The Story Behind The Story: Places of Power by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom

Hi Sheepsters...

I have just released a book that I started in 1995 while traveling through the UK because it recently, as before, whispered the story to me. No plotting necessary.

I had jotted the story down on a series of paper napkins at several pubs in England and Scotland... and had a good start, when I rediscovered those napkins a while ago and wrote the whole thing down as it was supposed to be.

Places of Power derives from a group in the UK known as The Dragon Project, who in the late 1900s studied standing stones and ancient sites, monitoring with their equipment. There were no cell phones then, or modern day ghost-hunter equipment that would have been helpful back then in understanding why these ancient sites are said to hold power and energy. So my book picks up on things as they were in 1995 and all of the sites are real sites that can be found on any map.

The only thing I added to a mostly non-fiction tale, are the characters themselves. All of the research on England's King Arthur were factual at the time.

Places of Power leads readers on a merry chase between ancient sites, and what might happen to people there who really pay attention to their surroundings, and could just have more in their lineage than most folks.

I have included a few photos of the sites in the book. I hope you enjoy following the tale of one woman who feels things more than most, and meets a handsome, sympathetic tour guide who tries to comprehend what's going on.

Genre: Arthurian Fantasy, Magic Romance
Morgan Faulkner is a young historian used to living life through the pages of old books and the stories her father has told her. Her specialty, as was her father’s, is early British centuries, the times and legends of the Arthurian sagas.

Following in her father’s footsteps, Morgan has vowed to find the missing link in the Arthurian sagas that her father had always sought, which makes her ripe for the seemingly spontaneous meeting with John MacQuarrie, an attractive tour guide who could possibly soften the intense loneliness she feels. . . if she’d let him.

But she hears whispers on the wind as she stands on the cliffs. . . Or does she?
Those whispers compel her to dig deep inside herself for ways to get on with the research.

Or maybe those whispers hint of something else? Something to come?

New Release: The Legacy: a new adult Wolf Moons novel by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom

The Legacy: a new adult Wolf Moons novel
by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom
August 12, 2022
Half wolf. Half Fae…and all trouble.

Humans were a fickle, dangerous species. Some were even werewolf Michael Hunter’s enemies. Yet here he was, protecting one of them from things that went bump in the night.

Honor dictated that he save Kaitlin Davies’s life. The only way to do that was to make her one of his own kind. And yet…was Kaitlin completely human to begin with?

Kaitlin Davies had never given a thought to being human. Who would? Until an alpha werewolf saved her life with an infusion of wolf blood, and things changed in directions no one could have foreseen.

Seems her parents had left a few things out about her background. She's Fae? And now that she has a foot in both Fae and Were worlds, the race is on to hunt the predators that are killing students on her college campus, and that nearly killed her. She has to help Michael, the alpha she has fallen hard for, and ultimately decide which world she will choose…if she survives.

If anyone survives

New Release: Immortal Redeemed (The Blood Knight Chronicles) by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom + giveaway

Meet Galahad (that legendary guy) in our century, on a Harley, instead of a steed!

Hello, Sheepsters…

Here’s what we are celebrating today! Let’s have cake.

IMMORTAL REDEEMED.

For this book birthday, I’d like to introduce you to the 4th Blood Knight in the Blood Knight Chronicle series. This series is really special to me because I am such a King Arthur fan.

Here’s the line that started me writing this book…

What if you could meet the legendary knight GALAHAD in this current century, now going by the name of Kellan Ladd, and see where his centuries of immortality have taken him? And who the woman is that just might have the ability to either end his long existence or enhance it . . . This is "Immortal Redeemed."

I had no idea until recently that some of Arthur’s knights were so beautiful, as well as undefeated in battle, because they were immortal. I found this out after meeting a few of them in our current century. So I’ve been writing about what this Brotherhood is up to now . . . these guys I thought were just legends, in tales.

Wow…

They are here, though. Now. Among us. Seven of them.

“Immortal Redeemed” is one of those immortal knights' stories.

My book follows Galahad (now going by the name of Kellan Ladd) as he pursues a quest of his own that brings him to the States, to Seattle.

Lucky us! Who knew?

Kellan Ladd is of the tall, strong and dreamy flavor. He is a sexy Harley-riding immortal who hasn’t forgotten the oaths he once took. A vigilante, as are the other six members of his Blood Knight brotherhood. Oaths that began with “Might for Right” in the days of old, have morphed into a promise to protect mortals from things that hide in the shadows. Now. Today. And Kellan is very good at doing so. Trust me on that.

What got my excitement fired up was finding out what happens when immortals like these guys get tired of their unending existence, and that they do. Immortals must be lonely, out of necessity, when the years and centuries pass them by. Right? Do they constantly long for the warmth of companionship they can never have? That last thought broke my heart.

