It’s so dark in his life that his Claimed mates may never get out.

Becca Grimm is a Legion demon and has known one thing since she was a young girl: she would have a breeding pact. That her breeding pact partner turned out to be her Tether was a dream come true until he broke her heart, and then she wanted to break his face until he crawled back to kiss her feet.

But Jumper’s world is darker and more secretive than he’s ever let on. Even with her guardian-Tethers, at her side, she can barely navigate it. And finding her way back to the light is impossible in a world where wickedness reigns.

Becca can’t say no to the things Jumper demands of her. She loves the things that Tobin wants from her. And she can’t look away from the things she sees Jumper and Crux do together.

Prologue
I dial Jumper’s number for the third time. When it goes to voicemail, I growl. It’s just like the jackass to stand us up. Crux, Tobin, Jumper, and I all had plans to go to Sapp’s Coffee Shop for breakfast, but it was two now, and I’d heard nothing from him all day. I stretch and yawn. If I’d known he was going to flake, I would have slept in.

“Becca, mail for you,” Andy says, grinning and tossing me a handful of college packets. I don’t order them, he does. I flip through them. “Northwestern? You think the four of us are going to Illinois?” I raise a brow.

“I don’t care where you go, as long as you don’t end up a statistic,” my brother grumbles. “Where are dumb and dumber?”

“Making food with Adina,” I nod toward the kitchen.

“I know they are your Tethers, but look at me and Adina… we waited, and we survived. You don’t have to rush things. Go to school first, Becca. Claim one another later. Real love can stand still for five minutes.” Andy stands and leaves me with that.

I grab my phone and call Jumper again. When it goes to voicemail this time, I leave him a quick voice message. “Thanks for canceling, drummerboy. Next time, actually let me know you aren’t showing.”

My phone rings as soon as I hang up. Thinking it’s Jumper finally calling, I answer.

“Hello, shit-for-brains–” I start.

Lilah cuts me off. “Is he with you!?”

“Is who with me?” I ask.

“Jump. Is Jump with you?” she asks, tension high in her voice.

I shake my head, though she can’t see it. “No. He’s not with me. He stood me up this morning.”

“When did you last talk to him?” Lilah asks quickly.

“Two days ago,” I answer with my heart racing. I just know something is wrong.

“He’s missing, Becca. Jump is missing. No one has seen him in two days,” Lilah sobs.

Book Review: Unchained Desire (Rapture Book 1) by R.C. Alvarez

Unchained Desire (Rapture Book 1)
by R.C. Alvarez
May 27, 2019
269 pages
Publisher: Entangled: Amara
Chained to a demon queen for hundreds of years, fallen angel Ramiel has given up on his brothers and sisters—and humanity. He has seven days away from hell to replenish his power and that’s all he cares about—right up until his meeting with the much too innocent Kyria. He fell for that act before and it landed him in hell, he won’t be making that mistake again.

To save her sick father, Kyria knows she must find Ramiel. He’s dark, brooding and everything Kyria should be scared of, but the haunted look in his eyes makes her think there’s more to him. The tattoos and chains don’t frighten her either, but the connection she has with him does. When strange creatures attack her, Ramiel steps in to protect her.

Ramiel believes he’s reluctantly helping Kyria, but what neither of them knows is that she may be the one to save them all...

Thinking how to start this review and all I can come up with is, what a damn fun debut story! There was so much to enjoy and all kinds of sexy characters that kept me hooked until the very end.

Seriously, a great way to kick off a new author and saga on such a strong note. Tons character building and nice foundation for a new world that this author does a fantastic job balancing. Never too much of one thing, yet giving up all that juicy romance we buy these books for.

Hot as Hades at times and filled with humor at others. This story never takes itself too seriously, yet looses nothing with an artful take on the genera. I'm a fan already, looking forward to the next stop on this PNR road.

