Alpha Male Diner: Finish Vampire-Ema Marx Novels by J. D. Brown + giveaway

Hello, and welcome to the Alpha-Male Diner! My name is J.D., I’ll be your server/cook today. Right this way, please, to the cozy booth in the dimly lit corner. Notice the velvet black cushions and dripping red candelabras. Yes, those are cinnamon scented candles, the perfect aphrodisiac for all your blood-letting desires.

Free-rage, organically grown vampire, imported from northern Finland
recipe by J. D. Brown
Ema Marx Novels

-180 lbs. of solid muscle – aged for a minimum of two-thousand years.
-Two penetrating eyes, ripened to the color of the Northern lights.
-3 feet of velvet black hair, well washed and conditioned.
-Two wandering hands.
-One dimple on the left cheek.
-One Finnish accent.
-A mouthful of orgasm-inducing fangs.

*Seasonings include:
-Equal parts lemon grass, sea salt, and testosterone.
-One dash of understanding
-Half a cup of humor
-A pinch of angst
*All seasonings are hand-picked from the exotic locals of the Ema Marx series.
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Whip in one jumbo-sized premonition. Use a blow-torch to cook until outside is evenly crisp, allowing inside to remain tender.

Garnish with a sprinkling of un-wavering devotion and serve with a side of elemental-manipulation.

FDA Warning: Consumption of Finnish vampires may cause heart palpations, difficulty breathing, muscle spasms, weakened knees, static-shock, broken furniture, earthquakes, lightning storms, typhoons, and other natural disasters. If symptoms occur for more than four hours, call your physician and brag.

Taste Test:
I set the glass on the nightstand and then lifted both hands to his chest, splaying my fingers over the black cotton of his shirt, feeling the rock-solid planes of muscle beneath. I slid my palms over his shoulders and then draped them around his neck. “Maybe, for the sake of research, you should give me a demonstration.”

“You have devolved back into a gorilla, haven’t you?”

I pinched his arm.

Jesu laughed, causing his left cheek to dimple. His sideways smile reached all the way to his eye. I toyed with the idea of pinching him again, when he suddenly brought his lips to mine. I could feel his lingering smile against my mouth, and practically tasted the joy in his breath. I drank him in, wanting more. His smile vanished, replaced by a hungry growl.

“That’s better,” I whispered.

Jesu gripped each side of my midriff and jerked my hips against his. My nephilim side erupted in a pool of liquid heat as he pressed greedy addicting kisses against my neck. I melted against his chest, completely lost in his embrace.

His scorching fingertips raked along my right side, over my ribs, to the front, where he cupped my breasts. Both nipples hardened and burned under his caressing touch. I glided my hand along his jeans until I found his erection. He groaned and then brought both hands under my jaw and kissed me hard. My heart fluttered and my knees buckled. I wouldn’t stay vertical much longer. Nor did I want to.

Jesu tore away for breath. Cold air blew across my vacant mouth and I whimpered, needing the warmth of his return. He sought my collarbone instead, and kissed the dip of skin at the base of my neck. Gently, he pulled the delicate skin between his lips and nibbled. Not enough to break the skin, but enough to send my head reeling back. Yes, my thoughts screamed. Bite me! Jesu carefully worked his way toward my jaw, kissing and nibbling. He kept his fangs well out of reach, torturing me with the possibility of his canines sinking into my flesh. By the time he reached my earlobe, I already teetered on the brink of orgasm. My fingers clenched so tight, I was sure my nails had cut through his clothes and burrowed into his skin. I couldn’t even remember what part of him I held onto.

Oh, shoot, that’s right. His penis.

Ema Marx is in a race against time. Or rather, a race against Apollyon. A powerful weapon—the legendary philosopher’s stone—could tip the scale in favor of whoever gets their fangs on it first. For Ema, obtaining the stone is an uphill battle through love, alliance, heartbreak, and loyalty. Winning should mean the beginning of beautiful things, but the closer Ema gets to her destiny, the more uncertain her future becomes. Could it be this war was never meant for her? And why the heck doesn’t morning sickness adhere to rules of its own name?

J.D. Brown knows that vampires exist because she’s dating one and no, he doesn’t sparkle. Unfortunately, he’s not immortal either (or maybe her standards are too low). A magnet for subcultures and weirdness, J.D. was that socially awkward girl with more fictional friends than real ones. As a child battling a hearing loss and Muckle-Wells Syndrome, J.D. found comfort in books where strong women always saved the day and got the guy. An obsession with Charmed, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Buffy the Vampire Slayer led J.D. to believe that her mutated chromosome made her something more, not something less. Thus her stubborn flare to persevere was born. A lover of fine cuisine, coffee, and shoes, J.D. never understood why shoe stores don’t serve Starbucks and soufflĂ©. She resides in Wisconsin were she writes urban fantasy—aka vampires for adults—and has political debates with her dogs. She loves to hear from fans and is active on
