Seven years after the Monsterpocalypse, Joel Dawson, along with the rest of humanity, has been living underground ever since giant creatures took control of the land. After reconnecting over the radio with his high school girlfriend, Aimee, who is now 80 miles away at a coastal colony, Joel begins to fall for her again. As Joel realizes that there's nothing left for him underground, he decides to venture out to Aimee, despite all the dangerous monsters that stand in his way.
I've missed going to the theater! But I won't be going until the vaccine is available for all. Thank goodness some of the movie studios will be streaming movies at the same time they are in the theaters.
Love and Monsters was a movie my husband, daughter and I wanted to see and it was released On Demand. BUT... it was $20! That's a big nope for us. So we waited for it to drop to the normal On Demand movie price of $6-ish.
It was $6 enjoyable. Love and Monsters is an action comedy and a little campy. I'm a Dylan O'Brien fan so it was nice to see him. These were my favorite characters. Clyde, Minnow and Boy.
It starts a little slow, but ends with a bang. The dog does not die! Had to put that out there, lol. I think I went in with too high of expectations. It is worth a rent if you are looking for something for the family (not the little kids) over the holidays--it has a happy ending.
I give it 3 1/2 "food stealing" Sheep