The Demon King’s Destiny (Fate of Imperium Series, #3)
by C.A. Worley
February 25, 2019
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance
When Marrok, the Demon King of Sundari, meets his fated mate in the dreamworld, he ignores the pull of the saatus bond. He has no desire to make a life with the female, not with his past being what it is. Unable to deny the bond for long, Marrok accepts his demon spirit’s need for its mate. He plans to use their connection to prevent him from turning rogue, while keeping his heart safely buried in the past.

Since the age of six, Evelyn has been dreaming of the Demon King. When she starts having visions of his past, old betrayals are brought to light, including an ancient brotherhood who has been working against the pair for decades. Knowing Marrok may never love her in the way she loves him, Evelyn chooses to fight for their future anyway. She’ll protect everyone she loves from the insidious group—or die trying.

***The Demon King’s Destiny is the third book in the Fate of Imperium Series. Each book is the story of a different king and his fated mate. While the three books do not have to be read in order, it is highly recommended.

EXCERPT:
Evelyn felt the change before she opened her eyes. Her stance widened and her hands flexed with her magics.

No calm breeze brushed across the clearing. Tonight, a blistering wind struck her form, its howling whistle bounced irritatingly off her eardrums.

Instead of soft blues and purples, the moon was giving off shades of red and orange. Flames crackled and licked the trees of the forest, but nothing was burning. The dreamworld, or something in it, was irritated.

Slowly, she rotated, seeking information, waiting for the elements to speak. They buzzed, drawing her attention to one of the paths connecting the clearing to the woods.

The fire split into columns on either side of the trail and a form emerged from within the inferno. Tall, with broad shoulders and a lean trunk, the male stalked forward.

Blackened eyes locked on hers, so intense she felt them in her core. Long, predatory strides moved him directly in her path. Without thought, Evelyn opened the barrier and he stepped into the clearing.

The wind screamed and the only other sound she could hear was the boom of her thundering heart. He advanced swiftly, everything about his approach screamed he was a man possessed. His intent couldn’t be clearer.

In two second she was in his arms, his mouth slamming into hers. This first kiss—the first she’d ever experienced—was hard and unyielding. It was nothing like she had imagined, and almost more than she was prepared to receive. This wasn’t the kiss of a lover. It was a punishment.

Evelyn gasped and Marrok took advantage of her parted lips, driving his tongue into her mouth. Her fingers clenched the fabric on his shoulders as she trembled in his embrace, struggling to stay on her feet.

Her veins throbbed, her heated blood reaching a rapid boil. His arms tightened and she knew he’d never let her fall.

Evelyn felt him everywhere. His powers slid up and down her skin, caressing, inciting. Their shared breaths depleted her of oxygen and tiny pinpoints of light burst from behind her eyelids.

The high-pitched winds built into a crescendo and the blazes roared. Higher and higher until the dreamworld exploded with a blinding radiance, bathing their bodies in the white of their magics before returning once more to muted colors and a calm breeze. The forest was once again covered in purple and blue moonbeams.

The world settled, along with Marrok’s spirit. He’d been on the verge of something terrible. He’d gotten worse every day without his saatus. Another two years without her was out of the question.

Feeling once more in control of himself, he slowed the kiss, bringing a hand up to palm the back of her head. His lips drifted to the corner of her mouth, then to her temple, before dropping to her ear.

“Never again, moj draga,” he warned, biting her earlobe.

She shivered. “P-pardon?”

“You’ll never again wait so long to summon me.” He failed to mention his own unsuccessful attempts to enter her world.

Evelyn, still reeling from his arduous assault, took a moment to process. He was upset she hadn’t pulled him into her dreams. She smiled against his chest, then tipped her head back.

“Missed me, did you?”

“Don’t tease.”

“I’m not. I just wanted to hear you say it.”

“I don’t know you well enough to miss you. But I never imagined, little mate, once I’d confirmed for you that you were my saatus, you’d wait so long.”

