.

Chase has a unique perspective on hell and reality that has made for a fantastic series. It’s not something that has been done repeatedly but is new and refreshing. If you are looking for a new paranormal author than this is the one for you.

G.A. Chase's first official foray into writing was the science fiction series Technopia under the name Greg Chase.

But his passion for New Orleans pulled him from the stars back down to Earth. He fell in love with Big Easy the moment he ate his first dish of crawfish etouffee in a French Quarter restaurant. Gazing at the neighboring two-hundred-year-old structures, he announced to his wife, fellow writer Deanna Chase, that he could easily live in this city. Her look of shock indicated she thought he had been possessed by one of the city's demons.

That was in 2003 and that spirit still hasn't turned him loose. By writing stories inspired and based in New Orleans he hopes to placate his personal demons and angels.