How would a Blood Knight like Kellan Ladd end his long existence, if he wanted to? Is there an off-switch for just such a need as his?

Well, I found out the answer, and I tell you in this book. Kellan Ladd’s story. Galahad’s story. “Immortal Redeemed.”
*Every now and then an author has a favorite story to write. I’m really excited to say that “Immortal Redeemed” is a favorite of mine. I’m thrilled that reviewers are agreeing with BEST SERIES awards, Top picks, and many stars. Maybe Kellan’s plight strikes a chord in those of us who believe the tales and the search for meaning in our own lives. We might search for love, believing it’s out there, even if we haven’t found it yet.
I’m very happy to share “Immortal Redeemed” with you, and hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

I’d love to hear from you. Really.

P.S. Blood Knight rock! I swear!

So…. I’m giving away a copy of BOOK 1 to celebrate this book’s release. GOLDEN VAMPIRE finds the legendary LANCELOT here. You won’t want to miss either story. Guaranteed.

Cheers mates, for now…

Paranormal Romance Author Linda Thomas-Sundstrom “Can the Moon Seduce?” + giveaway

Hi Sheepsters. I’m Linda Thomas-Sundstrom, here to answer the question above… because as it turns out, I have some knowledge about this very subject.

You see, I write about the moon’s effects on people quite frequently, and study the results. More specifically, I like to write about how the FULL MOON affects certain beings that maybe don’t fall under the normal classification of “people” quite so completely to begin with.

We’re talking about WEREWOLVES here.

And so, the answer to the question above is YES. The moon can seduce the heck out of some of us. Some more than others. It can tug that to the surface that thing some beings keep tucked inside, allow us to give over to the wide side. Run. Howl. Search for like kind.

In the case of my new book SEDUCED BY THE MOON, a moon, whether completely full or not, can lead to strange dreams, new cravings, and the desire for something unknown to happen. A big moon can make the blood rush in our veins, and cause a desire for complete freedom from other life complications…which, of course, can also cause more complications if that moon really is calling to us, and we listen.

Maybe we have a little Were blood somewhere in our DNA, nestled down deep, that we’re unaware of?

What if a sexy man who haunts our dreams steps out of those dreams and into the front yard of our cabin in the woods? What if he might or might not be the Forest Ranger he seems at first glance?

Blame it on the moon.

Because in the case of my many books about the Werewolf species, the moon is a central character all on its own. Friend. Enemy. Catalyst. Guardian of Dreams. A mystery we have to unravel.

SEDUCED BY THE MOON is a paranormal romance thriller set n the Colorado Rockies. One woman, determined to find out what happened to her father, stumbles into a mystery that’s dangerous and deadly. Will a sexy Ranger be able to help her, or will meeting the man of her dreams bring down the moon for a closer look at her present and her past?

I hope you’ll come along for this wild ride, and slip SEDUCED BY THE MOON into your hot little hands tonight. Just make sure there’s no full moon overhead.

Love to everyone.

Linda

SHE MAKES HIM FEEL SO DAMN BEASTY…

by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom
January 12, 2022
“Moonlight is poison to people whose genetics are damaged,” he said.

But can Skylar Donovan, who has come to clear out her late father’s Colorado cabin, be prepared for handsome ranger Gavin Harris’s take on what that warning actually might mean?

Gavin Harris has been bitten by a monster, and has been searching for that beast. His dangerous mission gets more complicated when a beautiful blonde shows up with an agenda of her own that puts her in peril.

Neither is safe from the danger they’re hunting…and the lust that burns between them might be the greatest danger of all.

EXCERPT
Gavin now fought to hold on to the human in him. With Skylar tripping his emotional switches, he felt the moon’s presence through the roof. That moon called to him right now. It’s time, the silver seducer whispered. Don’t fight.

He stood in the front room of the cabin, ignoring that invitation and listening to the sound of the car taking Skylar from him in the nick of time. His blood thickened in his veins. Though moonlight couldn’t reach him here, his wolf pounded at him from the inside, seconds away from a major meltdown and about to be released one notch at a time.

Volts of supernatural electricity charged through him, causing a claw to spring from the tip of the middle finger of his right hand. It was, he thought, appropriate, and a stiff universal gesture to the whole ordeal. More claws followed until all ten fingernails had been replaced, and his hands could now be considered lethal.

When you wish Upon a Star…. With PNR author Linda Thomas-Sundstrom + giveaway

When you wish Upon a Star….
With Linda Thomas-Sundstrom

Once upon a time, Jimminy Crickett sang a song in the movie Pinocchio that we all knew and loved. It went like this: “When you wish upon a star, your dreams come true.”