Evelyn attempted to free herself from his arms. He didn’t budge and she glared up at him. “And I didn’t think, once you confirmed for me that I was your saatus, you’d do absolutely nothing to find me.”

He let go and she felt oddly bereft when he put space between them.

“So you didn’t call for me out of some sort of revenge?” he snapped, trying to let go of the last of his frustration.

“What? Of course not. And what makes you think I didn’t call for you?”

A muscle in his jaw ticked. He glared at his gorgeous mate, who had physically matured greatly in these last two years. Evelyn would be twenty-one by the next solstice, which meant she’d reached full physical maturity during their time apart.

Her cheekbones were more pronounced, giving off a regal countenance. Her small nose pointed to two full, pouty lips, still swollen from their shared passion.

Her breasts were larger, rounder, making her waist appear tiny. Maybe it was tiny. He was having trouble concentrating, caught between spanking her arse and kissing her senseless again.

“I think you didn’t call for me because I haven’t seen you in almost two and a half years, Evelyn.”

A thrill shot through her. Marrok really was upset about being away from her. He must have missed her greatly. “I’ll remind you I have no idea how you come to me in my dreams. Besides, I thought demons could break into the dreams of others, if they chose.”

His arms crossed, not liking the reminder. He, too, had tried everything he knew of to enter her dreamworld. For more than two years he’d desperately hunted her in his sleep, needing the touch of her skin to sooth his mind. With every attempt, he came up against a barrier he could not breach.

He’d come close to riding on Gwydion to retrieve her. When he’d last left, she’d been battered and bruised. He wanted to know of her health, to look upon her with his own eyes. The dreamworld was the only safe place to do so.

Several more attempts had been made by the rogues to breach the walls of the Terenuskit Fortress, the building he called home. Only the constant fighting kept him away from his mate. It reinforced the fact she would not be safe in Sundari.

Marrok was the strongest of his species. It was too risky for him to travel to the Westland and leave his people vulnerable. Or, worse, risk rogue demons following him. He was loath to bring her to the Southland. What was he to do? He felt like he was fighting on every front of his existence.

Evelyn licked her lips and he fixated on the reddened skin. He hadn’t intended to be so rough and he certainly hadn’t expected her to return with equal fervor. His trousers had grown uncomfortably tight, a direct result of her enthusiasm.

“If it means anything,” she said, “I did try reaching out to you. I’ve tried every night since. I was afraid you wouldn’t come for me so I tried to pull you here. I thought … I was afraid something had happened to you. They cut you.” Her voice whispered the last part sadly.

Marrok’s face softened. His mate had worried he’d been harmed. He reached for her and she didn’t resist his embrace.

Resting his chin atop her head, he told her, “I tried, as well. Dreamwalking is tricky business and, obviously, I was just as unsuccessful.”

“Why didn’t you come for me? To Gwydion?”

“My kingdom is not a safe place to be. I’m not inclined to endanger you.”

“Then don’t bring me to Sundari. You can still come to see me, to visit, maybe speak to my father?” she added hopefully.

Marrok exhaled. “Walk with me.”

He spoke with no emotion and Evelyn’s heart plummeted. He wasn’t going to come for her.

Even with magic, finding your place in the world proves more difficult than imagined especially when someone is out for revenge.

Synn, a demon, carries extraordinary magic and power, but there is more within her than she dreams. Kidnapped as a child, her captors murdered her family and forced her into training as a warrior assassin.

When an assignment goes horribly wrong, she finds herself at the mercy of the friends and family of her intended target. Offering valuable information in exchange for protection, she gains her freedom, but it is not without its challenges.

Gavin Shaughnessy is the publican at his family’s Irish pub. He is certain Synn is meant to be his and isn’t bothered by her past. He must find a way to convince her their future together is stronger than the dark memories that haunt her dreams.

When her past comes calling for revenge, will their love survive the raging inferno she brings down upon them? Or will the searing path of destruction destroy all they hold dear.

