Dragon*Con 2012 hosted in Atlanta, Georgia was truly a spectacle not to be missed. The Sheep women were there in full force getting the latest scope. We had the opportunity to interview Anthony Spay art Director for Zenescope Entertainment. Make sure to stick around for your chance to win a one of a kind sheep drawing! Katie: Hi Anthony, can you start by telling me a little about your company and the Grimm line?
Anthony: What I do with the company is I am the Staff Artist/Art Director. Right now I've mostly been doing covers sometimes I'll do some interior art of my own. I scout talent to use on our books and I help out with the overall art direction of the company. If there's a character that needs to be designed often times I'll be the one to design the new character.
Katie: And which characters are specifically doing right now?
Anthony: My most recent thing is Sela who's the main character of the Grimm Fairy Tales. I got her new costume which is going to be her regular costume, in issue #75, we needed a new look for that so I came up with a new design for her.
I also designed a new villain but he's a top secret character for an upcoming series that hasn't been announced yet so I can't talk about it. But he's very creepy and he looks alienish.

Katie: How long have you been with the company?
Anthony: I've been with the company about 2 and half years. I started off as a freelancer, my first issue was Grimm Fairy Tales #42 and after about a year they brought me on as art director and staff artist. Every things worked out great so far, it's been fun.
Katie: Is there anything upcoming that you can share with us?
Anthony: There's a lot of really cool new books coming up this Fall. We have three new mini series Godstorm is one it's Greek/Roman Gods, Robin Hood is a female Robin Hood and she's really badass then Sleepy Hollow with the headless horseman. He's really cool, he's got peoples heads strapped to him, it's pretty creepy.
Katie: If you had to pick a favorite Ninja Turtle who would it be?
Anthony: I always liked Donatello.
Katie: Name your celebrity fantasy crush and tell me why?
Anthony: Oh Wow! This is a tough one. Emma Stone she's great. I use her to model one of our characters after. *chuckles*
Katie: Now its time for a few rapid fire questions! Just answer with the first thing that pops in.
Katie: Cut or Bruise?
Anthony: Bruise
Katie: Earthquake or Hurricane?
Anthony: Hurricane
Katie: Coke or Pepsi?
Anthony: Pepsi
Sharon squeals in background.
Katie: Lucky Charms or Fruity Pebbles?
Anthony: Lucky Charms
Katie: Dark Choc. or Milk?
Anthony: White Chocolate
Katie: Jog or Speed walk?
Anthony: Jogging.

Katie: John Wayne or Clint Eastwood?
Anthony: Clint's cool, I like Clint.
Katie: Sword or Dagger?
Anthony: I'm a sword type myself.
Katie: Cowboy hat or Baseball cap?
Anthony: I'll have to say baseball cap. I'm a Philly boy, I don't have a cowboy hat.
Thanks Anthony for taking the time to chat with us. Make sure to check out all the wonderful things Zenescope has going on and coming up HERE.

If I could be a character, I would want to be a mystical wolf. I would be invisible while I watched what was going on, then I would take form when I needed to take revenge for some wrong-doing. Oh yeah, I couldn't die or be hurt.