Ever since that early childhood movie, I have loved the stars and made wishes upon them, with poems like this one:

“Star light, Star Bight, wish I may and wish I might have the wish I wish tonight.”

Do you do that? Notice the stars? Hope for a wish to come true? Maybe that’s a universal thing. And it inspired my story that comes out today as an e-book.

“BRIGHT STAR.”

This is a story about a woman whose business is to research the stars, and one star in particular… the big, bright, legendary Christmas Star that some people also know as the Star of Bethlehem. She’s on a mission to find the exact time and location of that star in history, through astronomy.

She’s also lonely, and alone, after the death of her parents, who taught her about making wishes and the stars. So… of course, she is going to make her wish this holiday season to end her loneliness.

*Some of you might already know that I write mostly in the paranormal romance genre, with 40 books that trespass in the supernatural realms to date. This story has a truly magical storyline that suits that genre, and has a special place in my heart.

I lost my mother last Christmas. The holidays were her favorite time of the year, and that joy transferred to me. I miss my mom deeply and share the star of my story, Savannah Clark’s, loneliness for times past. My other often called herself a “star child,” and sat on a blanket staring up at the night skies. True inspiration for a story comes from deep within us, I’ve been told. From the people around us, family, and our surroundings. I think this is true. And as sometimes happens, my own wish was granted for the perfect mate for me some time ago. Therefore, I truly believe.

Bright Star has been called a feel-good, magical Christmas tale by reviewers. It’s about sharing the emotions and feelings of the season with others who understand these things less than we might.

In this case, Savannah Clark shares the magic of the season with an immortal who has come to stop her from discovering the origins and placement of that Christmas Star for reasons important to those who have sent him to her. Will finding the star change history, or modify religious doctrine? Who exactly is the immortal who calls himself Dylan McCay?

Savannah is sort of a bright star, herself, in terms of sharing the simpler pleasures relating to the holidays. Although Dylan, sent from a place outside of the range of our current knowledge, just might begin to see things through her eyes. He might be attracted to her intelligence, her take on the research, and her sincerity. But will that be enough for him to blow his mission?

Can wishes come true for anyone? Everyone? You?

My next wish is that you’ll read BRIGHT STAR.

And that you will tell your friends.

Christmas stories are my favorites, as are Christmas movies.

The beautiful cover art captures the mood, I think, of this story.

Ever wonder if wishing on a star could actually work?

Savannah is close to discovering the date and actual location of the "Christmas Star." Little does she know that the handsome stranger who shows up on her doorstep just days before Christmas has been sent to stop her from doing just that.

Their goals are personal, and important. Some might say those goals are even life-threatening. But will the Christmas spirit Savannah exudes sway Dylan McKay from his mission? Beyond trees and cookies and lights, can a human teach an immortal about the spirit behind the holiday, and about the power of love?

I’ve written two other Christmas stories, one for Harlequin – The Boss’s Mistletoe Maneuvers
And a quirky urban fantasy story called Hot Holiday
Believe it or not, both of these are about sharing, in one way or another, the magic of the season. I think I must have Christmas in my blood. *smiles*

So, from me to you… and with all of the magic of the season coming upon us…

Happy holidays.

Peace, love … and may your wishes be heard, too.

Linda

TWO BOOKS this month. Oh my! With best-selling author Linda Thomas-Sundstrom + giveaway

TWO BOOKS this month. Oh my!
With best-selling author Linda Thomas-Sundstrom

So exciting…

Look what’s being born this month, Sheepsters.

Out this weekend...
The Blood Knight Chronicles book 2, Immortal Obsession, is a new twist on the Arthurian/Holy Grail legends, and a bunch of “Top Picks” and 5-star advance reviews.

And the holidays kick in on October 15th with…
Strange Holiday Spirits (a wickedly quirky new urban fantasy boxed set for folks who want something a little different from their reading experience).

I am thrilled to be able to chat with you about these book birthdays. Releasing a book just never gets old, or less of a headrush. I’ve had 38 book birthdays so far, to date, and can’t wait for these. Getting stories told and into your hands is what this writing gig is all about. Connecting. So I do hope you’ll give them a try.

The Blood Knight Chronicles series is in the paranormal suspense genre, where action and danger abound, and darkness hides trouble. Golden Vampire (July 2019) was the first in this series, but all of them are standalone books really.

IMMORTAL OBSESSION (book 2) is set in London, where an American newscaster on the job wants to help find three missing girls… and discovers that London is loaded with beings that aren’t quite human. My Blood Knight in this series is to die for if you like danger and legend mixed together. Christopher St.John is the lead here, and he’s a soul that has existed since the times of the Round Table, getting better and stronger as the centuries go by, and still on a quest that will tangle him up with that red-haired newscaster.