Book 5 in this PNR series is certainly geared for those who have invested and known all the back history. I sadly did not. Sometimes you can read a book at any point in the series and not skip a beat, I felt a bit lost and often.

With a lot of characters coming to and from the pages, it felt like there was a big meet-up that I was invited to at the last minute. And I hate being a last minute date choice! I would have loved to just sit down, plug in and get on with the show. That didn't end up happening.

I will admit that toward the middle.....I skimmed to the end. Just did not connect here. Hopefully, fans of the series will love this one and please read other reviews before you decide.

Excerpt:
Time seemed to go on forever as she slowed and walked backward for a while, her footsteps in the sand filling with water as she traveled along the shoreline as if nature erased her intrusion. She turned around and continued her trek. Unaware of how long or how far she'd walked, the sudden outline of a figure, cloaked in the fog, jogging toward her caused panic to set in. Her heart pounded rapidly in her chest, she swallowed hard, adrenalin pumping through her veins as flight or fight response kicked in. Digging her good foot into the sand she prepared to attempt a sprint…to where. Where the hell am I? A quick glance around, she spied a light from a familiar building far off on the bluffs as the figure burst from the fog. A tall, wide-shouldered male with long muscular legs came closer. She froze.

Once lithe, strong and agile in her former life, a boss’s retaliation had taken a toll on her body. Now tired her gait was uneven and unsteady, even a slow sprint would likely end with her face planted in the sand.

Taste Test

"Have you ever even tasted alcohol?" he asked.

"Of course."

"Then you know one drink won't corrupt you." He advanced closer. Her eyes focused on his lips. A drink wouldn't corrupt her, but another kiss might.

"No, thank you," she whispered again. Why wasn't she feeling for the doorknob? Why wasn't she backing her way to safety? Because she couldn't seem to drag her eyes away from his lips, which moved toward hers as inexorably as a grass fire. He stopped a scant few inches away. She could feel the heat coming off his body.

"Shall I kiss you?" he asked.

For a moment, she was confused. Was he asking for consent? Or was he asking himself if kissing her would yield a reward worth the effort? His scent and his heat and those perfectly sculpted lips enticed her toward him. Say no, she ordered herself. This man is a danger. He's out to harm you, to destroy your clinic, to steal your soul.

"Yes," she said.

His lips touched hers and the world seemed to whirl around them. His hands cupped her jaw and his mouth massaged hers, encouraging her to open to him. Tantalizing touches on her lips from his tongue seconded the invitation. Although it felt as though every organ in her torso had liquefied, some shred of common sense kept her lips stubbornly closed. He kissed along her cheekbone, his mouth seeming to melt flesh from bone.

His hand moved behind her head, trapping it in place.

"Kiss me," he murmured against her ear. His warm, damp breath brought out gooseflesh all the way to her ankles. "Forget about your clinic for a moment and kiss me the way a woman kisses a man."

But he wasn't a man. He was a demon. With that, the spell was broken. She pushed him away and pointed at the Ducati. "Go."

He tried to draw her into his arms again. "That's not what you want."

He was right, but she wouldn't give him the satisfaction of admitting it. She pulled her cell phone from the pocket of her shorts. "Go or I call nine-one-one."

On the dark stretch of road that lay between Alexandria and beach, Belial crouched over the Ducati, taking it through its gears until it roared to maximum speed. The wind slipped inside the back of his t-shirt, and for a dizzying moment, it felt as though he were flying.

There was no question in his mind that he'd touched something in Dara's core, something that had been in abeyance since the death of her husband. At the thought of her beneath him, his loins burned. Sex with her would be a moment of rapture in an eternity of damnation.

Her rounded body was on his mind far more than it should be. He needed to bed her, so that he could slot her back into the category where she belonged—prey.

MAKING A DEAL WITH A DEMON: PROS AND CONS

PROS:
• Never having to worry about being misunderstood (your bonded demon can read your thoughts)

• Romantic moments won’t be few and far between, and will happen exactly when you want them to (and when you’re tired he’ll just accept “no.”)

