Everyone deserves a great love story. But for seventeen-year-old Simon Spier it's a little more complicated: he's yet to tell his family or friends he's gay and he doesn't actually know the identity of the anonymous classmate he's fallen for online. Resolving both issues proves hilarious, terrifying and life-changing. Directed by Greg Berlanti (Riverdale, The Flash, Supergirl), written by Isaac Aptaker & Elizabeth Berger (This is Us), and based on Becky Albertalli's acclaimed novel, LOVE, SIMON is a funny and heartfelt coming-of-age story about the thrilling ride of finding yourself and falling in love.

I had an opportunity to get advanced screening tickets. Unfortunately, I couldn't go, but my 16-year-old daughter did. I asked her to review it and she sent me a bunch of bullet not really a review, but kind of. I'll expand on what she wrote based on what she told me in the car after seeing it.

Sharon: Here are her three words to describe the movie. It is a dramedy. The movie is about Simon trying to find out who the anonymous gay kid is in his school. He's been having an email conversation with him and basically falls for him. The story throws lots of red herrings at you and there is a big surprise/twist when you find out who it is.

Not perfect, but has some pretty good re.presentation for the LGBT community

Great soundtrack

There was a grown 6 foot something man in his late 30's next to me crying, so that says something
Sharon: Her exact words when I picked her up "There was a grown-a$$ man next to me, crying." She said she cried some too.

Nick Robinson's acting is phenomenal
Sharon: [She probably thinks the actor is a snack (hot)] If he looks familiar, he was in Jurassic World.

I plan on seeing it when it comes out and will add more comments to this review.
