Book Review: Troll-y Yours by Sheri Fredricks

SHE TAKES A CHANCE.

Determined to forge a better life, Ella launches her new business with high hopes—until a sexy Centaur bumps into her and throws her life off course forever. Voted “Most Eligible Bachelor in Boronda”, Aleksander shakes up her world and tilts her in more ways than one.

HE’S IN DANGEROUS TERRITORY.

Years of warfare and countless bedroom encounters have stolen Kempor Aleksander’s luster for life. He never expects to rediscover his zeal in the small, redheaded form of Ella the Troll, who fires his blood hotter than the deepest caverns in the forest.

But as trouble lingers in their midst—and edges ever closer—Alek and Ella spiral into troubled terrain. Turning to each other, the pair face down dangers that run impenetrably deep in their mythological world. But will the two lovers discover a passion that runs even deeper?

Centaurs, Satyrs, and Trolls Oh My!

Troll-y Yours is definitely something different for me. An honest to goodness Centaur as a hero and a Troll as a heroine? Yes please!

Centaur warrior Aleksander is bored with life in general. Centuries of war and detached encounters with numerous females has left Alek jaded and a little lost. It isn't until an odd little troll bumps into him that his life turns upside down.

Ella is trying so hard to get her speed dating service, Troll-y Yours off the ground. She needs the money so she can move out of her oppressive parents' house and into a place of her own. Everything seems to be going well on her first day of work until she bumps into Alek. Thinking he's just another rowdy but gorgeous male, she manages to brush him off. Unfortunately fate has other plans.

Troll-y Yours is a fun romance, there's just no other way to describe it. The characters are interesting and the story is engaging and sexy at the same time. Author Sheri Fredricks effortlessly brings her world to life without dragging out descriptions. The pace she sets is fast but easy to follow, and romance fans who are looking for a characters that don't carry around too much baggage will enjoy Alek and Ella.

Not only are the two main characters entertaining but so are the secondary ones. Ella's younger brother Eli is someone I would like to see get his own book. In the beginning he seems like such an insensitive, selfish, cruel troll but it soon becomes clear that he is not what he seems. Then there is Queen Savella, she's quite the mystery and I'm hoping she gets her own book soon. She seems like a fun character.

I did have to reacquaint myself with some of the mythical creatures mentioned in the book just so that I could have a better image in my mind of what they looked like, but that was part of the fun. Troll-y Yours was a great reading experience that made me laugh and kept me turning pages for hours. While Alek and Ella's story gets an ending, Troll-y Yours ends with a cliffhanger involving rebel forces and a human who has found out about that mythical creatures do exist. I enjoyed the book so much that I've purchased the first book in the series, Remedy Maker and I will be on the lookout for more books from Sheri Fredricks

About the author:
website-FB-twitter-blog
Always on the hunt for the uncommon things in life, author Sheri Fredricks thrives on creating adventures in her mythological kingdom for her readers.

A former engineering secretary, Sheri lives on the beautiful central coast of California. "I wanted to move away from inflexible right angles and create an unboxed world with no boundaries." A voracious reader since her early years, Sheri found her brain crowded with stories and characters of her own. "Ultimately," she says, "my husband encouraged me to write them all down."

Sheri loves to spend time at home. A computer hutch keeps her focused on creating stories, but the panoramic view of life on a ranch will call her outside to play in the sun.