• He probably won’t be averse to dressing in romantic shirts with ruffles, ties or lace cuffs…or in his bare skin, on command. Same goes for foot rubs!

• You won’t ever have to deal with a mid-life crisis. Demons don’t age!

• You won’t ever have to have the discussion about how his body has changed since he was eighteen. You may get to have the discussion of whose body you’d like him to inhabit, a.k.a., possess!

• His sex drive will remain constant and unchanging…and HIGH

• Relative Immortality = LOTS and LOTS of experience…in ALL areas. Need I say more?

• You’ll never need to fix him his dinner…only give him a suggestion of who to target to BE his dinner. You can command him to fix YOU dinner!

• He will defend your life to the death…as if you die, he’ll be sent back to Hell.

CONS:
• You’re going to have a problem getting into church (Demon taint to the soul, and all that)

• If your demon is wounded, you will feel his pain as if it were your own.

• Your lover will not understand how hard it is to diet, lose weight, or restrain from eating certain foods (but will likely constantly tell you that he understands)

• You’ll have to dispense with all religious objects in your home, or jewelry, as all types of faith are a no-no that cause demons pain

• You may need to explain modern conveniences to him, depending on when he was last out of Hell

• Hooves and horns aren’t fun in bed

• He’s likely to be a chauvinist, if a mild one, and may need constant reminding that what was appropriate in 0017 is not appropriate in 2017

• Your soul might be flagged for Hell, depending on your binding agreement (check the fine print)

• You’ll suddenly be the target of demon hunters, who know that killing you will land that hated demon of yours back in Hell

• You might be viewed as a snack in the event you break your agreement with him

Any additions to the list you can think of, blog readers? Please leave a comment!

It takes talent on the part of an author to get me rooting for someone who's decidedly not a 'good person'. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I would recommend to anyone who likes something a little different in the way of paranormal romance and would enjoy a more mature heroine. Five Stars.

The international best selling saga continues....

All my life, I've had plans.

Dying the day before beginning the first year of my surgical residency wasn't one of them.

Finding myself drafted in the eternal war between good and evil wasn't one of them, either.

And dealing with friends, enemies, and lovers I don't remember?

Definitely not in my plans.

Winged: The Complete Series Box Set
$.99

Being confused and a little disappointed about the lack of character development and storyline information in this read I did check around (after I was finished) and found that there are 10 other "Winged" series installments. I thought I was reading a first in a series! Surprise! No wonder I had so many questions about who, where and what the purpose was of all the archangels and "others". I was drawn in to the story but as I kept reading, I thought..."there must be more history somewhere". I must assume that the characters of Joanne, Gideon, Galbrial, Raphael and the others were developed in previous issues. And I thought that Lucinda (a newly deceased) was the main character when in reality she will probably be another addition to the "winged" alliance (or not depending on the outcome). That was the other thing that threw me off..it ended with a cliffhanger that must be resolved in the next issue (hence my thoughts about it being first in a series). I know I am probably not making a lot of sense but now you know how I felt while reading this as a stand-a-lone.

I thought the premise was an interesting take on the here-after. But I couldn't understand why there was little use of supernatural powers and that everyone in the "compound" (even that threw me) was able to get ill, hurt, depressed, married and bear children. Hmm. Sounds like an alternate universe theme. Don't get me wrong, that's an OK scenario but without the history of the winged, I felt a little lost in the telling. The idea of a new recruit having to go through a tough evaluation was clever and perhaps the take on "God" a little metro and would appeal to some additional audiences. The possession of a deceased by another deceased is a decidedly interesting twist.