Ah… and then there are the upcoming holidays. And what would 🎃Halloween (Samhain) and ðŸŽ„Christmas be without a hard twist on those celebrations? *smiles*

STRANGE HOLIDAY SPIRITS is a really pretty boxed set of three wickedly tweaked urban fantasy stories. Here, there are witches and werewolves in Salem, gargoyles, banshees, and angels on top of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, and a Recruiter from the Dark Side who is going after Santa Claus in New York. (Did I mention the talking elevator with attitude?) Not comedies, but a different kind of dark fare.

If you didn’t get to Notre Dame Cathedral before the fire, you can see its upper decks here, (called the Gallerie des Chimeras), and imagine what it looked like. One of the stories in this boxed set was conceived there, on that upper deck.

If you need more of an explanation about the Blood Knight Chronicles series, here it is:
A long time ago, a group called the Seven was formed from seven of the best knights of the Round Table. These knights were offered immortality in order to protect a holy relic known as the Grail.

Seven immortal knights, protectors of the Grail, will live through time until we find them now, in the current century…. in this series. Called “Blood Knights” because of the way they became immortal. If not exactly righteous, something close, with the will to protect humankind from monsters that lurk in the shadows of a modern world.
One Blood Knight per book in this series. Seven books.

More info about STRANGE HOLIDAY SPIRITS?
Here are the three titles: Trapped in Stone, De-Witched, and Hot Holiday. Each of these is also available individually in ebook formats, but here’s the thing:
💥This boxed set is on pre-order for just 99 cents until release day on Oct 15th.💥

Book love.

So……… I smile as I write this, because I love the holidays, and I love Arthurian tales, and I love writing books. There just couldn’t be a better gig than hanging out with all of those things, and with you. (Except maybe for chocolate and pink champagne).

Got questions? Leave them here. And maybe you’ll want to enter the birthday gift giveaway of a signed print version of one of my other books in the Blood Knight series. The Blood Knight Chronicles by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom + giveaway

The Blood Knight Chronicles is reborn with a new twist on legends.
With best-selling author Linda Thomas-Sundstrom

Hi there, Sheepters. Happy Monday to you all. So glad you could join me here for a look at this new paranormal series that has, like its immortal main characters, just been reborn to ebooks and print.

This is a happy birthday celebration post for the first book release in a seven-book series titled The Blood Knight Chronicles. Take a peek at book 1…

GOLDEN VAMPIRE
Before we meet this book’s hunky immortal main character, here’s the scoop on the series.

The Blood Knight Chronicles (7 book series)
A long time ago, a group called the Seven was formed from seven of the best knights of the Round Table. These knights were offered immortality in order to protect a holy relic known as the Grail, which contains secretive powers best kept hidden from the masses.

Seven immortal knights, protectors of the Grail, will live through time until we find them now, in the current century…. in this series. Called “Blood Knights” because of the way they became immortal. Not vampires, though they do possess not only fangs, but longings for the kind of justice no mortal men could conceive of. Undefeated in battle. Unearthly gorgeous. If not exactly righteous, something close, with the will to protect humankind from monsters that lurk in the shadows of a modern world.

One Blood Knight per book in this series. Seven books.

First up: Lance VanBaaren. (You might recognize the name LANCE from legends surrounding the Round Table. Yep. He just might be that one).
by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom
July 12, 2019

Publisher: GothicScapes
When tough ex-cop Jesse Stewart finds him by accident while in Europe on a missing senator’s daughter case… and they meet face-to-face… both Lance and Jesse must reconcile the immediacy of their feelings of connection and either dig, tooth and nail, into a hidden past, or go down fighting for a just cause.

In the lead to this post, I used the term reborn. That’s because the first version of Golden Vampire was published by Harlequin’s Nocturne line in 2011. Now in the hands of GothicScapes, my author edition of this story sees the light. YAY !!!

Reborn. Like Lance and his six Blood Knight brethren, to face a new time.

Posted here is the original 2011 cover from Nocturne (which looked nothing like Lance). The new GothicScapes cover above captures Lance much as I envisioned him.

Golden Vampire was translated into several languages and remains a great and inspiring first book in this series that continues this October with Immortal Obsession.
I hope this reworking of legendary characters spikes your interest, as it spiked mine. I’m writing the sixth book about them now, and fall in love with each and every one for their looks, strengths, sense of honor, and even their flaws. I mean, when they love, they love forever!
More of these knights can currently also be found in the Nocturne line: check out Immortal Redeemed (Galahad) and Angel Unleashed there.

Look for more from the GothicScapes label in the future on all retail sites, and a few spin-offs as well.

Got questions? Leave them here. And maybe you’ll want to enter the birthday gift giveaway of a signed print version of one of the books in this series. Immortal Redeemed – also a “top pick” from trusted review sites.

Happy reading!

Cheers for now~
