Interview: Kate Eden The Murdoch Vampires book tour

Welcome to the freak show I Smell Sheep. You have a series about Katie’s favorite subject- Vampires! So fore told is fore warned… just saying.

Sharon: Tell us a little about your Murdoch Vampire Series.

Kate: The Murdoch Vampires series is about a family of Scottish vampires who live in the U.S. Each book follows a different member of the family as they navigate their way to finding love. The books are what I’d call paranormal romantic comedies.

Katie: Do you know any single vampires? We need names and numbers please.

Kate: I don’t share names from my Little Red Book. You gotta go find your own, ladies!

Sharon: In The Hot Scot do we get to see any kilts?

Kate: Absolutely.
Katie: the more important question is do we get to see under them?
Sharon: *headdesk*
Kate: Only if you turn the book upside down. ;)

*Katie and Sharon exchange glances and grab for the kindle at the same time and start shaking*
No judging us!
Sharon: What kind of product does Logan Murdoch make in his lab to help vampires blend in better?
Kate: Logan makes all sorts of products. There’s Sun Shield, which protects them from the effects of their sun allergies. There’s also Life Blood, which is a synthetic blood product so they don’t have to feed from humans. In The Hot Scot, Logan is trying to get LifeBlood onto the market.

Katie: In your book Rebel Child, Raven has to get a crash course in vampire etiquette. What are a few things she needs to learn?
Kate: Well, for one, she needs to learn to stop wearing black all the time. It’s depressing! Plus, there’s the whole humans-are-like cattle thing. Some vampires think they’re so superior. She also needs to learn how to trust people. Luckily, Callum’s a patient man.

Sharon: What do you hate shopping for the most?

Kate: Swimsuits. There’s a level of hell dedicated to making women try on bikinis in fluorescent light.

Katie: If you were a pie what kind would you be?
Kate: Cherry. A little bit sweet, a lot tart and often charmingly flaky.

Katie: wow that was an awesome analogy. Maybe you should think about becoming a writer ;)

Sharon: If you could own any piece of art in the world what would it be?

Kate: Ack! This is a tough one. I was an art history major and love so many artists. But if you’re forcing me to choose just one, it would be “Flaming June” by Frederic Leighton.
Sharon: Beautiful! I haven’t seen it before.

Katie: Who is the sexiest superhero?
Kate: I would like a chance to make Captain America drop the squeaky clean thing for a few sweaty hours. But if he resisted my charms, then I’d go with Batman. I like a man with some shadows.

Sharon: What is your favorite instrument to listen to?

Kate: If we’re talking classical music, then I’d have to say violin. But in general, I’m a drums girl.

Rapid Fire

Sharon: Pancakes or waffles?
Kate: Waffles

Katie: Chips or crackers?
KateChips (unless we’re talking Ritz—the cookie of crackers)
Sharon: do you eat anything on your Ritz?
KateI love butter or peanut butter on mine. I’ll eat almost anything off a Ritz, They’re just that good. I think they put actual methamphetamines in the dough.

Sharon: alien invasion or robot rebellion?
KateAliens, but only if they’re hot.
Sharon: robots can be sexy… have you seen Optimus Prime? :swoon:
Kate: It’s all the voice with that one. I prefer hot skin to cold steel.

Katie: Saint Bernard or Schipperke?
KateSaint Bernard because they come with their own barrel of hooch

Sharon: Skittles or M&Ms?
KateM&Ms—Peanut

Katie: Greek or Italian?
KateItalian
Sharon: I like a nice Greek slab of … wait, you’re talking about food aren’t you?
Kate: I think there’s a gyro joke in there somewhere, but I’ll refrain.

Sharon: North Pole or South Pole?
KateStripper pole

Katie: vampire kiss or vampire bite?
KateDepends on where it’s being given

Sharon: Autobots or Decepticons?
KateThundercats!

Katie: cartoons or anime?
KateCartoons
Sharon: got a favorite from childhood?
Kate: I had a particular fondness for The Smurfs, She-Ra, and, as I already mentioned, The Thundercats (Thunda-thunda-Thunda Cats!) Since I’m basically still a child, I try to watch Adventure Time with Finn and Jake as much as possible.

Sharon: Thanks for talking with us. We would like you to sign this paper saying we warned you about the dragon and provided you with a way to protect yourself

*hands Kate gummy bears*

Is there anything else you would like to tell our readers about you or your books?
KateThis isn’t scientific or anything, but studies show that people who read Kate Eden books laugh twice as much as the average human and experience a lot more mind-blowing sex. Don’t believe me? Buy them and see if I’m wrong!

*Katie runs to computer to one click her way to sexy time*

He gives her an ultimatum: Spend 200 years in exile or submit to a last ditch crash-course in vampire etiquette.

As the poster boy for upstanding, modern vampires, Callum Murdoch stands for