I really enjoyed the penmanship and snarky, sometimes humorous dialogue. Apparently I am not alone since the previous 10 in the series have gotten rave reviews for the most part. I just started behind the 8 ball and will need to run the table before I can probably give an accurate assessment of this series. Was this book enough to keep you intrigued about the next installment? I would say a definite "heck yes!" if you have read the other issues and a "sure" if you haven't read the others and make it to the end with that big cliffhanger. I would like to find out what happens to Gabriel and the new "possessed" recruit Lucinda.

Getting 3.5 "shooting in the dark" sheep!

Book Review: Claimed by a Demon King (Eternal Mates #2) by Felicity Heaton

Claimed by a Demon King
By: Felicity Heaton
Eternal Mates (Book 2)

Plot:
The moment the demon King Thorne of the Third Realm set eyes on the mortal huntress Sable, he knew she was his fated one. The fiery, dangerous female awakened hungers he had never experienced before, a dark craving and passion that has consumed him in their time apart. As the lunar cycle wanes, she enters his world again and nothing will stand in the way of him claiming his forever with her—not the relentless assault from the Fifth Realm or the dark elf male determined to seduce her out of his grasp.

Intent on achieving the coveted position of commander at Archangel, Sable leads her small team into the dark underworld and the Third Realm, to a war where her allies are the very creatures she normally hunts—vampires, werewolves, and demons. Her eagerness to lead the deadly mission has everything to do with winning her promotion, and nothing to do with the kingdom’s brash, lethally seductive demon king—a king who stirred fierce desire and wildfire heat in her with just a look and an innocent touch when they first met, and has been in her wicked dreams ever since.

As the gathering storm between rivals unleashes irresistible passion that flares white-hot and the heat of the battle brings life-shattering realisations, can Sable place her duty before her heart? Or will she surrender to her deepest desires and be claimed by a demon king?

Wow, what a read Claimed by a Demon King was! I’m really impressed with this series so far, it’s got a lot going for it, especially in the paranormal department!

I liked that some of the conflicts that remained at the end of book one are continued in this book and still have no solution, it keeps a reader like me coming back for more and it definitely keeps things interesting. I loved seeing Loren and Olivia again along with Bleu, who I still want to see get his story, especially after losing Sable to Thorne.

Speaking of Sable…

Can I just say that I adore a heroine who can hold her own in a paranormal romance? Sable is proof that a woman can be a total ball buster without losing her femininity. I don't like wimpy, whiny or useless females in romances, but especially not in paranormal romance so Sable is such a plus in this story! She’s one of those women who can and will go toe to toe with any demon, vampire, shifter or witch. She’s fearless without being cocky or reckless, and she was an excellent match for Thorne, the demon king.

Thorne was the biggest surprise though. I expected him to be a borderline murderous, anger fueled demon, you know, like they always are in paranormal romances, but Thorne just... Isn't. It's not to say that he isn't dangerous or hasn't killed, he has, but he has this hidden depth to him that just caught me off guard. He loves his people, he's kind, generous and big hearted but most of all, he adores Sable and would do anything for her. It takes him a while but he comes to see Sable as his equal as well as his mate and while every thing in him wants to hide Sable and keep her safe, he respects her enough to know that she would never forgive him for making her out to be weak and defenseless. I adored Thorne.

Claimed by a Demon King features some familiar faces from Felicity Heaton's Vampire Erotic Theatre series as well as an appearance by Bleu, Loren and Olivia from book 1. There's a great battle scene at the end that I just couldn't get enough of. There's so much going on, so many small scenes involving secondary characters that create a possible build up for future stories.

I am really enjoying this new series by Felicity Heaton, and though Claimed by Demon King is a pretty long book, I never got bored!

My only complaint is: When are Bleu and Vail going to get their books?

Book Review (ARC): Wicked Waves (Solsti Prophecy #2) by Sharon Kay

Wicked Waves (Solsti Prophecy #2)
by Sharon Kay
ebook, 355 pages
Expected publication: January 21st 2014
Making daggers out of raindrops is only the tip of the iceberg for Brooke Bonham. As one of four women who can control the elements, her ability to manipulate water packs a deluge of potential. Eager to learn more, she’s frustrated at the precautions she must take to avoid the wrong kind of attention on Earth.

Kai's duties as a Lash demon have kept him busy on Earth for nearly two hundred years. Fighting? He was born to do it. Females? They're drawn to him. And Earth? The perfect place for him to avoid supernatural bounty hunters.

Though the two of them mix like oil and water, Kai senses that beneath Brooke’s frosty exterior hides a vortex of simmering passion. He’s determined to thaw his ice princess.

Forced to work together in the immortal realm, they track a rogue Lash demon at the helm of a widespread kidnapping operation. All too soon, Kai’s dark past catches up to them. Time runs out as a second enemy, bent on revenge, vows to stop at nothing short of Brooke’s enslavement and Kai’s death. As they and their foes stalk each other in a demonic game of cat-and-mouse, will her evolving skills and their fledgling bond be enough to save them?

Kai knows what it's like to be a slave because many years ago he had been caught and brought to the arena where he had to fight other kidnapped slaves just to stay alive. But he escaped with the help of a guard who asked him to kill a slave who raped and murdered his sister. Now, years later the Solsti have returned and he along with the other demons he lives with are trying to keep them safe as well as help them learn how to use their powers. There's something coming, something bad and they have to be prepared for it. What Kai isn't prepared for is Brooke.

Brooke and her sisters have recently learned they are Solsti and they have powers over the elements. Brooke's element to control is water and she's just now learning what she can do with this power. The demons are teaching her and her sister how to defend themselves against the bad demons who would hurt or kill them. There's just one problem and his name is Kai.

I knew right away that I was going to like this book because Kai and Brooke hate each other and always had something snide to say when they were in the same room with one another. You could feel the sarcasm dripping off the walls when they talked to each other and could picture the eye rolls and sneers that they gave to one another in passing.

I love it when the hero and heroine start out hating each other and slowly one of them sees past the flaws of the other because they have the hots for them. That is what happened here with this couple. Kai knows he really messed up their initial meeting and knows Brooke can't stand him but he doesn't know what to do to fix the situation until he realizes that some of those stares she's been giving him haven't been filled with daggers but with lust.

Their budding relationship is really put to the test when they have to travel to the demon realm, Torth. Brooke learns about Kai's time as a slave and she also learns she's more powerful than she realized.

There is another storyline going on at the same time the main storyline is happening. Raniero and Ashina find themselves back together after one hundred years apart. Ashina's father made a deal with Raniero, that he wouldn't kill his daughter if Raniero agreed to be his employee and stay away from his daughter for the time of his forced employment. There's more than meets the eye to these two characters and I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of them in subsequent books.

I've read two books in this series so far and have loved them both and can't wait to see what happens next. If you like your books filled with demons, demon realms, witches, hot alpha males and heroines who aren't afraid to kick some ass when they need too, then this is the series for you.

I give this book 5 sheep!

Sharon Kay was bitten early by the writing bug. At age twelve she wrote a short story, about a magic ring, that won a statewide contest. With her nose always in a book, she read the most novels for her age group in her local library’s summer reading program.

In her teens, writing took a back seat to fashion, as she was determined to find clothes different from what everyone else bought at the mall. And what she couldn’t find, she created. She learned to sew, worked in a fabric store after school, and spent her spare time with a needle in hand. Her black and orange prom dress is still one of her favorite creations.

She majored in apparel design in college, spending her summers working in costume shops and bridal boutiques. She worked for ten years in the Chicago garment industry, then switched her focus to apparel production logistics before becoming a stay at home mom.

Sharon lives in the Chicago area with her husband and son, and didn’t expect to write again. But Wicked Wind and the Solsti series formed in her head one weekend and refused to stay quiet until she put pen to paper. Her characters tend to keep her up at night, as they banter, fall in love, and slay endless varieties of power-hungry demons.
